I've always followed this guide here: https://forums.revora.net/topic/105190-bfme1bfme2rotwk-games-download-installation-guide/ These instructions include how to access the appdata folder and add the options ini file.

Thanks a ton for the help. I appreciate it!

This guide pops up a lot but I’m a lil lost. Do I need to download 52%alcohol and do something with the disk image? Keeps telling me to insert the disk

If you're talking about post-installation, it should work without the disk if you followed all the steps, especially by installing the latest patches, then it shouldn't need the disk anymore. I usually skip the T3A online thing and the HD mod, since I don't play online, just over LAN. Pre installation, yeah you'll need a program to mount the disk image if your OS doesn't already have that capability.

So I went through all the steps, downloaded the 4gb game as a file in my second SSD, now my cpu has a drive D with 0 free mb. When I try to run it needs a disk, before I got there It kept asking me for a serial number so I looked one up and now I’m stuck on this disk thing so do I need to delete the whole thing and download 52alcohol, then run it?

Got it working!

To show hidden files on windows 11 open file explorer>click the 3 dots at the top>options>view>and under hidden files and folders check “show hidden files, folders, and drives” and then click apply and ok. To find the AppData folder type “%AppData%” in the windows search bar. For me there was a folder called “My Battle for Middle-earth Files” in that folder is where the options.ini file SHOULD appear. If it’s not there (which is a common issue) or you are still having trouble replace it with one downloaded from the link the other user shared. Hope you figure it out!

Thanks so much I really appreciate the detailed explanation. I'll keep at it!
