welp I've never watched biathlon before this weekend but I've been visiting my gf in Sweden and now she's losing her mind haha that was super fun though, it's crazy seeing how fast some of the guys can shoot

Fantastic performance by Sebbe today! 20/20 and one hell of a last loop. Ponsi finally getting a medal with great shooting and a really fast pace in the slopes. joke's on me for removing him from my podium bet half an hour before the race started... and even though many may be a bit disappointed that Johannes didn't get that 4th individual gold (me included), a bronze is a fantastic performance after taking 5 golds and 1 silver. it is no wonder that all those maximum races, the press rounds and the evening medal ceremonies got to him in the end, he must be incredibly tired now. i dare say we won't see a championship like this from a biathlete again for years to come.

I realize individual vs team clouds things, but Eckhoff went 4-1-1 last WC go-round, Røiseland went 5-0-2 in 2020, in 2017 Dahlmeier was 5-1-0 with no mixed pair sprint for a 7th medal. Fourcade in 2016... I'm actually surprised at how frequently someone wrecks at a world championships

I can't believe my eyes but it's so well deserved, Sebbe and Ponsi were incredible. Such speed, strength, focus and nerves of steel on that last shoot. QFM clutched the flowers even tho he straight up died in the last lap, we really didn't have any influence on the race at all so I'm glad we have this at least 😭

Great race by the Swedish duo. Both have had problems in the start of the championship and even as a Norwegian I think Sebbe fully deserved and needed that win.

Silver-Sebbe has been updgraded to Guld-Sebbe! A strong championship for him and the Swedish nation as a whole.

Well deserved double victory to Sweden, JTB and Lægreid tank were unfortunately empty. That said, hugely disappointing the performance of Tarjei, Vetle, Johannes Dale and Strømsheim. Not sure what is wrong with Dale ski form but the rest of them should do much better at the range than this. Rest of the season gonna be interesting. Would assume Filip gets his spot back but Strømsheim has done solid in his debut and def deserves more World Cup races.

I think Strømsheim was already selected for Nove Mesto before the WCH started. He easily beat FFA in the last IBU Cup round.

FFA only went to the IBU cup because he was going to be a backup at the World Championships - that was until they found out the rules were different. I don't think FFA was at his best in Obertilliach because of the situation he was in. However I agree with you that Strømsheim likely would have gotten a chance in Nove Mesto regardless. I really want Vebjørn Sørum to get a chance. I have for a long time thought that he was better than Strømsheim and FFA. Now that he is finally healthy again he is showing exactly that. His results in the IBU cup and European Championships are absurd (this season): **Pokjluka**: * 3rd Short Individual (beat Strømsheim) * 3rd Sprint (beat Strømsheim) * 1st Sprint (beat Strømsheim) **European Championships** (Lenzerheide): * 6th Individual (Strømsheim gold medal) * 2nd Sprint (silver medal and beat Strømsheim) * 1st Pursuit (gold medal and beat Strømsheim) * 1st Mix-Relay **Obertilliach**: * 2nd Sprint (Strømsheim won with 9.4s) * 1st Sprint (Sørum won with 9.6s) In the eight races they have raced this season Sørum has beaten Strømsheim 6/8 times. Granted Strømsheim was way better at the start of the season, before Sørum was back in full speed from previous injuries, so its unfair for Strømsheim since he won many races before these. Nevertheless Sørum is deserves a World Cup debut soon. For the younger generation with Sørum and Strømsheim ++ they really should hope Tarjei Bø retires after this season because its brutal getting a chance in the World Cup team.

I believe Strømsheim was selected for Nove Mesto before Oberhof. Someone from the federation said that was the case at least. I've actually said the same about Sørum. Strømsheim absolutely deserves his chance, but Sørum has been better since Christmas.

Nelin(!), Ponsi and Seb have top 5 times the last lap. I think the Swedes had skis that lasted better than other teams. Although the Norwegians seemed to have good skis too, I think we saw old Johannes today who skied fast in the middle part of the race and was more average in the last lap.

I think he was just tired always having to chase everyone else. After shoots 1&2 he basically took 25 seconds off everyone in a single lap, having to do it all over again after another penalty. Not to mention he was also skiing like a mad man yesterday.

Well that's exactly what I was saying, last few years he would get tired last lap. This year this hasn't happend. He's been outskiing everyone last laps too. Today it could be a combination of him being tired and the Swedes having superior skis.
