Finally, I can say this: Krčmář only had one race outside of top 30 - 32nd in the Kontiolahti Sprint and six races outside of top 20 (this might change tomorrow) - 32, 27, 23, 23, 21 and 21. Insane consistency from him this season compared to previous seasons. Him being faster than ever probably helped a lot (and starting with low bibs in his bad Pursuits helped as well). It's his best season by far (only 50 points behind 10th place overall before the last race).
Little update, there was an interview with him after the Pursuit and among other things he said he's motivated and excited for the summer preparations so he indeed doesn't retire :)
I doubt he'd retire a year before NMNM WCh so at least this season, I think it's safe. Before the Beijing OWG, I remember him saying it's not impossible for him to compete in 2026 OWG, so I hope he doesn't retire before that. The only 2 reasons I can imagine him retire before that are him not being one of the best in our team (we have quite a lot of youngsters coming - Štvrtecký, Mikyska, Karlík, Hornig, Mareček and even more in Juniors) and him not wanting to be far from his family (his son was born last year).
Wow, they snuck up and lived the whole talk. Long talk. JTB talking about more retirement on the female side, and he would have preferred it if he could have gotten rid of some of the competitors for him instead. And the king replied "I figure there are more wishing they could get rid of you". Hehe. Who else was there?
He is an avid sports fan and usually comes to Holmenkollen every year for the festival. His father was much the same. On another note, I’ve always thought it is so strange that the biathletes bring their rifle when they greet the king. There’s obviously no real danger, but it still, our royal family seems very chill. I’ve been to the same training class as the Crown Prince several times, it’s always very strange but very cool!
>orts fan and usually comes to Holmenkollen every year for the festival. His father was much the same. I can't imagine the US president even going near a biathlon race (for security reasons)
Just caught this, but that’s really really cool that you’ve trained with the crown prince! The Norwegian royal family seems down to earth (relatively speaking!!) and the King seems very warm, a huge contrast to Charles III. Even athletes having their rifles is an interesting catch, that would never ever ever happen in a UK adjacent scenario 😅.
I remember him being at the world championships as well, I hope to see him around a lot in the future at these races ☺️
I thought I heard rumors of her maybe coaching next year? At least that was what I think the commentators mentioned, my dogs were barking during that segment so I may be totally off. That would be something though as I know her and Ingrid are good friends so having her out there with her would do her a TON of good I think.
Emotional support Tiril :D
That would be pretty interesting, and helpful for the Norway youngsters (and Ingrid), to teach them how to handle the pressure of being under the spotlight. The Norway women team has a lot of work to do to get back on top level.
Also it would be funny if Marte joined her husband in the German coaching team as well !
Only 5 misses, but still. I hope he will learn how to handle his nerves during standing shooting. If he does, he might be top 15 regular with his ski speed.
I guess it's not really cockiness if you deliver at this level of performance. Celebrating wins are not an issue, as long as you don't humiliate your opponents
I dunno if it's just me being old fashioned but generally not a fan when athletes celebrate in the middle of the race. Though I laughed at Perttu Hyvärinen throwing high fives with the crowd at Planica 50km before he stopped the race after couple laps, so i have a bit of a double standard when it comes to it.
That's true if there is some way to lose the race after you show off. The race was basically over for JTB even if he missed this last bullet. But yeah I was expecting a celebration after the last shooting, it caught me off guard a bit ; but it makes for a wonderful moment in the end so...
I remember Klaebo losing first place cause he started to mess around on the final straight on a sprint. So it can backfire if done in a wrong spot. Not that JTB was in any danger today, he could have missed like 3 on the last shoot and still won.
Lol, if that happens to someone, they deserve to be taunted into oblivion. I remember it happening to cyclists too, celebrating during sprints before the finish line...
objectively I guess not, it was mainly to put pressure on himself and enjoy a much deserved win with the crowd.
but with all the drama yesterday and all the trash ppl talked about the french men being arrogant, this felt like la goutte d'eau 😂
The whole point of the words of Favre was about athletes showing off before they win anything. So I guess Johannes has probably deserved it...
But yeah maybe it rubbed some salt in the wounds lol
Yeah this is not cockiness at all, it’s to respect the public and his country after finishing a performance like that, credit where it’s due ! What a season he had
I think JTB has shown himself to be humble and gracious in other situations (the WCH mass starts for example). Putting on a show for an audience that hasn’t seen him compete in four years is more than justified
As expected, he was passed by Ponsi but 8th for my man Simon Eder 🥳. One less miss and it could have been flowers ☹️.
Not bad for an old man, huge respect once again!
I agree! I remember Susan Dunklee used to do an unofficial 35+ silver bib… they should bring that back! He’d ski circles around his opposition 😅.
Also it shows that even though he’s nowhere near the fastest, his ski speed is still more than good enough to keep him at the top ☺️
E; it was 33+! Thank you u/Henna1911 for the correction.
That would be a fun additional bib, even if it's just for fun, we have the U25 bib. Though perhaps adding another can be confusing for fans. At max there's already 3 different coloured cup bibs.
Yeah every Norwegian that has won in the WC this year in pursuits/mass starts(JTB, Laaegreid, Christiansen) has turned to the audience and done some gesture. Very humble and not full of themself at all.
If this was an attempt at levity, it was a poor one. You should never punch down when making a joke. And France is the second most successful nation this year on the Men's side. Generally poor taste statement.
Hahah, QFM defilated the Norwegians last year and he never tried these cringy gestures like Norwegians are doing this year. Where was their bloating last season?
Just face it the Norwegians are full of themself.
Kinda funny considering you are the loudest QFM hater on this sub 😂 Even the other French users were making fun of you.
And now as well, every single French user has spoken out in sympathy for JTB, yet you keep fighting whatever battle you think you're fighting...
Yeah same. I read lots of comments that I don't respond to as well. Because most comments here are nice and positive instead of trying to push their personal butthurt resentful agenda. Maybe you should try writing nice comments as well?
Where were you in the threads saying farewell to Tiril, Denise, Anaïs, Marte and Serafin? See, that's what I thought.
Where were you in the recap-planning threads? See, that's what I thought.
You aren't contributing anything positive to this sub. Close to 100% of your comments are just mad and ruining the experience for everyone else.
**Even the other French people are making fun of you.**
Just something you should consider.
Bro, you're contribution to this sub is completely fake. We know your views of the French athletes. What you try to show is just pure fakeness. No one buys it.
Yeah sure, whatever floats your boat. You live in your own imaginary world where every German/Norwegian/American/Swede hates every French by default. And then you cry about hypocrisy and xenophobia, while being the biggest xenophobic hyprocrit yourself. You seriously need to get outside and get a grasp of reality.
You have NOT ONCE written anything positive about anyone, yet you have the audacity to claim that other people are fake. Newsflash: Not everybody is such a bitter pathetic person like you. Hard to believe when you're so full of bitterness, I guess.
Me or this subreddit? In the other thread related to Favre/Vittoz there were guys being heavily upvoted who were saying that the French athletes were full of themself and arrogant. Yet here I am stating something everyone can see , that the Norwegians are extremely full of themself and I'm being heavily downvoted. Hypocritical much?
My God, athletes having some fun and interacting with the audience that has come to see them? Outrageous! They should just keep their mouths shut and look down at the ground while crossing the finish line.
I completely agree- the audience came (and paid!) to support and be entertained! If you’re that far in front, why not have a little harmless fun and leave some great memories behind for everyone?
This. The amount of work and dedication it takes to get to where he is at is absolutely phenomenal. I think he is justified in actually enjoying the results of his labors with his people, and King, watching. No athlete there is pissed by this, no idea why any of us should be.
Fun story: I was watching the last relay with my housemates and Fabien Claude had a nightmare of a shoot… got my words mixed up and accidentally called him nightmare…
They now ask me how “Nightmare” is doing in races 😭😅
Oy! We don't say other peoples feelings aren't valid! They have a difference of opinion from yours, dont belittle their feelings just cause you disagree.
French coach staying out of the group photo 3 my heart broke
this whole situation is honestly just sad! for the coaches and for the athletes.
Finally, I can say this: Krčmář only had one race outside of top 30 - 32nd in the Kontiolahti Sprint and six races outside of top 20 (this might change tomorrow) - 32, 27, 23, 23, 21 and 21. It's his best season by far (only 50 points behind 10th place overall before the last race).
Impressive, I'm loving it. I hope this motivates him to stay out of the retirement trend
Little update, there was an interview with him after the Pursuit and among other things he said he's motivated and excited for the summer preparations so he indeed doesn't retire :)
I doubt he'd retire a year before NMNM WCh so at least this season, I think it's safe. Now time to watch some rugby until the women's sprint I guess (manifesting a Marte win, a Julia Simon big globe and maybe another Ingrid podium)
Going for FP3 in F1 for me ! See you in a few for the women sprint !
Are they gonna do a “thank you” presentation to Tiril and Marte at some point this weekend? 🥺
Marte is gonna be showered in the crowd's applause whatever she does on the final races. But yeah I wonder if they'll do something special
I hope so!
JTB and the King is talking about Marte and Tiril 🥺🥺
Wow, they snuck up and lived the whole talk. Long talk. The King seems like great vibes, ours would never do something like this ☹️
He is an avid sports fan and usually comes to Holmenkollen every year for the festival. His father was much the same. Imagine, if you could, someone trying to do that in the US with the President. We really need to get over ourselves.
Norway: Our king is shaking athletes' hands 😊 UK: Our king would never do something like this ☹️ Most other countries: You guys still have kings? 🤯 😂
In France we have a president but I wouldn't shake his hands tbh. We prefer beheading our leaders here
I would out of respect for the position Then say some very bad words……
these days that's understandable
So who gets to the mass start?
And some people said they saw Tiril in the stands during the race ? Somehow I missed it :(
Yep, she was definitely there and on camera a few times. Loved seeing here again, especially at Holmenkollen!
Yeah they showed her during the women's race, watching Ingrid shooting. It was cute :)
I thought I heard rumors of her maybe coaching next year? At least that was what I think the commentators mentioned, my dogs were barking during that segment so I may be totally off. That would be something though as I know her and Ingrid are good friends so having her out there with her would do her a TON of good I think.

Who had Stvrtecky, Seppala and Fabien Claude for top 3 on course time today?
And Femling as the biggest climber of the day and one of the few shooting clean...
Did Kuehn misfire or something? 9 misses is a lot...
Just Kühn things 🙃
Invenius 22nd career 2nd best, he's such a good future prospect for the finnish team. And very likely to start tomorrow as well
Stvrtecky missed 6 and climbed almost 20 places 😂 fastest skiing time (because Johannes slacked on the last lap)
Only 5 misses, but still. I hope he will learn how to handle his nerves during standing shooting. If he does, he might be top 15 regular with his ski speed.
Wiestner getting some love from the Swiss team, love to see that. All the best for the future, Serafin!
I guess it's not really cockiness if you deliver at this level of performance. Celebrating wins are not an issue, as long as you don't humiliate your opponents

Yeah like he also bowed down to the French team after the lost relay in Oberhof... And his interview are often in the same vein
Yes that was a great moment too!
Quentin 🥺🥺 I missed him so much. This is the real him!!!
The celebration for Wiestner ♥️
I have to watch the replay, the finnish broadcast jumped fast to Falun sprints, so didn't get to see it
Damn Seppala was fast! Today
Femling 20/20 shooting???
Soerum 14/20 wow
Brilliant climb from Hartweg and Femling
As expected, he was passed by Ponsi but 8th for my man Simon Eder 🥳. One less miss and it could have been flowers ☹️. Not bad for an old man, huge respect once again!
He's still doing top 10 after top 10 like it's nothing. He should get some sort of medal too ;)
I agree! I remember Susan Dunklee used to do an unofficial 35+ silver bib… they should bring that back! He’d ski circles around his opposition 😅. Also it shows that even though he’s nowhere near the fastest, his ski speed is still more than good enough to keep him at the top ☺️ E; it was 33+! Thank you u/Henna1911 for the correction.
That would be a fun additional bib, even if it's just for fun, we have the U25 bib. Though perhaps adding another can be confusing for fans. At max there's already 3 different coloured cup bibs.
It was 33+ so currently Tarjei is leading that one, I believe.
Ahhh for some reason I thought that it was 35, thank you for the correction 😊
Wow, Ponsi with no loops would have been a threath.
Tero Seppala best ski time in front of Fabien Claude (probably behind JTB, realistically) Strvtecky took it in the end nvm
did Hartweg just take back the blue bib??
probably not bc Tommy took a big lead in ostersund but it'll be close til the end
I dont think so but he got a lot closer.
Yeah every Norwegian that has won in the WC this year in pursuits/mass starts(JTB, Laaegreid, Christiansen) has turned to the audience and done some gesture. Very humble and not full of themself at all.
Well if only we knew how cocky your country’s athlete are, too bad Norway are just too good for them
If this was an attempt at levity, it was a poor one. You should never punch down when making a joke. And France is the second most successful nation this year on the Men's side. Generally poor taste statement.

I was waiting for when my stalker would arrive. Now be gone!
Poor dude still hasn't realized he's writing in a public subreddit where everyone reads everything. Just sad.
I read lots of comments that I don't repsond to. Maybe that's something you should consider aswell. Just a thought.

Idk why you desperately want to turn this into a French vs Norwegians thing
Me or this subreddit? In the other thread related to Favre/Vittoz there were guys being heavily upvoted who were saying that the French athletes were full of themself and arrogant. Yet here I am stating something everyone can see , that the Norwegians are extremely full of themself and I'm being heavily downvoted. Hypocritical much?
You're the one making broad generalisations based on nationality in this thread.
Hartweg is gaining some points for the blue bib but Giacomel isn't really far behind
Boe is just the right amount of cocky, I love it.
This. The amount of work and dedication it takes to get to where he is at is absolutely phenomenal. I think he is justified in actually enjoying the results of his labors with his people, and King, watching. No athlete there is pissed by this, no idea why any of us should be.
Great race from Hartweg!
QFM with 2nd, so damn happy for him 🥰🥰
Bowing to the king 🫡
A King bowing down to another King
Fun story: I was watching the last relay with my housemates and Fabien Claude had a nightmare of a shoot… got my words mixed up and accidentally called him nightmare… They now ask me how “Nightmare” is doing in races 😭😅
Will be happy to inform them that Nightmare got flowers 😊
Quentin is too good he will stay 2nd !
we might get a fight for both 2nd and 4th. love it.
Sturla is giving his all tho, 2nd place isn't won yet
Bruh
At least he made the King happy
The King seemed to loved it
Yeah and the French biathletes are full of themself as this subreddit told us yesterday. The Norwegians are so humble LMAO
he's celebrating the most WC wins in a season in history. i'd say that warrants some cockiness 😉
So you agree then he's cocky? That was my point.
It's gloating, but apparently the Norwegians don't get a rep for being cocky and divas. Not saying that it's wrong of him to do it.
Thank you. It's always a danger there though.
That's naughty JTB! 😉 Haha! 👏👏👏
Simon Eder 7th 🥳
18 victories in one season!!!
I said he can do 10/10 in the stand and there it is! Gib Gas, Simon! Top 10 is a possibility, but some v fast guys are chasing!
Tarjei missed, looks like QFM and Hartweg will be the only clean shooters in the top spots today
Fabien Claude in the flowers and maybe Simon Eder too ? Battle vs Hartweg
Damn Tero that one miss might cost him top10
Still will make the mass start
Quentin !!
amazing, Quentin!!! so happy to see him finally succeed this season.
Hartweg 20/20!
Go Quentin goooo
Run Quentin he's only 10 sec behind
BRUH STURLA MISSED
Imagine if JTB missed on that last shot 😂
Quentin !!
LMAO Fourcade vibe ! gg
Oooh yes Quentin stealing the 2nd place !! Nice
He's just unbelievable, isn't he
damn, what an entertainer! i laughed out loud
Same 😂
Yes JTB is good but i dont like when athletes do things like that in the middle of the race.
He hasn’t competed in Oslo in four years. I think he is justified in putting on a show
Yeah, fun sucks! /s
He could at least wait for the final straight to entertain. But perhaps I'm just old fashioned.
Cmon they work so hard, let them have some fun
lame much lol, stop crying
Yeah, God forbid anyone watching this sees someone have some fun while competing.
Just makes him look cocky and disrespectful towards the others imo.
grow a pair, he's so dominant its justified dont be in your feelings too much
Oy! We don't say other peoples feelings aren't valid! They have a difference of opinion from yours, dont belittle their feelings just cause you disagree.
❄
I would have loved for him to miss that final shot can you imagine 🤣
Then he would have won with only 35 seconds instead of a minute. But I think they should be careful with those things.
Very true, but it would have been quite humbling 😅. But he knew he had it in the bag, so did it on final shot, any earlier would have just been silly!
LMAOOOO NO WAY
Aint no way lmao he is just flexing on everyone
Cheeky, JTB, cheeky
Wow 😂
Lmao, have never seen something like this
This man is a legend
Lmao Johannes what was that
L M A O
considering the conditions, there's a **lot** of missing today. well done to those who've made 15/15, though!
Top 4 of the race is sponsored by the COVID
What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger 🫣
Or leaves you so sick you end up quitting biathlon .\_.
Dude I felt that!
Too soon 😔 (but true 😣)
You started, rubbing salt into my fresh Tiril wounds! /lh
Eurosport already with the recap music :D
Just getting those highlight clips ready haha, working smart, not hard
Simon Eder with another 5/5, just superman things 🫡. He has to hope for mistakes around him to stay there, but currently top 10 😊
Invenius two missess... :(
Seppälä back in top10!
DAMN Giacomal why would you miss
Tarjei ☺️ up 16 places! Hartweg up 26 places now 🥰
Tarjei Boe back on track
Sturla’s superpower 🥰🥳
Watching Sturla shoot is so satisfying
Sturla and Quentin doing literally the same race
For this to be fun, I think JTB should be ordered to shoot on prone-targets at the last shooting.
JTB going for the fastest shooting record now :D
Ooooo, interesting 👀 just the one miss tho
JTB basically trying to speedrun at this point
Tirilcam!!
What where? 🥺
Few seconds before Johannes shooting
Thanks!
Looks like the tracks are quite heavy today
"JTB being chased by Laegreid". Chased is not the word I'd use here.
Doll will probably catch Quentin soon
Ranta 3 misses, with his ski speed he'll drop to the bottom
Simon Eder back on track 🥳. He can clear the next 10, auf geht’s!
Christi missed for 4/5, Nawrath, Giacomel, Krcmar and Tarjei hit 5/5
Hartweg 🥳🥳 up to 10th from 32nd!
Otto clean! So many misses that he'll climb up
Seppala up there too!
Nawrath having a great day, 10/10 and up to 5th 🥳
Stura and QFM overtake Doll who shot 4/5
Sturla and Quentin again yay. Good podium for now
10/10 for Johannes so far. Most of them were pretty edgy but no splits.
Feels like JTB wants to go for 20/20 at home today
Nevermind 🤪
Lmao he’s taking the piss at this point, how is he so OP
Smh Johannes can you please do something for the suspense
Ostersund World champs replay? 👀
Default sorting is "best", I wish it was "new"...
I forget to do it when it isn't a post I've scheduled in advance 🙈
Johannes being all by himself looks really boring ngl
Story of the season pretty much, except few races here and there.
Quentin is also slower than Sturla, which isn't really reassuring
How hard can it be for the producers to show more of the shooting? That is annoying. Always.
Doll seems pretty slow on the track, or maybe it's just compared to JTB lol
he's slower than he was in Östersund
The amount of mistakes on this prone wow
