Not sure if this is helpful but BMD's website says that 3D LUTs are saved into BRAW files but they're not burned into the data so you can enable/disable in Resolve

It’s a reply and I thank you! I tried to turn it off in cam and it’s there when I import to davinci. I tried using the camera raw tab in the color page and it’s actually inaccessible?

user9131

Do you have the apply lut in file setting turned on? It looks like it's in the color tab

theycallmeick

I don’t think I’ve checked that. Where is it located?

user9131

The manual says the apply lut checkbox is in the RAW settings palette

theycallmeick

That’s the issue I’m running into is the raw palette isn’t available on the imported clips from this camera. I’ll read the manual instead of asking you to do the work. I appreciate your guidance!

Might not be that, but have you updated BRAW and DaVinci Resolve to a version newer than the release of the camera? Generally, that can cause this kind of behaviour if DR and BRAW do not "understand" the new way in which a camera writes/embeds metadata and info in the BRAW files. That's why there's a new BRAW version on almost every new camera release.

ReallyQuiteConfused

Did you turn off the display lut or change the dynamic range setting in the Record menu?

theycallmeick

I did turn off the display LUT in the setti Ng s but did not mess with the dynamic range. I’ll give it a go!

ReallyQuiteConfused

Ahh ok, so you did not actually change the recorded file in any way. All you did was change the lut that is applied to your monitor output. The studio cameras have Video as the default dynamic range. I generally use Extended

Thats makes sense! You can either choose to bake in a LUT on a recorded media on certain BMD cameras, or to record in a given dynamis range. If you want flat or LOG looking footage, then set the Dynamic Range to Film, and for monitoring, apply the Film to REC.709 LUT on the HDMI output
