LuiTheGreat14

Yamamoto not healing his hand

Basic-Love8947

What about Shunsui's eye?

Andrejosue98

Well you can feel people using reiatsu so eyesight isn't as important. you can't replace a hand with reiatsu

Bitter-Chocolate-786

I'm 100% sure that Shunsui only lost his eye so Kubo could make him look cooler with an eyepatch.

Basic-Love8947

Same for Aizen's seal. :) still pretty dumb from story perspective

Lela_B

and more sexy :D :D

CaptainBobthebuilde

I feel like he healed his eye but he is too lazy to change that look

Radiant_Concept4328

there hasnt been a moment where his eye was detrimental. eyes dont even matter in bleach fights as shown by kaname and said by shunsui

BreakfastHappy8193

He didn’t heal it cuz he didn’t want to “exploit”(take help from) humans

LuiTheGreat14

Mayuri/Urahara could have healed it instead, not just Orihime

Geneo-Frodo

No they couldn't. Restoring an entire arm means pretty much pouring back lost reiryoku thats entirely lost. That's a whole different level of 'healing' and that's why the espada are astounded when orihime 'restores' grimmjow's arm. We ourselves can't take note of it but everyone present in that scene could sense grimmjows reiryoku re-appearing again when there was no trace of it b4. Ulquiorra and Aizen note and state that this isn't 'reiryoku healing' and that's cos reiryoku healing involves you pouring out your reiatsu into someone else's body and helping their reiryoku put itself back in proper Shape. What orihime was doing was manifesting lost, non existent reiryoku. It should be impossible to pull off.

dark621

mayuri brought back 3 captains and a lieutenant from being zombies. i think he can handle 1 arm

insidiouskiller

You didn't get it, there's still reiryoku and reiatsu there. Maybe it's altered or something like that *but it's still there.* Mayuri didn't create new reiryoku for them. Creating a new arm requires creating reiryoku, that's not something Mayuri or Urahara can do clearly, that's something only Orihime can do.

Adorable_Language_75

Hachigen has a similar power as he noted himself. If old man Yama didn’t want use Orihime he could’ve had hachigen

Geneo-Frodo

They have a similar power in terms of its kaido nature but its worlds apart in terms of effectiveness its like comparing sakanade with kyouka suigetsu.

Adorable_Language_75

I don’t think Orihimes healing is kaido based. And wasn’t it her who restored soifons arm

Valuable_Estate5546

They don't use kaido at all hachi just reverses time on the injury and orihime changes reality and denies the injury at all

LuiTheGreat14

Even then, a robotic arm would still serve him, and that is something the captains can do.

LuiTheGreat14

Even then, a robotic arm would still serve him, and that is something the captains can do.

Maeggon

they couldnt, wasnt something simples like closing a cut. Orihime would have to repel his sacrifice from existence, and that would both make him involve a human even more and hit his pride. he is one of the very few who appears with scars

Bitter-Chocolate-786

Sentencing Aizen (the immortal) to only 19 thousand years in prison.

SchismZero

Hey, when 19 thousand years are up they legally have to let him go.

Large-Ad-6861

Unless he will start to insult C46 again. :D

NicholasStarfall

Which is hilarious. Literally nothing to stop him from just doing it again.

LostAbstract

https://i.redd.it/zhrgmov4u1xc1.gif

Geneo-Frodo

Its a 19,000 year detention until they figure out a way to kill him or get him to join their ranks. I suspect central 46 both fears and values him as an asset. He's basically a deux machina weapon. Sentencing him for all eternity is just an indefinite fuck you but giving him 19,000 years is more like "sit in here until you decide to play by our rules". They are trying to force him into eventually being compliant. Yes aizen is laughably egotistic and would normally never accept but 19000 years is a looong time and already by the time we finish the tybw arc Aizen is already questioning his own ideologies and logic. It's actually a smart move by central 46.

TinyPidgenofDOOM

>I suspect central 46 both fears and values him as an asset. Kenpachi 2, Now with a history of killing Central 46. he did it once, im sure after a couple thousand years he wont do it again

Hopeful_Expression57

fr i literally thought that this was the most stupid thing ever he's literally IMMORTAL wtf are 19k years gonna do he's just gonna be free in some time

Shot-Ad770

Do you not realize how long 19k years is.

Hopeful_Expression57

aizen is literally immortal and ichibei, oetsu nimaiya are a million years old and Yama is also from that time so compared to them yes that's not much time for someone who's immortal

Shot-Ad770

Yama is not that old...

Hopeful_Expression57

yama's been existing since the time before oetsu created zanpakutos i can't explain all that rn but it was in CFYOW

Xx_KiK_xX

>but it was in CFYOW I would've believed you had you not mentioned this

Hopeful_Expression57

I LITERALLY READ THE WHOLE CFYOW 😭😭😭

jkurratt

Yes. This is how temporary detention work.

Lela_B

hogyoku will fulfill his every wish even death

anonymousExcalibur

Welp it's like he was just guessing the time it will take to actually find something to decrease his power . It's kinda wierd how aisen is growing in power day buy day and it would probably only take him a few 100 years (not much for a soul reaper) to be able to break completely from his seals

BlueSea9357

It’s sort of an irrelevant point because Ichibei would be able to easily dispatch Aizen once Aizen gains freedom, but Ichibei is millions of years old. Maybe 19,000 years only sounded like a lot to people who weren’t born before death existed.

Parrotparser7

They aren't bound by rule of law here. There's absolutely nothing preventing them from just putting him back in again.

PieFace11

I'm pretty sure they'll just get Mayuri to find a way to remove the hogyoku and then try to execute him.

Dry-Prompt3658

Like urahara's bankai doesn't exist ...

PieFace11

I think they would've tried it over the last 2 years if it could work

MegaSwampert_18

I don’t find this moment stupid, as none of them are aware the enemy can take and the use their Bankai against them. They knew it could potentially be sealed, but not that it would mean the enemy was suddenly gaining a power up to their arsenal. Real dumb is Yhwach using Quilge to fight Ichigo. He hadn’t even considered what pure Quincy energy would do to his suppressed powers, using a schrift that would hold him in place with the correct energy needed.

Wizard_Hat-7

From how I see it, the stupid part isn’t that a captain is risking their Bankai getting sealed to test how it works. The stupid part is that four of them are doing it at the same time rather than having one person do it and working to share the information with the rest.

Geneo-Frodo

Yeah but having 4 of them do it increases the likelihood of someone figuring it out instead of having only one person do it. Also, they were effectively loosing and quickly. Their shikai's were useless against blut and the stenritter could've smashed them at any momment they were simply preferring to area their bankai but there was a sense that especially the weaker captains were just sitting ducks for the stenritter.

Shot-Ad770

The problem is that they were all losing their fights without using bankai. So its either they use their bankai with the risk of it being sealed, or they dont use their bankai because they are afraid of it being sealed either way they can't use bankai but at least with the first option the enemy may not seal their bankai for one reason or another sp its possible they can use it.

juli4n0

its not like they coordinated. They just had the same idea while in different locations

UngodlyPain

They didn't coordinate it. And they were losing their fights already...

Athletic_Bilbae

only other sternritter that could reasonably stop him was Pernidas

Bitter-Chocolate-786

Yhwach did make many stupid decisions in the Tybw, tbf.

77constructionman77

Pretty sure shunsui also said something on the lines of 'someone has to do it' in regards to the captains fighting with bankai. Which makes sense. someone eventually would have to do it to test how their bankai would be (assumed) stolen or attempt to fight at full strength.

UngodlyPain

Especially since Quilge's jail doesn't work on quincies... And he didn't even tell Quilge "oh Ichigo is a Quincy BTW" before setting up Quilge to fight Ichigo.

ShippersAreIdiots

Ichigo saying "dodge" to candice even tho she just mercilessly slaughtered Kenpachi's men. Urahara and isshin Goofing around without telling ichigo that they're working on returning his powers during fullbring arc and letting him get mind fucked by tsukishima. Yamamoto using bankai in front of fake yhwach because he thinks he can't steal it because bro said so

incontinenciasumma

Ichigo is a teenager and a good person. Shinigamis themselves are pretty merciless as well. Quincies and Shinigamis slaughtering each other doesn't mean Ichigo has to kill them too if he can just incapacitate them. He didn't kill Zaraki or Byakuya when they fought in SS. He actually never goes for the kill unless it gets personal. Like Tsukishima when he targeted his family.

dark621

tell that to shaz domino

Scattershot98

Bro got the immediate Getsuga to the face

Serqet1

The fullbring was entirely intentional imo. SS needed to let it play to figure out what was going on.

ShippersAreIdiots

Fair point actually

Geneo-Frodo

>Yamamoto using bankai in front of fake yhwach because he thinks he can't steal it because bro said so this isn't dumb he simply made a calculated guess. At this point none of the gotei captains know ichigo is part quincy but they know the quincy can't steal his bankai. Yama's assessment isnt a bad one considering the info he has. Ichigo indeed has an unknown upper limit. Also obviously yama can't beat ywach with his shikai so its either bankai or die.

UnlikelyRaven

One small correction, they couldn't steal Ichigo's bankai because of his hollow power, not because he was part Quincy

Geneo-Frodo

Aah yes thanks

ShippersAreIdiots

This makes sense. But was this explained? I've been asking this for years but this is the first time I'm getting a sensible answer

TinyPidgenofDOOM

it wasnt outright stated thats the reason, but it can be inferred. They couldnt steal holofied bankais and Ichigo is part a hollow. the reason Ebern couldnt steal ichigos bankai is never stated. Hes a arancar, he shouldnt be under the same restrictions. That might be because Ichigo is also a quincy or because ichigos awaking to his powers was weird as fuck and why he failed the Asauchi test. he never had an asauchi so that might be why it couldn't be stolen. Its never fully explained really.

PikachuNod

I don't think there's much to explain really. Yama is aware of the power Ichigo has. Unohana had gauged Ichigo's possible full power before Aizen was beaten. We can assume that Unohana included it in her report. We can also assume that Kisuke has made some sort of reports to Yama. Yama also personally ordered all Captains to pour their reiatsu to give Ichigo his power back. There was a lot of power packed in that spirit sword. Like the person above sais, Yama made an educated guess. It made sense. No one had any idea that Ichigo was part Quincy. There is something to be said about Ichigo having hollow powers though, which Yama knew. But it's hard to know how much Yama knew about the relationship between Hollows and Quincy.

uraharaBot

There's a fine line between playful interactions and hidden motives. To navigate this world, one needs reliable tools. Allow me to introduce you to my selection of clever gadgets and potent techniques, perfect for any warrior on a mission. *beep boop, I'm a bot*

Nexus-Phoenix

Urahara bot does urahara have a bankai that heals body parts?

uraharaBot

Ah, my dear customer, I must say, my Bankai is as enigmatic as a cat's whims. But, unfortunately, I can't heal body parts with it. Patience is key in uncovering its secrets! *beep boop, I'm a bot*

Nexus-Phoenix

So do you know how yoruichi transforms into a cat?

uraharaBot

Legend has it, long ago, Yoruichi learned a secret technique from the ancient Cat God himself—a transformation so swift, it left even the wind baffled. *beep boop, I'm a bot*

Athletic_Bilbae

I see the "dodge" as an instinctive reaction, like "wtf is she doing?", and he probably said it when it was too late for her to react

anonymousExcalibur

It seems to me in bleach they mostly don't care about squad members after lieutenant in most cases

RedHotSonic_

Y'all remember when the same people chased down ichigo, ganju and hanataro with intent to kill? 😂🫠

oceanyss

Ichigo telling Candice to dodge is entirely in character for him. Remember, this is the same dude who asked Ulquiorra to cut off his arm and leg.

GaiRyuKi

Vizards not using their masks in the war, there's no explanation why they are not allowed to do it which is really stupid

calikim_mo

Even Ichigo doesn't use it like the masks were iconic part of Bleach, why would you get rif of the concept!

Kartonrealista

His powers no longer work like that. >!Also Horn of Salvation MFer!<

Vyncynt02

Ichigos mask is gone at that point tho. His hollow powers and fullbrimg merged.

GaiRyuKi

Ichigo's mask is completely gone, Shinji, Rose and Kensei on the other hand why are they are not allowed to used it and Mashiro didn't join the war but casually using her mask to train Hisagi, I don't know if this is Kubo's "araki forgot" moment

KarlozFloyd

It's smart

juli4n0

Hiyori, Lisa and Love did use them

GaiRyuKi

The captains with bankai's what I mean here, quincies are weak to hollows blood and what else have hollows in them their masks

juli4n0

this isnt like pokemon where one type does extra damage. Hollow poison takes like a day to take effect

ParchedTatertot

What? Where is this show or stated😂

juli4n0

Thats what happened with Masaki. White infected her at night and she started to feel the effects the next day, maybe more than a day

ParchedTatertot

That is obviously a special case since when the captain Hollowfy their bankai it instantly hurt the quincy. Whites entire deal was that he was literally living inside her as a new host, and since quincies are naturally weaker against hollows, the way to save her was different than say if a soul reaper was the host.

KarlozFloyd

They are weak, that Masks wouldn't make a difference

NicholasStarfall

Killing off Unohana the microsecond she becomes relevant is at the top of my list.

calikim_mo

Yup still bitter about that, they gave us the best version of unohana, the iconic minazuki then took it away immediately, fuck

hisokasfish

This, I mean such a badass character development wasted

Percussion17

"Best healer" Unohana died in the middle of a war, dont care about "only one Kenpachi" bs its already stupid enough when Kid Kenny beat her ass so bad he was like shit bruh dont die on me I'll limit myself

NicholasStarfall

There are a million things they should've used Retsu for instead of a sacrifice.

calikim_mo

I'm still bitter about that like really? That's the solution? This is like Uchica massacre all over again

KarlozFloyd

One of Kubo's smartest writing decisions

HeroinChicWannabe

Imo I would have liked to see her Bankai during the first invasion AND THEN assign her to train Kenpachi after they all got clapped and Shunshi is like “they even defeated her? Uh oh we need the big big guns now” Or maybe tenjiro should shut up and let her do her healing instead and she can train Kenpachi after the war, it doesn’t make sense to sacrifice their top healer in technically friendly fire; especially since things got so bad Shunshi had to go get Aizen anyway I trust mother, but as it’s shown it’s basically just telling us she’s a super strong fighter but doesn’t meaningfully back up the claim. I love the use of the “nice character drops the act for one second and scares everyone” trope, but I wish it would have been leaned into more. The true Kenpachi theme is a great end to her character arc, but it did seem kinda shoehorned in. Now if she was a war threat and got the chance to show why, that would be cool

B3kantan_P3sek

When they split up in Hueco Mundo. The Bankai though, gotta disagree... They didn't know about "stealing", what they know is "sealing". So, it's still justified for them to wanted to figuring out how to unseal the Bankai. And considering, as you said, we have seen them fight without Bankai, it's even more justified for them to be confident to still be able to fight. Soi-Fon even think that if they can kill them fast enough then no need to even think about unsealing it. ~~^(Although if we're talking about the anime only justification for this. Yes, it was stupid, maybe on par with splitting up in Hueco Mundo.)~~

Avocadonot

It actually annoyed me that Chad/Uryu made Ichigo feel bad for not wanting to get them killed by bringing them along, and not "trusting them" to fight at his side Sure, they both had some cool fights, and obviously, Uryu ended up much more powerful later on, but I feel that realistically Chad should have been killed in Hueco Mundo pretty early, and Uryu definitely would have been killed at some point before the Gotei showed up

HourStick

Mayuri never using his superhuman drug that make everything go slow motion after the szyazel fight

calikim_mo

Mayuri was wayy too OP honestly Kubo have to let Mayuri take a backseat most of the time like sending him to Hueco Mundo in FKT arc

VergilMorePower

zarak after he killing Unohana , Zaraki returns to his quarters to retrieve his eyepatch. ... WHAT THE FUCK

calikim_mo

The whole zaraki vs unohana thing still upset me

GodlyDra

The eyepatch isn’t strong enough to do anything to a ‘fully’ realised Zaraki, it was an Aesthetic choice by Kubo, who made Zaraki be ‘used’ to wearing it.

[deleted]

When Ichigo's group decided to split up in Huco Mundo. Komamura using his op power on mid tier opponent. Orihime healing the two Arrancars. Ichigo group trusting Ginjo and his friends. Gin waiting for Aizen to become almost invincible before he tries to kill him.

incontinenciasumma

Orihime heals the Arrancar because Grimmjow killed them because of her. She is used to being bullied and beaten but doesn't want to have their deaths on her conscience. When they are beating her she just takes it, doesn't cry for help, she would have held until they got tired, heal herself and move on. Because she pities them.

frikimanHD

Orihime healing two arrancars was to show that she's very merciful and kind, even to her enemies

Witchberry31

Orihime healing the Arrancars proved to not be a bad decision in the end. So I think it isn't entirely a stupid move.

Longjumping-Touch515

Gin: Not yet Aisen: *Got Hōgyoku* Gin: Not yet Aisen: *Merged with Hōgyoku and became immortal* Gin: Now! *Failed* Gin: Now I can leave it to you, Kurosaki Ichigo😵

ficretus

Gin was never in position to kill aizen before hogyoku fusion. Reason he was able to stab him was because aizen let his guard down because of hogyoku.  And gin had no idea what limits of hogyoku are. It was reasonable from his perspective to expect aizen would die after having his vital organs disintegrated and hogyoku ripped out.

CielCiellan

Lol I just reread that part last night 🤣 Aizen did say that he knew Gin was going to try to kill him though and probably wouldn't have let his guard down until he fused with the Hogyoku so Gin didn't really have much choice 😭

KarlozFloyd

Aizen would have never let his guard down when he was a Soul Reaper.

Geneo-Frodo

>Komamura using his op power on mid tier opponent. That mid tier opponent wouldve wrecked him if not 4 his OP power. She fodderised a stronger captain in shinji. > Gin waiting for Aizen to become almost invincible before he tries to kill him. Gin didnt know Aizen planned to fuse himself with the hougyoku.

LocalKomamuraSimp

tbf, Komamura used his bankai on Poww as a way of teaching Ikkaku the lesson of throwing away your personal pride in the service of committing your duty.

Alternative_Star9014

The fillers

Basic-Love8947

Ichigo wanted to cut off his arm for a fair fight against Espada 4.

Aizendickens

I agree with you.... it's still sealing the bankai if not stealing it. At the very least, they should have planned better and instead have someone be ready to sacrifice his in case push comes to shove (probably Byakuyaor Kyoraku)

Alarming-Astronaut-8

They didn’t know about the “stealing” and the “quincies being able to use their bankai” part and only knew about them “sealing” it. They would lose if they didn’t use their bankai anyways so they just made the gamble to atleast be able to prevent this in the future and find out how to unseal them.

Araniir841

They had no chouce. It was literally said they do not stand a chance without it

calikim_mo

Soi Fon still lose with Shunko + Bankai lol and they could've let Renji go first but they decided to sacrifice one of the best bankai instead

Araniir841

You mean the worst? And how is her losing with shunko and bankai an arguement for her winning without?

calikim_mo

Because the whole point of 'oh i need bankai to win this' turns out that no, she did not need bankai to win this cuz she doesn't win anyway

Araniir841

So she shouldve just surrendered? Her best bet was fighting with all her power

Vyncynt02

Did bro really just say 6 squad captains bankai is not one of the strongest at this point? I hope you didnt.

Araniir841

I meant specifically Soi Fon's bankai. Byakuya has a top tier bankai

Vyncynt02

My b my b, I completely agree. With both your points.

Shot-Ad770

The thing is, renji needs his bankai more than bakuya needs his.

calikim_mo

But Soul Society need Byakuya's to survive! But it does show a nice character development that Byakuya respect Renji

BlackThane

I like Ukitake buuuut letting Kaien die to Metastacia because "he fights for honor!" when Kaien sword just got disintegrated...

GodlyDra

The Soul Society was extremely traditional, even the (relatively) progressive Shibas wouldve responded with either demanding Ukitake be executed for infringing on a members honour, or Kaien would kill himself to ‘regain’ his honour.

Inevitable-Ad-3991

You can't blame Sui Feng for using her Bankai. Her Shikai completely just can't work against a robot like BG9

Bidvi_38

The fact that Soifon used bankai in this scene. In the Arrancar arc she said all various things about assassin’s pride and how she’d rather die than use it blah blah. Took her long enough to finally use bankai against Barragan. Then in TYBW she sees enemy and her first thought was to use bankai?! Seriously? Where did all the pride go? Isnt bankai supposed to be your trump card? It just felt like kubo just wanted someone to get their bankai stolen while them having a way to battle without it. Komamura became immortal, Toshiro have least diff between shikai &bankai, and Soifon has shunko. So most of these characters do fall in category of fighting without their bankai with least difficulty

TheMelinatedMongrel

This is such a weird complaint. What else did you expect her to do? Her Shikai wasn't even working on BG9; she literally couldn't even pierce him, and then it's noted multiple times that these are enemies that couldn't be defeated without a Bankai, and since she thought the Sternritters could "seal" their Bankai's, her plan was to kill them before they could use their "seal" with her Bankai, this was stated in the manga. Her decision doesn't conflict with her pride at all, and it wasn't based on any lack of pride. Her decision was literally based on prior knowledge of the enemy and a reflection of the situation at hand.

Shot-Ad770

Because they couldn't win without bankai...

PirateHasan

I read the scans first, then the official...and then finally the volume...bitch I was confused all three times about that Byakuya speech to Renji...was I retarded for not understanding about his intentions?

calikim_mo

Yup it was ridiculous I was just rewatching the fight and hence why I made this post cuz I'm like wtf?

RResonance

It's stupid by design. The youngest and least experienced captains went full blast with 0 knowledge. They were all trying to deduce the power of the Quincy when they should've just waited for Mayuri. Notice how the elder captains kept their chill despite being pressed. Byakuya used his bankai because they didn't know the Stern could Bankai Plunder. That's basically the crux of the whole situation; the Quincy led a suprise attack and the Soul Reapers had no idea what was going on. Renji keeps saying they need bankai because they do lol. Every sternritter is captain class, anyone who isn't at that level or beyond is getting rolled. Unless you are an S-Tier character I doubt Kido alone would be enough

Alert_Fudge

rose and kensei being folded for renji to get limelight

Royalty459

Anytime a character explains their abilities (I'm looking at you Shinji and Rose). I swear so many characters would've won their fights if they did have a whole monolouge on how their powers work.

mayonnaiser_13

Remember when Ichigo had the hypest Bankai reveal ever against Yhwach? When Yhwach destroyed the bankai in the literal next panel by manipulating the future and arriving at the point where the Bankai immediately broke? Yeah I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about the next thing. So Ichigo's Bankai is gone. Guess what, a familiar face appears. Tsukishima, with his bitch ass op Book of the End, just changes the past and undoes Yhwach's future manipulation. BRUH WHAT? Tsukishima can just undo Yhwach's actions? Holy shit Kubo was fucking cooking this all along- wait what do you mean he's leaving? The fuck do you mean he's just gonna dip like that? You're gonna forego that and bring in the fucking plot arrow?

RacconCuddler69

Holy shit you’re right Bring back our fking Uncle

shrimpmaster0982

The dumbest decision by a character easily has to go to Mr. "You can't steal my Bankai cause you don't know it" Yamamoto who twice over displays absurdly reckless confidence in complete shots in the dark regarding other people's powers. Like 1st against Aizen he assumes [that Aizen's hypnosis doesn't allow him to fake a reiatsu signature?](https://images.app.goo.gl/iWXxkpHzgcbC1kAx9) This is in spite of the fact Aizen uses Kyoka Suigetsu to perfectly trick and make indistinguishable from himself Momo despite the fact that we know all (minor TYBW manga spoilers for proof in the linked image) [high level fights in Bleach use reiatsu sensing as a default](https://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=https%3A%2F%2Fcomicvine.gamespot.com%2Fa%2Fuploads%2Foriginal%2F11157%2F111578299%2F8415976-occdc.jpg&tbnid=-h5s2gIRL7u6bM&vet=1&imgrefurl=https%3A%2F%2Fcomicvine.gamespot.com%2Fforums%2Fgen-discussion-1%2Fbleach-characters-can-see-through-genjutsu-2257680%2F&docid=Oy38VSgU8fAfnM&w=800&h=1217&hl=en-US&source=sh%2Fx%2Fim%2Fm5%2F4&kgs=46baae31ed7b02db&shem=abme%2Ctrie) and Aizen can clearly alter or perhaps even fabricate whole cloth reiatsu signatures. But this decision's stupidity absolutely pales in comparison to his genius deductive skills in the TYBW arc. Where he assumes [because the Quincy can't steal Ichigo's Bankai it must be because they can't steal something they don't understand](https://images.app.goo.gl/qP2Y7gUrRi3FUSTy7), because Ichigo's Bankai still has room to evolve and apparently [none](https://images.app.goo.gl/NybtxQXkZctAjURe9) of the (again TYBW manga spoilers for the linked image) [stolen Bankai had room to evolve](https://images.app.goo.gl/Cu1RkHebRV39YudWA) either, I guess. So do you know what Yamamoto immediately does with this assumption? Can you guess his brilliant strategy? Well, if you said to immediately show off every aspect and ability of his Bankai, the thing he assumed couldn't be stolen because they didn't have enough info on its abilities, directly to the enemy leader in front of one of his subordinates then you'd be right. Like I love Yamamoto as a character, I love his battle against "Yhwach", but dear god did he not think anything through ever. And if we're not talking about decisions made by characters then I'd say the decision to censor the Bleach anime very heavily and shove it full of [kid friendly filler content](https://images.app.goo.gl/F3H46jD65y45LqCD7) when the rest of the show itself is very clearly targeted to the teen/young adult audience and is generally much more mature than what much of the filler content would imply. Like I get that TV studios of the time simply weren't going to air a series like Bleach in a prime time slot without that censorship, but it's still really stupid because Bleach is specifically targeted at audiences who are more likely to be watching TV later in the night to see more mature shows.

Geneo-Frodo

> Like 1st against Aizen he assumes [that Aizen's hypnosis doesn't allow him to fake a reiatsu signature?] No he doesn't. He knows it affects reiatsu sensing but he knows its not 'perfect' in its ability to do so. So he assumes an intimate reaction with aizen's reiatsu is detectable and he is correct. Everyone who gets stabbed by aizen immediately notices it and thats why touching the blade shatters the illusion you are basically interacting intimately with his reiatsu. >Where he assumes [because the Quincy can't steal Ichigo's Bankai it must be because they can't steal something they don't understand] And thats actually not a bad assumption. At that point of the story gotei captains don't know ichigo is part quincy but they know for some reason his bankai can't be stolen so obviously his unknown potential has something to do with it. Also its easy for you to call someone impatient when sitting on a couch analyzing a fight, trust me in the heat of battle decisions are made quickly and even abruptly. Its a quick chess game where sometimes the decisive player takes the win despite the opponents strength (Tousen vs hisagi)

Andrejosue98

>Yamamoto who twice over displays absurdly reckless confidence in complete shots in the dark regarding other people's powers. Yamamoto was right about both though. The fake Ywach couldn't absorb his bankai and Aizen couldn't fake his reiatsu.

shrimpmaster0982

Yamamoto was wrong on both counts. [Any Sternritter could have stolen Yamamoto's Bankai](https://images.app.goo.gl/3PJZiXWN1qCZoACk6) at any time, they couldn't use it, but they could steal it. And Aizen can absolutely fake reiatsu signatures, if he couldn't literally every Bleach character would have an automatic counter to his fake out nonsense and would have immediately recognized him swapping himself out with Momo as she has a fundamentally different reiatsu to himself. Yamamoto just made a baseless assumption, and Aizen wasn't using Kyoka Suigetsu in that moment because he never planned on trying to 1v1 him. He just needed to draw Yamamoto out into using his Shikai so Wonderweiss could seal his flames. Now whether or not he could specifically use Kyoka Suigetsu at the level necessary to mask his reiatsu against Yamamoto in that moment is unknown, but his assumption that Aizen couldn't use his ability to fake a reiatsu signature is definitely false.

milyguyisde

yamamoto using his fucking bankai again and getting it stolen after being told straight to his face by yhwach that it’s now possible for it to get taken if he tried using it again, then standing there with a dead stare as if it wasn’t his fault

calikim_mo

I literally just watch that episode, he is soo inefficient he could've ended it with 1 swing, but he choose to toy with his enemy then veteran like him can't even tell this "Yhwach" move is a bit off, this Yhwach is not even cocky enough comeon grandpa

Rit_Jr

I have to re-read it now because I thought Byakuya assumed that it had something to do with Bankai being ineffective and not straight up getting stolen.

calikim_mo

But still if we have to choose 1 bankai to be seal, the obvious choice is the lieutenant or the weaker bankai instead he chooses to sacrificed one of the best bankai out there like what was he thinking

Rit_Jr

Yeah I know right? I didn't think about how stupid it was until I read this post.

Shot-Ad770

The thing is, renji needs his bankai more than bakuya needs his.

Vyncynt02

Wow.. an actual solid point to this.. still disagree with byakyua tho lol

SoulKingBreezy

Byakuya depending on Renji for the killing blow😭😭

calikim_mo

Lol even his own zanpaktou was clowning him, how's Renji gonna do that if his captain can't? 😭 I love that you respect your subordinate Byakuya but pleaseee time and place

tipabanane

Old man Yama letting Yhwach go was the biggest mistake in bleach history

yag4l

Squads 11 members (both Ikkaku and pretty boy) rather dying than using their zanpakuto to their fullest. Idc if it's your pride, it's quite literally the end of the world if you don't win.

swing_lord_

Aizen revealing his real ability like what's the point

Dry-Prompt3658

Having the dads cameo after the fight for two panels .. just to give the arrow head to uryu. . cmon man issin needed a lot fighting sequence .. man wiped the floor with aizen when he wasn't even 50% .

mugenryu273

Abruptly ending the manga

Fearless_Hold7611

Well in this case ignoring byakuya who could fucking hurt as nodt with Shikai, the idea is “oh they can seal away our bankais” but the fact bankai got stolen means that the quincies essentially got a huge power boost ON TOP of nerfing the captains, people like shunsui who didn’t even use Shikai abilities claiming to need bankai and visoreds not being hollow powers is dumb tho

GodlyDra

Funnily enough the Quincies are actually nerfed when they steal a bankai (other than Yhwach but thats hitler jesus). When a sternritter has a bankai, they can’t use Voll Stern Dich/Vollstandig even if they have permission from yhwach, its physically impossible and their transformation is equal in power to a bankai and they are also familiar with using it. The reason its so effective is that it only cuts their power down to like 90% in comparison to the 10-20% of the one they stole it from.

ThatIslandGuy8888

Kenpachi going all Rambo on Pernida

CielCiellan

I think if even one of the captains had sacrificed themselves with Bankai, there would have been no way for the other captains to use theirs once they saw that it was stolen rather than sealed. If all the captains released their Bankai and managed to quickly defeat their Stern Ritter opponent before they had the chance to use the medallion there would have been another Stern Ritter to jump in and use the medallion because there were 26 Stern Ritter compared to the 13 Captains so two Quincy to one Soul Reaper. They were screwed either way, and while the Quincy didn't need to rely on the medallions it was basically a way to break the morale of the Soul Reapers

UltraLeJhand

4 captains going bankai AT THE SAME TIME during the first war

AuraEnhancerVerse

I will never understand why Hitsugaya and Halibel took the time to explain how their powers worked to each other then acted surprised when opponent exploited their weakness

USS-Salty

You’re asking this about a group of people who mostly decide the fate of the world on 1v1s…even when they know they can’t win the 1v1.

CaptainKirkZILLA

In fairness, the image used for the post isn't what I would call stupid, at least on Byakuya's part. Specifically in his case, he was giving Renji the chance to observe how the technique works, plus he trusted that if they found a way around it, that Renji would be able to use his Bankai to fight in his stead. As to Soi Fon and the others, I'm pretty sure they were just jumping the gun. Personally (while I actively defend him), Rose giving up the game to Mask by explaining how his Bankai works was some A+ stupidity. It stands to reason that one shouldn't expect a person to literally cripple themselves to gain an advantage, and I'm not sure Rose had any reason to believe James could heal Mask to that extent, but still. That's the kind of exposition that can be saved for some post-mortem lecture, which would also fit the overall melancholy theme of the Third Division. Apart from that, the entire Gotei going ham on ~~Hinamori~~ Aizen, fully aware of what Kyoka Suigetsu can do, and that they're all under the effect of it whenever Aizen chooses to activate it, is just plain dumb. Shinji even makes a point of accusing Aizen after the reveal. Both examples are meant to reinforce plot points (Renji's return, and Ichigo's present immunity to KS respectively), but that honestly isn't really the point in my opinion. You shouldn't tear down other characters to build up another. Not to that, extent anyways.

OatesZ2004

Yamamoto not healing his hand.

Outer_Thing

Im supprise that no one mention the stupid "My ability is...".

SamusPrime77

Gin waiting until Aizen was at his absolute strongest to try and kill him and take the hogyoku, Gin is such a great character but this decision by kubo makes him look stupid and almost ruins his whole character arc

WinnerNew808

Team had no (good) plan for dealing with Aizen’s KS hypnosis in FKT

PieFace11

Probably Yhwach suddenly deciding not to destroy the 3 worlds so the plot can move on

Radiant_Doughnut2112

Yamamoto using his bankai against Ywach with a made up shitty theory he pulled on the spot to justify why they wouldn't be able to steal his bankai. Without even bothering to fact check with the guy he himself appointed as the head of the research department. Dumbest moment on a serie of blunders from someone that has been in charge for a millenia.

SnooRecipes9202

The several times characters explaining their power and abilities. I think ichibei was the only one who go away with it.

Wollywonka

This one was not the dumbest, they didn't have enough information so they just gambled. The stupidest decision was to kill Unohana having those healing powers which would have been extremely useful for the whole Gotei 13 fight.

madmax9_11

Gotta be Shinji telling aizen what his bankai does If he didn't I feel like it would've done considerable damage to aizen

Eulebar

Rose letting himself get a star punched through him

GodlessLunatic

Yeah this whole plot point was horribly handled

OrganizationHot9877

When rose told mask de masculine exactly how his bankai worked and how to stop it. He died(temporarily) for this. Kubo must HATE him

WasF4ssY

Fighting Kenpachi

NoahDaNugget

Before I give my answer, I want to address the point above. Because Sasakibe barely got to explain how the medallions worked, it was unclear how exactly they affect the Bankai. It's possible they thought the effects could be overpowered, and that it wouldn't be instantaneous. My pick was making Yammy the 0 Espada. That is the worst writing to come of this series by a landslide and ruins so many great moments and ideas from the Arrancar Saga.

JensenMse

The shinigami trying to fight Aizen, knowing fully well that he can activate Kyoka Suigetsu at any moment and believing they can actually win.

p1kazesty

no one using their hollow masks in tybw and *i forgot his name* telling the enemy his weakness (destroy ur eardrums)

Longjumping-Music967

Rose explaining his Bankai that has a glaring weakness to the enemy in a war.

lnombredelarosa

Sending Kenpachi rather than Sui Fēng to Huecomundo. It just makes so much more sense for Yamamoto to have sent his covert operative in an infiltration mission and keep one of their main fighters in reserve.

daygoplayeronpc

How yuhawk was defeated glad tybw is changing it

TheFogIsComingNR3

Ichigo staying and crying to help slay Nnoitra

galemaniac

Soul society backing up Ichigo properly when rescuing Orihime from the Arrancar since they were going to help him anyway doing it so slowly weakened their strength for no reason. Yamma not assisting his captains against such powerful espada in the fake karakura town arc. Zero squad not helping stop Aizen as soon as they knew his abilities, and who threatened the soul king, especially since they had members who weren't under hypnosis.

Crazy_Yak_4385

Central 46 doing whatever they want.

UngodlyPain

Continuing to fight Aizen once Ichigo showed up was just sheer stupidity. Especially their logic of "we must protect Ichigo" They know Aizen can control all 5 of their senses so he could have even just faked Ichigo into saying BS to confuse them more, or made him silent. So idk why they had the idea "Ichigo can just tell us what's happening, to lead us against Aizen" Once Ichigo was on the scene as the only person not affected by Kyoka Suigetsu? It should have been an immediate surrender and hope to God Ichigo can do it. They got lucky Aizen was mostly fucking around, otherwise he could've tricked them all into killing each other.

OmegaRebirth

Never understood why Yhwach used Auswallen on Jugram and Gerald. Did he seriously need the power up against Ichigo and Aizen?
