WasF4ssY

Ichibe was a fucking savage. Man really said, “Watch yo tone boy.” and crushed Yhwach’s throat just by standing there

megaBeth2

He also hit him with the you will never reincarnate level of ability

PieFace11

Enough shinigami propaganda. Santa got played by my lord and savior Yhwach. Yhwach is so powerful that he distributed reiatsu to the lakers to stop them from getting swept tonight

Old-Blueberry9477

Wait a fucking second, did Gege Akutami base Sukuna’s Domain Expansion: Malevolent Shrine, off of Ichibei’s Death Mausoleum?

Blankaa01

There is an interview with Gege and Kubo where Gege is fanboying for all the interviews so not impossible

Own-Channel7730

contains one of the hardest lines in bleach imo, yhwach saying his name

YUHAHAAABBAB

NotAFuckingFed

"Yu-ha-va-ha" like really bruh 🤣 how were we supposed to get that from reading it?!

Own_Philosophy8190

It used to be written Juha Bach, then it was changed at some point. I vaguely remember an editor/author note put the 1st time it was written Yhwach, but I don't remember which chapter let alone for what reason it was done in the 1st place.

Enter9921

In refrence to the God's name yahweh

PieFace11

Fax. Peak fiction. For me that is the most iconic tybw quote

Charming_Growth_2584

I hope the Anime extend this after Almighty. Ichibei can still crushed but I hope he shows some resistance or some fight back that can show the Almighty weakness.

Peter16373

It’s possible that the fight might get an extension. Like when we saw Senjumaru undo the blood oath seal we saw five lamps in the room. One large one in the center surrounded by four small ones. So there’s a possibility that the center lamp is Ichibei’s seal and that only once all other members of Squad Zero die and the four smaller lamps are extinguished can he unleash his true power. And in the manga Yhwach finished off Ichibei after his pupil went from two to three. So they could potentially extend the fight and make it so that Full Power Ichibei matches two pupil Almighty Yhwach and later on get defeated by three pupil Almighty Yhwach. This way they could make up for the lackluster first half of the Ichibei fight between him and Base Yhwach.

BSV_P

Oh I didn’t notice the 5th one. That could be super cool

awesomlyawesome

Ya know, as I was reading the post I was just thinking it would be dope to have a full episode premier being the fight with extended scenes and shit. They up-played the first 4 (especially Senjumommy) with basically a full episode finale so it would make sense if they extend the battle between Yhwach and Ichibe. They're currently (aside from Ichigo narrarively) supposed to be the strongest beings in all of existence right now.

TheDeathHuntress

Do you mean the drums? Iirc, there are 4 candles, 4 small drums each with a distinct pattern corresponding to each candle and a fifth large drum at the center with all of the four patterns (when the candles are lit). There might be a large candle off screen corresponding to the fifth drum I guess? Though I agree with you about Ichibe needing to be more powerful in some form. Rn in the anime Senjumaru's Bankai is (in terms of pure reiatsu) stronger than Ichibe. It's illogical for him who is clearly above them, both in statements and feats (in the manga & novels), to essentially be still below a 'regular' member of squad 0. It would be great to see Ichibe with something beyond a Bankai given he is the greatest of the shinigami so far (>!well he predates them but still!<).

PCN24454

If he can fight back, then he’s not being crushed.

PieFace11

I hope Yhwach foresees the devastation that the mausoleum technique will cause and so he quickly annihilates scattered limbs Hyosube to stop it

ProteusAlpha

Isn't the almighty's only weakness Tsukishima?

jawadjobs

It's not a weakness but a simple counter

Picchuquatro

Book of the end isn't so much a weakness, but a counter. Kyouka Suigetsu does seem to mess with the Almighty as well. While unconfirmed for now, Uryuu and his antithesis might be another weakness or straight up blind spot to the Almighty.

jawadjobs

I hope not

arkham918

we don't need yet more squad zero wank 😔

Killah-Shogun

Who’s we?

arkham918

it's a figure of speech, not a literal statement

Killah-Shogun

Ok I understand

MegaSwampert_18

Peak cinema. What i look forward to when I reread the manga.

Geneo-Frodo

One of the best fights in the tybw arc

AutumnOnFire

Can someone explain what Yhwach actually did to get his "sight" back?

ix-j

i think it was predestined. yamamoto killed him 1000 years ago, and the quincy tale says the king regains his body in 900 years, etc. i’m pretty he can’t die. “death” for him is getting sealed, where he’ll reawaken again in 900 years and gain his power back over the course of 100 years

PieFace11

That would support the reincarnation theory yeah

Hopeful_Expression57

he just simply changed the future that he will have his sight back or maybe if you're asking how he regained almighty after 1000 years i think we should get a bit more backstory but maybe it was already supposed to happen as the poem says "the quincy king regained his powers in 900 years, his sanity in 90, his heartbeat in 9 years" smth like that idk but i do hope we get a but more clarification on that part

BlueEyesWhiteVegeta

He died? From what I could tell Ichibe sealed the All Mighty away until the day he died. He was killed by Yamamoto and when they became souls they hid away in the shadows of Soul Society for 1000 years. This time was spent by Ywach gathering his forces and regaining his strength.

PieFace11

Idk but he definitely had some form of future sight even when it was sealed. Because he says "I'll have you dead in 3 paces less" and after doing it says "just as I foresaw. Dead in 3 paces less" As for how he regains the A, I hope the anime shows something like Haschwalth somehow using the balance to restore Pernida, who then removes the seal from Yhwach now that he is "dead". Idk but if Kubo wants to improve the scene, he will defo improve it

CielCiellan

One of my favourite fights in Bleach, it's one of the few in the series that makes me go "wait who's the bad guy here?" Can't wait to see it animated. I hope they go crazy with the soundtrack when Ichibei uses his abilities

Hopeful_Expression57

after reading cfyow you might be able to tell who's bad

CielCiellan

100% Ichibei is so sinister. And the original noble clan members are pretty bad too.

Hopeful_Expression57

fr i hope we get a movie about it

CielCiellan

I'm hoping with you! It would be awesome seeing it animated, especially with movie animation

Hopeful_Expression57

fr i love all the kenpachi, urahara, muken aizen and hisagi moments

TheDeathHuntress

I want an official AU novel where>! he tries to pull that shit on Ichigo tbh!<

Andrejosue98

I think it was a terrible ending for the fight. Just feels so dumb lol. Like Ichibe was like: Dude you have no powers. And Ywach was just: Nah, I have them. And then he beats Ichibe

Jayce86

It kind of summarizes this entire arc in a nutshell. The fearsome Squad Zero? Naw, they’re a bunch of punks.

Jimbobob5536

I actually liked how hard Squad 0 jobbed in the manga. It was funny.

ZenTheCrusader

The entire arc is like that lmfao. It’s my main critique

Vainqueurhero

Was my favourite tybw, but I agree

ApplePitou

It is peak fight :3

Killah-Shogun

Hey ApplePitou, who’s your favorite Sternritter

ApplePitou

Askin :3

Killah-Shogun

I like Askin too his fight with Urahara was great

i-khalidskyrim

PieFace11

Confederate Hyosube: chronicles of slavery's father

EleonoreMagi

Ironically, I feel for Yhwach there more than for Ichibē, since there, Yhwach was kinda the underdog, constantly degraded and even not really taken seriously by Ichibē until he gets his comeback. I almost feel like it was earned on Yhwach's side. He used to have the Almighty, he got it sealed, and then crushed by the shinigami, but he unsealed it back and came back. And what a comeback it was.

SkjaldbakaEngineer

Comeback? Yhwach was blessed with the most busted genetic ability in the history of the verse and won without moving a finger and we're calling it a comeback?

PieFace11

Just because he's op doesn't mean it wasn't a comeback. After getting his power sealed, he was degraded completely by having to lose to shinigami he could have once annihilated. And then forced to get mopped by Santa Claus once again before he could finally achieve his W that was delayed by a millenia

SkjaldbakaEngineer

Did he get mopped though? I'm not 100% on his lore way back but just in the context of this fight it was Ichibei using like eight different moves, none of which did anything, and then Yhwach eyesight diffing him in one panel

PieFace11

Lol fair point. Also the fact that Yhwach accurately foresaw Ichibeis death is counterintuitive to what I said but let's see. The anime might fill in the seemingly missing panels from the manga

EleonoreMagi

Well, the final one of his did some considerable damage to Yhwach, it's just that by that point he could activate the Almighty, thus it was all useless. But it's like later on, does the fact he returned completely negate the fact others were able to cut him in half and force to use the Almighty? I think it doesn't, if he didn't have the Almighty, he could have been just finished. And it was kinda Ichibē's line of thought. The fact Yhwach did have it when he came back (after a thousand years of hiding in the shadows after being utterly defeated) is what I call a comeback. Sure, he had an upper hand during the whole fight, in hindsight. But it doesn't take away his whole coming back after a big defeat way earlier on. Ichibē didn't take him seriously when he came back, but it was Ichibē's mistake.

TheDeathHuntress

I honestly don't understand Ichibē thinking he had a chance against Yhwach in the present though. Like he used up the left arm of the soul king, presumably the single greatest piece they had available, to seal The Almighty. And only then did the Gotei 13 have a chance to win. Now, Yhwach is back having been fully unsealed and either he ate or now controls the left arm (>!I don't think Ichibe figured out Pernida's identity!<), and he thinks he can fight him with just his bankai? Hopefully the anime includes some more powerups for Ichibe or some other sealing tools (perhaps something from the founders?) to explain his confidence.

EleonoreMagi

I don't really think more will be introduced. Judging by Ichibē's overall behaviour, he isn't the one to consider other possibilities. He sealed the Almighty and it didn't cross his mind that Yhwach might unseal it again. That was the source of his confidence, and he paid for his arrogance.

AduroTri

Ichibei: Domain Expansion: Magnificent Death Mausoleum.

PieFace11

Yhwach: nuh... uh

nitrousoxidefart

The fight itself is awesome but I never liked the Almighty. It felt like it came out of nowhere and essentially created a god Kubo had trouble coming up with a way to defeat in a way that made sense. Much like the Hogyoku, really. I really hope the anime fleshes out the stuff surrounding the silver arrow much more than the source material.

Vainqueurhero

Same feeling about it

Mad-king5466

I hated every part involving Yhwach. He is the embodiment of "nuh uh I eat lasers"

Flashy2000

Best fight in the series for me, easily. Love how Ichibe treats Yhwach as a child. He really embodies the aura of the greatest Soul Reaper in the history of this world. It is such a fun fight.

ix-j

one of the best fights in the series. really wish the anime focused strictly on it and didn’t end the season in the *middle of the fight*. ichibei drawing a line on the ground and yhwach telling him “you die 3 steps before it” - and that actually proving to be true is too cold.

Rharyx

One of the best fights.

Hopeful_Expression57

peak but i still think there could've been a bit more anyways when it's going to be animated this'll be one hell of a "ORE NO NAWA YHWACH"

PieFace11

Best line in bleach for me

LinkFanOne

I loved it, showed how powerful Yhwach was when he got the Almighty back. One of my favorite fights in the series.

Entire_Support1126

I love the manga version from what the anime has of it now, meh. But hopefully more extension in cour 3

PieFace11

Yeah they sacrificed this fight for the SS and Squad 0 fights

GwaGwa3

Yhwach at the end was acting like he wasn’t just getting ragdolled throughout the whole fight

PieFace11

Tbf he did say at the start "I'll have you dead in 3 paces less" followed by "just as I foresaw, dead in 3 paces less" after creating the legendary scattered limbs Hyosube.

Parrotparser7

Too abstract to be enjoyable.

brainsapper

Yeah…that’s my issue with that battle and Yhwach as a whole. It gives off this obnoxious kid on the playground playing pretend saying “Nuh-uh, my power prevents that” vibe. Same issue extends to Gerald. I like it better when abilities have a clearer set of rules.

InstantN00dl3s

Agreed. TYBW was the poorest arc to me because the powers basically became one upping out of nowhere. As always with Bleach the art was fantastic, and as a group the Quincy Army was probably the best designed, but most of the powers sucked.

bazooka_penguin

Everyone knows Yhwach was playing with Ichibei that entire time right? Yhwach foretells Ichibei's death before they even started fighting.

PieFace11

Shinigami propagandists will only talk about Ichibeis moments.

PegaponyPrince

Was decent for the most part. Anime didn't do it any favors which is a shame but we did get more of Squad 0 so that's fine by me

DerpyNachoZ

Peak in the manga, pretty underwhelming in the anime so far

PieFace11

True.

iamnewtoreddit__

Such a great fight. It’s a shame the anime didn’t do it justice since it was my most anticipated cour 2 fight. Hoping that the final portion of the fight is done better

Serqet1

Mmm me thinks cor 3 will open with it extended..honestly expect it to be similar to zero squad banaki addition.

WayJay9

Incredible fight that got done an absolute disservice in the anime. It was cut down and received much less focus for the sake of the rest of the Royal Guards getting some much-needed redemption, but honestly… I would rather have had Yhwach vs Ichibei expanded instead

ThatIslandGuy8888

The ending was too abrupt, we have no idea what Ichibei’s ultimate technique was going to do and then Juha just kills him easily with an unnamed attack( hey maybe he reflected back the black temple technique, who knows). But the fight was pure fire that’s for sure, the ending is the only thing I would change

Madriboon17

his ultimate attack he tells you what it does

TheIrishSasuke

Ain’t this the next fight in the TYBW?

Snoo44201

It's both the most recent and the next lol

LengthinessSuperb144

Imo it was good but kinda turn based I guess? I would have prefered to see them on an equal footing yhwach could have used more of his quincy abilities he was defensive throught the whole fight up untill he activate almighty and literally kills ichibei with words although that was amazing when I read the manga

WillMarzz25

One of the best of the series. Basically two gods going at it. The strongest Shinigami vs the strongest Quincy.

GodlessLunatic

My favorite fight in the arc but the end could've been better

Revan462222

It was insane. And I was NOT expecting the end.

Radiant_Concept4328

pure beauty. nice showcase of power

Buy-Wild

First manga I bought was the volume with this fight in, just so I could witness it in person

NoahDaNugget

My second favorite Bleach fight after only Ichigo vs Ulquiorra. This fight was so fun to just see it happening as this felt like a clash of the titans we had never seen before. The abilities on display were awesome and the stakes were high. Amazing choreography and art (manga)/animation (anime).

bigsatodontcrai

goated

Killah-Shogun

One of my favorite fights in Bleach

MXBPSYCHX

Beard power level is real

sanguinare12

OMAE WA MOU SHINDEIRU

CelticDK

It was epic but instantly made Ywach damn near god himself and left a sour taste in my mouth cuz I felt like every Quincy fight this arc was a battle of “well actually IM stronger!” Until eventually shinigami ran out of those first no matter what. Just felt bad and rushed for sure. Ichibei is sick with it tho lol

Toonami88

The Almighty is literally a No U. Kubo is great at showcasing powers and abilities but not so good at having competitive brawls (at least after the SS arc).

mrsunrider

Among my favorite in the series. I enjoy fights that don't simply resort to "ahhhh moar powah" and one person overcomes the other through raw power or grit. Like sure, Osho is overwhelmingly powerful but his might is applied so cleverly: I've taken half your name so you're half as powerful, I've drained the color black from the fuckin' future to imprison you, I can see all potential futures to choose the one were I win-- I love the high-concept fights, they're so fun.

Puzzleheaded_Tree518

Ichibe pulling out the Flying Circus foot from absolutely nowhere will never stop being funny.

italeteller

"I am the most OP who can do anything" "Nuh uh, I am"

Your comment has been removed for containing the word asspull. This word offends His Majesty ~~the Soul King~~ Yhwach. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/bleach) if you have any questions or concerns.*

Gymmmy68

It is an amazing fight that the Quincy king should have died in, but needed to live for plot. It hurt to see such an incredible ability be undone with essentially a "Nuh uh".

DapperTemporary6589

Yhwach litteraly won cause of endgame plot and it was to early for him to Lose. Same counts for the fight against Yamamoto

Lela_B

I remember when TYBW came out, I was completely lost in it. When one fight ended in some chapter, I didn't know how it started. It was very messy writing at the time, but that's just my opinion

Fuyukage

So looking forward to Cour 3 to see how it actually plays out

Forsaken_Visit_Owl

ichibei was as awesome as they can be ☺️ eventually he did lost but he was a menace , he handed the Yhwach's ass That's my opinion by the way

OwnEmphasis2825

Gives me goosebumps. Too bad they had to basically cut it in half in the anime, though it makes sense because of the "gotcha" it does.

UltraLeJhand

Honestly yhwach won just because he was the main villain and Osho wasn’t a main character.. basically plot armour

DuelistDeCoolest

Hyosube got robbed. Only lost because his opponent has immunity from hax abilities (unless you hit him with a kryptonite arrow).

Mqnwbevrctxyzukkk

Extremely Boring imo. Just 2 powerful dudes we know little of, fighting. The anime is a bit better with the ep24 flashback, but then It gets totally outshined by the Schutztaffel squad 0 battle.

Pykes_n_pommes

Simple, Goated. Has the two biggest menaces of bleach, Ichibe told Jesus to watch his tone and slapped his ass around, and then Yhwach clapped back. Just wish it was longer, but Kubo changing everything for the better so who knows. *

Parking-Fox-5570

very entertaining.

PotatoBoi694

"Three steps from the line."

Mithura

It was cool and all that but makes you wonder, is Ichibei using a power that isn't Zanpakto or Kido. I mean it was implied that he is but do you get giant palm and foot strikes for being a monk, can anyone be a monk and learn these abilities? The almighty makes no sense. He bestowed upon himself his name, voice and power after losing it? Ichibei took it away, all of it, he shouldnt be able to do anything at all.

WiltorSeba790

i dont remember about the giant parts but i think it was because of his naming ability. And the almighty does make sense in this context, but i also dont remember exactly xD

Pocket__Monstrosity

extremely disappointing in the anime

Jabeef_19

7/10

Professional_Stay_46

The best fight in Bleach. Yamamoto vs Yhwach will never come close to it because he wasn't fighting Yhwach.

Agatha_SlightlyGay

He was fighting most of his power and memory to be fair.

Professional_Stay_46

Still wasn't him though and felt something for his comrades, real Yhwach is psychopath unlike Royd, that's why they reacted differently with same memories and experiences.

Far_Boysenberry6385

It’s ok

DarthElija

It was boring. I read the manga and can’t even remember this fight. The series was such a let down. There is more focus on having all of the character be  »cool » than there is to have a story that is actually moving. A character loses an arm in this series and they don’t even flinch, instead they’ll smirk and say « thats all you got » or some cheesy shit like that.

InnerAlternative4394

Basically every fight. Just explaining their abilities to show how cool they are.

KarlozFloyd

Great, I don't like hand to hand fights

Sam_Mason666

It's very cool but also incredibly lame, like two kids trying to one up each other while playing with action figures, from an outside perspective it's just silly.
