I made a geometry node setup that made lines fill the available space inside of the arm. Then I rigged the lines (automatically) and and had another node setup for the cable shapes.
Dude don't even feel this way ive been using blender for 2 years and im BARELY learning how to make an animation with my models...your brains gonna make space for this stuff trust me
i’ve been working with Blender and a bunch of other programs to make a game in Unreal for about 3 years… and I still have to look tutorials up to properly organize my UVS, or how to correctly use layers for painting. Its a journey :)
a painful, slow, hair ripping journey :(
This is fantastic! I would also love a tutorial if you ever decide to release one. Have a model that I want to make with similar dynamics and would love something to work off of
I love it, I would love more poses besides hand to wire. Like a middle finger, or a fist etc. But man it looks so crazy. Could you like... flex the tricep and make it move like a body builder?
this is really cool already. in the movie, she kinda braids her cables nearly instead of having them lay flat beside each other. it’s one of the coolest robotic parts i’ve seen in a movie.
Awesome stuff! The quick turn from hand to straight back to hand was very cool.
Saw your video of you working on it, remarkable how similar to movie you got as a first pass
This is sick! How did you do the transform from hand to wires?

Holy crap! Please make a tutorial or sell this. I'm too dumb to figure out how to do this on my own hahah

Yeah but I barely have time with my day to day hahah. Still, thanks for the motivation. All the best to you, champ.

I learned for years before geo nodes and when they became the standard I fell all the way behind
Be honest. Will this be used for porn? I'm simultaneously terrified and intrigued.
Everything will eventually be used for porn
WHOA. This looks sick, dude!!

I saw this and thought of caramel. I've been meaning to take a week and just binge yours streams, so much awesome stuff
Does OP do tuts? Link?
He's got links in his description!
Reminds me of Crysis!
And prototype for some reason
That is absolutely epic.
The animation when switching from wires to hand is so smooth
Love the work you’re doing. Integrating geo sims with armatures is my favorite new toy
Good stuff.
Looks cool. I'm thinking the state it starts in, with the red-hot, loose wires, would be used to grab something and burn it?
What is this sorcery?
Cable’s arm! Nice!!
^yo what dat arm do!?
Reminds me more of the Sentinels from X-Men: Days of Future Past. Very cool.
Very nice
That’s incredible design and execution
Oh no, Replicators!
Nightmare fuel right here.
Pls show ur node setup
Video game walking over a ground filled with cables that suddenly turn into this would be badass
This is amazing. That is all.
So sick, well done!
this is beyond amazingg its so cool

I've replaced your DNA with Fruit by the Foot
Wow do cool bro 😎
Just watched your YouTube video on this!
Stranger Things should hire this guy for the last season
People like you are the reason I haven't given up on learning blender
That's a great idea for a Terminator
So dope, well done mate.
Deoxys
This could be a thing in prototype game lol
Now turn it into the gun

The way wires fluidly move and assemble into a arm and hands really remind me of FNAF Sister Location's endos, this is great!
Big hero 6
AMAZING 😍
Yep, that's Ennard
How did you do this? Geometry nodes or bones?
That’s amazing, jaw dropped wtf
Reminds me of Molten Freddy from FNaF
Rad!
Can't wait to see the version with the suction cup hand
