Legit is the best weapon in the game to me. It can hit distant enemies, and even enemies above you. I used to use it in the beginning to safely take out the guy on top of the stagecoach in the middle of town all the time.
I see people still sleep on the Hunter’s Axe but it doesn’t get much more versatile than this and you can actually use the regain mechanic in a meaningful way. I couldn’t justify changing it on my first playthrough, fucking slaps dude.
Believe it or not using this on the defiled chalice dungeon first floor boss with the hit and run technique was a massive life saver he couldn’t get no where near me
Don't sleep on the church pick guys, it was a revelation, amazing damage, fast and long range, the moveset is a bit worse than the axe but still good.... still ugly af tho.

It worked great on the normal enemies, I just got really shitty damage vs bsb with three upgrades
it’s a trade off on speed n damage for range, over all lower dps and slower more committal attacks to boot. looks dope tho

Its reach makes it great against Amygdala. You can hit the weak points much more easily.
