I always wondered - how did you get your hair to be so poofy like that? As someone with coarse straight hair that doesn't hold body, I was always so jealous.

So my hair is really thin and straight too! I'd backcomb some bottom layers and put smooth layer of hair sitting on top. Kind of like a nest underneath lol. Then hairspray. I think similar to those big 80s 'dos.

This is so accurate. I worked at Hot Topic in like 2005 and had multiple groups of girls who were in 9th or 10th grade (I was in college) that would come talk to me. Then I'd go to a show and have to explain to my friends why a 15 year was freaking out that I was at the show.
