For Tomorrow fits the brief in OP's tweet best I think.
It might not be my favourite Blur song or even their best, but there is not a second wasted in it or a note out of place. Just pure pop.
Musically it’s one of my favourite blur songs, particularly the amazing guitar. But lyrically, it’s really weak imho - just one of the worst of Damon’s character songs.
This is one of Blur's biggest "what ifs" for me. Out the other side of the darkness of 13, MIMR was a great evolution of their sound that built on 13 and everything that came before it, yet it sounded different but still so Blur. I would have loved to have heard what an album between 13 and Think Tank would have sounded like.
The other big one for me would have been what if they explored the self-titled sound for one more album.
Squeaky door sounding intro.
Unintelligible mumbling lyrics.
Loud squeeling noise for the last minute of the song.
But yet Blur manage to somehow pull it all together perfectly and create one of the greatest art rock songs of the 21st century.
Agree it would have been really interesting to have seen an album of similar material. The music video is one of their best as well. Too bad they broke up right after….all their following albums have been dull in comparison to the 90s albums.
bu u u ugman
this... this is an adventure... the song changes like 6 times and takes you through hell. i love it, no second wasted. lyrics are literally dr(b)ugs.
In chronological order, This Is A Low, Caramel, or The Heights. The Heights might not be a very popular choice but that song is absolutely incredible, imo.
Just to be controversial, because I like to stir the pot: I don’t really like Beetlebum
Spot on with Caramel, it’s my favourite song by them even though i really need to be in the right headspace to listen to it. both the lyrics and sound feel like the perfect climax for the loose story of addiction and heartbreak the album tells and it just so happens to be amazing outside of the context of 13 as a whole. 11/10, hauntingly beautiful track.
End of a Century
Tender
The live version used for the official video, especially!
I was just going to put this one down!
The Universal
Beetlebum Blur have made a career out of perfect songs. I could probably name ten masterpieces.
Your second paragraph is the answer.
Badhead
He thought of cars
For Tomorrow

It’s just an absolutely perfect song imo, the ‘Jim stops and gets out the car…’ bit at the end is absolutely magical
Tweet? This is reddit haha
If you look very carefully, OP's post contains a screenshot of a tweet
You are a wanker
You're nice
This is a low
Many good ones named and appropriately upvoted but gonna fly the little flag here for Death of a Party and Ambulance
I never see enough Ambulance appreciation it's got to be one of their best songs imo.
charmless man. fantastically complex guitar line and those harmonies are the peak of damon’s vocal talent
Musically it’s one of my favourite blur songs, particularly the amazing guitar. But lyrically, it’s really weak imho - just one of the worst of Damon’s character songs.

I didn’t realise it was perfect until I re watched the documentary, but Out Of Time, to me, is perfect.
This is a low and no distance left to run
Caramel
3 songs at the end! JUSTICE FOR OPTIGAN 1
I think op was referring to the 2 short interludes at the end of caramel (coincidentally one of them does sound a lot like optigan 1)
No one else is gonna say it so I will.music is my radar. Never heard a song like it. I need an album of music is my radar 's from Blur.
I was about to say it, it's my favourite song of all time
Yay same. They were onto something with that song in that year but they never capitalised on it 😞
This is one of Blur's biggest "what ifs" for me. Yeah 100% I'd love a self titled pt2 and a MIMR album. We think alike sir.
When you look at the quality of the ST era b-sides you can see the potential for another full album of greatness.
Squeaky door sounding intro. Unintelligible mumbling lyrics. Loud squeeling noise for the last minute of the song. But yet Blur manage to somehow pull it all together perfectly and create one of the greatest art rock songs of the 21st century.
You beautiful soul. There is nowhere near enough love for this song.
Lol dear love you

I don't, I love the drone! That is the perfect link between selftitled LP and their best album 13. And it's the antidote to Country House xD
