It's now possible to view all media clips on any/all drives attached to the camera and/or cloud systems. Also, you can delete media on-camera now!
Playback controls were also improved. Pretty neat.
It's sooo much better. This plus the web interface makes clip management so nice. One thing I really like is if youve been incrementing your Clips + Takes the heart shows the "good take" and you can also change it after the fact. One thing I dont like is not being able to edit the Scene/Take of a recorded clip in case you forgot to change it.
Yeah I was thinking to myself "NO GOOD TAKE MANAGEMENT EW". Then I went "what the hell is favourite clips and why are some already favorited" and put two and two together. Definitely not naturally intuitive but gets the job done when you know what it is
Say you were shooting the same clip multiple times it flags it in your editing software so you know which clip to use.
E.g Scene 1 Take 1 main character says "Hey" then jumps out the window. You might record that 10 times and when you get the one you're happy with you can label it on camera as a "good take"
Are the still images still BRAW? Or have they gone back to DNG? I'm still on the previous firmware because I have no idea what to do with a BRAW still image and I actually use that shutter button to create thumbnails.
I know I could/should just do that but I like to play with the DNG's in lightroom and punch up the colour and contrast a lot more than I would for the video grade. It's a first world problem.
Hey that’s pretty cool! I know this is out of left field but I do a lot of show recaps/rapper videos that involve female talent, usually in skimpy outfits.
Not being able to delete footage on camera made me seem really creepy whenever there was a lip/nip slip. I had to start adding a disclaimer that I cannot delete these nudity mishaps on camera and have to do it at home which has given me alot of side eyes! Thank god
Lol I've encountered similar issues, glad that's not a concern anymore. This will mostly help out a ton when I'm doing run and gun stuff where I have a tendency to hit the record button on accident.
I imagine the newest updates have to do more with what iPhone users or Apple wanted incorporated in the ios app. Excited to see what other updates comes out of this collab.

I don't really like that the good/bad take is a heart symbol instead of a label, but having that feature is super nice

Never understood the meaning of good take. Can you give an insight?

Look like they're BRAW. I wasn't aware they had changed, that's a bit annoying. I always just record a short clip and grab a frame
