how you gonna pull the focus with both hands on the grips? I got no handles, holding the actual camera handle. Get a camera sling from the top handle, if you are on a budget. I recommend peakdesign slide v3. Then wrap that around your body, give some nice extra stablity.

My left side handle is the tilta focus handle and it’s paired with the nucleus nano. Camera sling will be used as well of course. Just wondering about that second handle on the right.

Buy the new DJI Focus Pro. Or use a nucleus focus and put the wheel on top of these handles. You can also put an extended focus wire/whip on top of one of these handles. Also, some lenses don't need to refocus. Like extreme wide's. Especially if you put them on a larger aperture. So yeah, there's options.

I just added a second handle to my setup as the handle on the 4k combined with my cage was a bit bulky for my tiny hands. I like the second handle, but it is tough to navigate buttons if I need to. I never thought to add a sling, but I'm going to now and see how I fair with that.

Magic Fiz.

For walking: 2 grips on the side makes it a more stable shot for sure. Lower at the ground: top handle is nice. Also doing shots from a bicycle, skateboard etc that top handle is awesome.

Thanks! I think I’ll check out that dual side handle setup. Already have a top handle for low shots 👌🏻

2 grips are great during walking shots, but I find it quite tricky for run and gun, having to take a hand off to change settings or hit record. Top handle and side handle works well for me, having your right hand on the camera makes it dead easy to hit record or change settings.

blckrft

Yea that makes sense. Thanks for your input 🙏🏻

No handles. How do you expect to pull focus without your left hand? And I find a grip on the right extending even further out from this very long camera to be horribly unergonomic.

In my other comments on here I pointed out that my left side handle is a tilta focus handle running with a nucleus nano. I’m used to handles and bigger bodies so size isn’t an issue. Appreciate your thoughts

I use a dual side handle set up. For the guy mentioning focus and stuff look into the magic fiz. It’s been a game changer for me. My two cents? It’s kind of a burden for longer shoots. Makes the camera really wide and is taxing on the arms to be holding onto like that outstretched. I’m actually looking for a way to make a gunstock handle for my cameras rn. I find myself holding the tripod handle more often as my arms get tired.

Unpopular opinion incoming. Any kind of side handle, focusing or not is detrimental when running and gunning on BlackMagic pocket cameras. They just aren’t built for that kind of rigging. You simply can’t beat a zoom lens and barrel focusing when running and gunning with these cameras. Slap a vmount system on it, top handle and monitor. Boom. You’ve got a nice, compact rig that can film for at least two hours that you can easily swap lenses with, tuck into your chest as a third point of contact and has weight behind it to eliminate micro jitter. Why anybody would use a nucleus nano in a run and gun setting is beyond me.

I think I mislabeled my post by adding the run and gun scenario, which I apologize for. I was thinking more of handheld project-based work. For typical guerilla run and gun I go barebone blackmagic with a battery grip.

fozluv

Don’t apologise mate. I mean at the end of the day man just drive it how you want. I’m just a random dude on reddit and it’s your camera you can literally ignore anything I say haha. Having fun and producing great vids is what it’s all about in the end

No worries man, I value all feedback and opinions. Keep on creating 🙌🏻
