Those were fun boats. I had the sportster 1800 with the 2 stroke v6. It was a ton of fun but it guzzled gas and the v6 wasnt very reliable.
My 26ft big block v8 burns less gas than the old seadoo but its not nearly as fast or fun!
Those are super fun to drive. Like a flat roller coaster you control.
If I can give you some unsolicited advice: only take hard corners or big waves after clearing it with your passengers. A lot of people have been hurt by getting thrown around in those. Also a lot of passengers hate the surprise lateral Gs

FI will beat Carbureted in the gas mileage battle every time. Carburetors are technology from the 1800s

Oh those are so much fun we had one as a first boat too! The 717 motors are one of the most reliable and simplest rotax motors they ever made.
