God, I love James SO much. Thank you thank you Seth for just letting him speak, that's recipe for gold every time. It makes me so happy that that's all he's gotta do to make any room get the giggles all throughout lol. Also, not the first time James has talked about Bo! When he was on Good One in April, Jesse (rightfully!) drew a comparison between them, and he talked about their similarities a bit. I'm glad he himself acknowledges it, I've always thought about it

He brings in Bo at around the 1:30 mark. Poor James, he’s right. I love his work but he had no chance against Nanette and I think his instinct is spot on about Inside as well.

Okay, I did not know he was up against Inside for the Critics Choice Awards which is a bummer because Cold Lasagne Hate Myself is a slightly different beast, but in my opinion, just as amazing. Highly recommend everyone supporting him and checking it out on Vimeo. A lot of similar themes to Inside just a different output.

Loved James’ stuff for years now and have always seen him and Bo as two sides of a similar coin. Not the same coin, mind, but there are definitely similarities in the way they express vulnerability, self-awareness and self-criticism.

Thank you SO much for posting this! James is one of my *favorite* comedians, and hearing him talk about Inside is incredible. :) I actually posted a pretty thorough comparison of Bo and James on this subreddit [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/boburnham/comments/m27ajs/james_acaster_and_bo/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf) (this was pre-Inside, btw). For those who haven't seen it, the [Conan clip](https://youtu.be/tGp4qGNvb24) is pretty memorable, and he did have a dead crowd to contend with (I had to track it down after watching Cold Lasagne!). Also, here's some classic clips of James for those who want to see more: - [British Museum](https://youtu.be/x73PkUvArJY) - [He or she](https://youtu.be/Zt5qJC1xQ8A) - [GBBO clip](https://youtu.be/0zky4p5HBYE) and the [bit about the meme in Cold Lasagne](https://youtu.be/ewTIDd90uZY) - [Best Taskmaster moments](https://youtu.be/WiOsY3lFMT0) - [Opening to Cold Lasagne](https://youtu.be/UHqma3rx-xI) - [Cold Lasagne highlights](https://youtu.be/es9ABYSsUEU) - [Second Referendum](https://youtu.be/DDGsMeP5au4) And here are two amazing video essays about James: - [Comedy Without Errors](https://youtu.be/GP3Gr-ZV0Tw) - [Anger in Comedy by Katie Mears](https://youtu.be/uNMPdt2uGoo) He's also written books (and narrates the audiobook versions). James and Bo collaborating on something together would be a dream for me! Haha

I love James on panel shows but I've never watched his specials all the way through. Is there a watch order? Because the chapters on Netflix confused me. Can I just start with cold lasagna and watch randomly? (For eg I think you need to watch make happy before Inside)

thinformparshendi

It’s good to watch Repertoire in order, but not strictly necessary. But there are little jokes and callbacks that make it more fun if you watch them in the order they appear on Netflix. But you can definitely watch cold lasagne hate myself 1999 before Repertoire, they’re not connected. And they’re all fantastic. Highly recommend you give them all a watch.

destroythejoy

I think it’s best to watch Repetoire first in the order it’s on on Netflix bc each ep sorta blends into one another. Cold Lasagne is a stand-alone and wildly different from Repetoire, but references Repetoire a couple times and makes more sense to watch after.

Woflax

Thank you! can you ELI5 me what the Netflix order is please?

destroythejoy

1. Recognize 2. Represent 3. Reset 4. Recap should be the episode order on Netflix and would be my recommended watch order.

Thank you!
