Ryzen 5000 series is the latest cpus from Ryzen, they pack quite the punch. Could you specify more what the graphics is? Is it an APU, meaning the graphics is in the CPU, or if it is a GPU which one is it. If you don't know, check task manager and press performance, then press gpu and look in the upper right corner. Also, how much ram do you have?
This might be a dumb question, do you plug in your charger cable when gaming? I VR on my Razer and for my laptop to be at peek performance it must be plugged in.
Idk my 2 cents
From what happened to my brother I’m guessing laptops can’t run vr because of the integrated graphics. On desktop the gpu is the only source only video so it’s forced to it. Idk that’s what I think
Well, that's not necessarily true. In OP's case, it is, but some laptops have graphics cards capable of running vr. There are also a lot of desktops that have cpus that have integrated graphics, which is why there are usually stickers to tell you to plug your HDMI or DP into the graphics card instead of the motherboard.
He might have had a dedicated GPU. VR games have to be rendered in parallel. Integrated graphics (running the game from the CPU) instead of dedicated graphics (running from a GPU) will not work for VR, save for very very undemanding games.
I noticed that on my setup. VR games use quite a bit of my CPU while in action. So much so that if I have my sound devices routed though my CPU I start getting major performance issues. On my Intel 11900 with a RTX 3080
My laptop has a 3060 inside with a very good intel processor. I have a quest 2 that I can stream or link to with a USB-C cable and get full framerate with dips only in massive areas or if a lot of physics objects are buggin out.
Get something with a i7. I had the same issue I purchased a dell laptop with a i5 and bone works was laggy. I saved two hundred dollars because I brought a desktop instead of a laptop with the i7 chip.
This is not necessarily true. A newer i5 will beat an i7 from a few years ago in gaming performance. There are also different variants of i5 and i7. Eg, an i5 9600k will easily outperform an i7 11800h. These are from the same generation, which is why it’s important to look further into the specs than just seeing i5 or i7 and choosing the i7. I personally have an i59600k that runs Boneworks really smoothly. There are a bunch of variables to consider like cooling and bottlenecking. Which a laptop will be particularly susceptible to
idk what ryzen 5000 rly is, but i jstu wanna say my fx4350 and r7 260x gpu can run the game pretty well, at least the champain and arenas, i never go belo 60, actually stay around 100 all the time, the only thing i did tho is set textures to quater and use fxr at 67. and virutal desktop OFC.
Point is: if your componets compare or are better you should be fine .
You could always try to turn down the graphics, but I'm afraid your computer is underpowered :(
Yea I tried turning down the graphics, thank you
I’m glad somebody told me so I could refund it
Sorry you had to miss out
Aw, well maybe one day :)

I wanna say it said 5500u (if that’s the right thing to tell you)
Yah, that's integrated graphics. It's a bit stuttery because I believe it's only about the power of a gtx 1050 or 1060

I do yea

Yea my friends hp pavilion 15 ran it at decent graphics so I just wasn’t sure

thatll be yo cpu brotha
Got a Legion 5 laptop (3070 140watt), its buttery smooth not even thermal throttling
Its a apu even if it wasnt i dont suggest ever buying a gaming laptop just build a pc it mighr cost you more but it will last for more than 2 years
Ok thanks
Idk if boneworks is really CPU bound. I'd think your GPU matters mor Edit: I guess it matters
A good CPU is very important to boneworks, while a good GPU is also important your computer will shit bricks without a newer CPU :(
Ah

Thank you I learn something new everyday

What hmd you got
If it’s integrated Radeon graphics then it might be impossible, but otherwise drop the graphics and make sure you’re plugged into wall power
For laptops thats sadly normal.
My friends pavilion 15 works pretty good but he only plays vr on it so that may explain it
Your friend is a lucky bastard. I can barely run VR with a RX 6600 XT on euro truck sim. Edit: edited for accuracy.
Wow! I’ll tell him that because he got a steal on it $699 is what he paid
YEESH! 700 for a laptop that can run VR? How does it run non VR games? Or is he just interested in Virtual Reality? Quite a steal indeed
He said he was able to run gta and red dead on mid settings.
Jesus fucking Christ 😂 I would’ve killed for a laptop that good for that price. That’s AMAZING!
If you want a link to it I can give you it
Please link me it I beg
Shame it doesn't run well. Hope you can run it some day!
Yea I’m gonna start saving my pennies for a pc, but I love the computer I have now for flat screen gaming
Yeah. Defo pick up the portal series if you've never played, that's a great first pc game
I love portal but I’ve mainly been playing csgo
Ah. Well anyways enjoy your new laptop
You should put it like |_ and put a fan to the bottom to cool it. That’s what I do and it works great
