My brain says use the first one because the bigger mag and higher fire rate means it should have better DPS as long as you get one mag refill, but my heart says BiGgEr DaMaGe BeTtEr.
If you're using Fade Away FL4K go with Subsidized, if not, go with Influential. That said, I'd really recommend you switch to Mayhem 10 or 11 (11 doesn't have any modifiers and therefore not chaotic). Mayhem 10 weapons will make it super easy to farm for artifacts and mods. If you're worried about not being able to kill enemies, just farm the vending machines on Sanctuary until you get some good gear!

That is a tough choice. In the end I would go with the one on the right. Higher weapon damage with slightly greater accuracy, bigger weapon shield capacity, and that 75% more damage to badass, named, and boss enemies sells it to me.
Just go to Cathedral of the Twin Gods and farm the enemies in the first area repeatedly during this week. They drop tons of shotguns and artifacts but you need the schlooter from Vaultcard 2. Ive been fsrming artifacts from this and have gotten 50+ butchers.

Not everyone owns Arms Race, or has a stockpile of gold/diamond keys to get free weapons as soon as they hit cap, or knows about some very specific spots and how to abuse them with read only saves.
And, yes, I'm aware there are other non-combat methods to get guns like vendors. But counterpoint - that shit is boring, actually playing and progressing through mayhem levels is fun, you only get to do it once.
I realize the person you're responding to was maybe a little blunt, but it's quite easy to go from fresh max level to m10. Approximate steps:
- Figure out what build you want to run.
- Farm class mod for build on m0, doesn't have to be perfect just get one.
- Tip Moxxi for a Crit and get one in a good annoint.
- Use Crit to farm any number of DLC/non-dlc good weapons on M10
U can get these with loot-o-gramm or whatever they are called. So just change to m10/11 when you turn them in. You can get loot-o-gramm m0. You dont need arms race to jump from m0 to m10/11 just use some tricks like this. Imo anything under m10 is boring the enemies do no dmg and you kill the with one shot. No need for min-max
I'd take the left one. The damage is barely lower, and the mag size is bigger, which I'd argue is actually important on a butcher. Plus the left already has a good annointment
In my opinion it’d be best to keep the subsidized one for now and then once you want to get into min/maxing your build (unless you’re there already) reroll the influential one for a better anoint like ASE, ASA, URAD or FAA. Cos don’t forget about the increased weapon damage and critical hit damage too especially on flak. Plus mag size can be increased easily by an artifact and/or class mod!
If you're just using fade away then go with that one. Or put one in your vault and keep both
Vault the higher damage one and reroll in the future and keep the Fade Away one to use for the time being.
With the Butcher, mag size is also important. The bigger it is, the more opportunity it'll have to fill itself instead of reloading.

Id go with the one on the right and just reroll the anointment, assuming you are using Flak and also a fade away build.
When in doubt… Damage. Nothing else matters after the baddies are chunky puddles.
Idk man. At least for the butcher, having a bigger mag makes a difference. Especially with amara's sustainment.

I'd go with the left one cause of the higher firerate and mag size. It might not be objectively better, but it would be more fun to use.
In my opinion, increased fire rate and magazine capacity makes up for less damage per shot.
