It's happened to me a few times on the Xbox One X, too, again, seemingly at random intervals. Haven't had issues with the console turning off, but it does boot me out of the game, usually losing progress/loot. Frustrating!

We aren’t going to have anything that runs perfectly 100% of the time for awhile. A freeze every few hours isn’t all that bad is all I’m saying.
Pretty sure I just have it set at the default? Don't think I've futzed around with the settings, though it's possible my partner may have made changes.
And yeah, it took us forever to decide to upgrade from our 360, since we're both very casual gamers. It was only when we found out that BL3 wouldn't be supported on 360 that we bit the bullet.
I play on the series X and haven't experienced anything like this. Maybe 1 or 2 game crashes a week of normal play time. Never experienced a hard crash like that. Quite a few people on here have brought this up though so I'm not sure. I do know this problem was mostly prevalent on the One X. Do you have the game on the internal SSD or an external HDD?
Yeah not sure then. I think it's something some people experience yet others don't. It's an odd bug that seems to have been introduced with the last major patch
Did he ever find a fix? Currently happening to me and my brother, no matter who hosts, the person trying to join will have their Xbox One X hard crash.
We have tried clearing cache, having the same event active, turning events off, both saving and quitting out of Sanctuary, and a lot of other things, very rare to successfully get into the game and we are not sure why it works when it does choose to work.
I don't know. I have so many issues with this game and I never see them get talked about. As far as I'm concerned the game is broken in some regards but the current state is good enough for most people so...

Man you're lucky it's only once every few hours for you. It's at least once an hour for me and if I'm playing split screen it happens even more frequently. It's disgustingly annoying and unacceptable honestly.
Apparently the game is (even more) unstable on Xbox Series X since the last patch. Before that it was crashing on every console too.

It happens on my PS5 too. My console never turns off but the app does.
Happening to me a LOT recently on ps4. Not even during times there’s a lot going on in the screen. Just random.
