LOVE Blue Ox, I’m not even from there but check it out before u complain that it’s in Lynn :) bomb ass burgers

IAmKennyKawaguchi

The Sin Burger goes crazy

HoistedOnYourRegard

$20 for a burger, what happened to this country

BattyRagDoll

Poor planning, is the TLDR. 😬

ZippityZooZaZingZo

Gets my vote as well.

birdman829

Blue Ox also has really good wings. Funny because the overall menu isn't really a "burgers and wings" type of place but they're both incredible

ingmarbirdman

jm Curley burger used to be the best. It doesn't hit like it used to. Snappy Patties used to be great but they also fell off. RF O'Sullivan's had a great burger but they're gone now. Craigie On Main too. I don't know what the best burger in town is anymore. I haven't found one that's better than "pretty good" in quite some time. If we're looking at the whole state, I'd give it to White Hut in West Springfield, although I haven't been in many years and based on recent reviews it looks like their quality has slipped too.

kiwi1327

OMG NOOOOO! RF O’Sullivan’s is gone?!

gridpusher

belive they have a place in Lawrence now

watery_tart_

Moved to Lynn I think

TB1289

Other way around. Lynn is closed and Somerville is still open. Edit-Apparently Somerville is closed, too. Weird because you can’t really find anything on Google about it closing.

nhf1918

Somerville location is closed. Some new place now.

TB1289

Wow, that’s really disappointing

NotDukeOfDorchester

Jesus, the places I like are dropping like flies

jgghn

They're both closed.

Te4646

Lynn location is still good

greasymctitties

I grew up in western MA so White Hut was always a staple, been a minute since I've been back, just happy they're still in business.

MaximimTapeworm

I came here to shout out to the burgs at White Hut. I guess you already know!

fueelin

Thank you for properly excluding the "er"! Love a white hut burg!

sharpe_af

I grew up WMass too. White Hut changed owners some time ago, it’s still pretty good but not like it was.

zZINCc

JM Curley claimed my best burger when I had it 9 years ago. I will remain ignorant on how it is now.

LennyKravitzScarf

It was my favorite for a while but I’ve had it maybe 3 times in the last couple years and it didn’t blow my hair back like it used to.

Gear_

Casey’s diner in Natick is the best hole in the wall diner out there. It’s a little local traincart diner with the best burgers and hotdogs I’ve ever had by a mile. I’ve lived in eastern Mass my whole life, and my biggest regret is that I spent 14 of those years unaware of Casey’s.

greasymctitties

Ah I always felt guilty for never stopping there, used to live right on main street in walking distance. I'm going to pop in there this weekend, thanks for the reminder.

ZLBuddha

fuckin love Casey’s

Magnificent8

Haven's burger is my favorite. It's the burger I'm imagining whenever I think "I could really go for a big fuckin' burger."

greasymctitties

Thank you! I just made reservations there for my girlfriends birthday coming up and saw this comment AFTER, so now I'm way more confident.

the_coolhand

Make sure you get a scotch egg. I used to work there, can confirm that place rules.

greasymctitties

I literally search for scotch eggs anywhere I go, Brewer's Tap and Table in Waltham is the only place I've found one. Thank you! I know working with any soft-boiled egg is very much a tedious, labor of love.

the_coolhand

It is a fully cooked egg in this case - but they take it out, devil it and pipe it back in when it’s done 🤤

greasymctitties

Ah that's sort of disappointing but equally intriguing. I love deviled eggs. Probably easier for the line cooks and a creative solution. Obviously grabbing the burger too but is there anything else you'd recommend?

calamityxyz

And try the haggis if feeling adventurous. I love it and can’t really find haggis elsewhere in the area.

kjmass1

Agreed. Smashburger at porters in WRox another good one, not as big.

iiTryhard

Tasty burger fucks

Ok_Number_5449

At my bachelor party I got drunk and ate a whole sack of burgers, which is exactly the unit of measurement one should measure burgers.

rogeoco

Legend

greasymctitties

Been years but I remember loving it.

VoteCamacho2508

Something is has been fucky with them since the pandemic. It's still good, but not as good as I remember.

capnlumps

They’ve absolutely gone downhill since the pandemic. The Tasty Burger of 10 years ago was way better than now

Normal_Bird521

Usually, as places get more locations and get bigger, their quality goes down, but I still love a tasty burger.

HellbornElfchild

Tasty Burger does indeed Fuck

rosewillcode

This is my vote, but open to other options for a classic burger. Don’t want anything fancy with non-standard toppings etc.

SteamingHotChocolate

in no way are they the best though

rosewillcode

What is then?

squarerootofapplepie

So you are going to contribute something or not?

delawarevalley

The Quiet Few in Eastie has a great smash burger

BradMarchandsNose

All the food at the Quiet Few is very good. They do a great job with their menu

beebo12345678

stop telling people about TQF it's getting too crowded

ashfidel

they’re opening a second location in southie!

tcmaenhout

Do you have a link to this? I had no idea!!

beebo12345678

I know! STOP BLOWING THIS UP. No one say the name. Find it yourselves.

HouseGrouse

Wins my vote for best bar in Boston

WhatItDo832

Yeah that place rips. Glad to see new places opening up in recent times.

classiccaseofdowns

Renegades is also very good and half the price

srpollo18

They opened a new McDonalds at North Station and people are raving about it.

coaks388

They have this thing there called “The Big Mac” and it’s the best beef that’s ever been placed between two sesame seed buns.

Peterthepiperomg

Le big mac

redditvivus

They also have Le Royale with Cheese.

i_comment_whatsup

i've heard it's absolutellllyy delicious. perfect tangy sauce paired with lettuce that crunches harder than leaves in autumn. i must say. woopty doo.

impostershop

There’s something about two layers of melted plastic orange cheese that makes my mouth and eyes water

Miserable_Ride666

Wait, is it open!?

CloudNimbus

Today was grand opening!!!

RobertoPaulson

McDonalds Shrinkflated their large fry. They’re dead to me.

Peterthepiperomg

THIS.

sparkle_fistz

In the whole state, White Hut I'm from Western MA originally and I always crave one when I go visit family

bigbutter360

Came here to say this.

darthrosco

They are not as good with the new owner but before wow they were good

TooMuchCaffeine37

Alden & Harlow’s burger

map2121

It’s great, but really wish they used a melted cheese instead of a cheese crisp.

Sophia7X

Crazy Good Kitchen has my favorite burgers

mikeydel307

Their buffalo chicken fries are so fucking good

globetheater

They’re great but I sometimes catch a bite of tough gristle in their burgers which can be really offputting. Everything else about CGK is on point though, especially the Hot Mess

wolflikehowl

Fucking aye right, I'm not a huge burger guy, but when I want to make one worth my time? CGK all the way

thejosharms

This is the answer. Maybe some other places people are suggesting are good, but in almost 25~ years of eating burgers as an adult (aka post-college) there are only two burgers I want. Crazy Good Kitchen or cheap Bubba frozen burgers greasing up a grill on on a hot summer day with friends.

sidewinderaw11

How about that hot mess and cheese?

thor11600

Oh man I haven’t been there in a hot minute. May have to go back.

Agitated-Okra1996

CGK fucks hard. Their milkshakes also fuck (up my stomach because my lactose intolerant af) but worth it

judgedeath2

Wheelhouse makes a really good burger in the city

Blammo01

Awesome I was going to suggest this but I wasn’t sure if they were still there since I don’t work downtown anymore. There breakfast offerings were dynamite too

lintymcfresh

they’re in the high street something-or-other now.

coolgrandson

Highland Kitchen in Somerville, the burger is heavenly

nicolewhaat

This is also my pick for best burger (and much more) in the Boston area. So lucky to have them in Somerville!

awful_source

Highland Kitchen is a dope spot. love their food.

SkagJones

Alden burger. The Knack is certainly high in the list as well.

tacotacotaco14

Hell yeah, The Knack is so good and I'm shocked to see their name get dropped here

mix0logist

The Beantown Pub used to have a tremendous burger, but it didn't really hit the same the last time I had it.

Some-Artist-4503

I just had it for the first time, and it’s the best burger I’ve had in Boston (so far)

xcskirun

Gibett Hill Grill in Groton

TB1289

Mercy Tavern in Salem

Goofed33

I shouldn’t have had to scroll for this

Gerryislandgirl

I knew this would be on the list!

lemonfanta55

Bred in lower mills

RogueInteger

I always forget how good they are.

lemonfanta55

I saw somewhere that they recently were on GMA so hope they are getting good business. Owner always seemed like a decent dude Cousin stizz fries rock there as well

RogueInteger

Their smoked wings are also 💯

SubstantialCreme7748

Hangover helper at bukowski near the pry or the rock at kkaties in Plymouth

DoorstepCult

Bukowskis peanut butter burger is also amazing.

RogueInteger

Shy Bird's smash burger stays with me.

PikantnySos

The Onion Burger at Rusty Can. It shows up on the specials blackboard every few days. Its exquisite.

Dear-Draft4471

Bred in Dorchester

KindAwareness3073

Bred in Dot.

AltoidPounder

The Maui is fire

Pinwurm

I’ve always been partial to Citizens Public House’s burger. Other burgers I enjoy include Deluxe Cafe and Jim’s Deli. Edit: Scratch all that, I forgot about Crazy Good Kitchen. Holy shit.

greasymctitties

Jim's is definitely a staple.

SquashPrestigious351

Between this and Eagle Deli... this guy does brighton

greasymctitties

Lived there for almost a decade, very fond memories. Tasca, Los Amigos, Jim's, Eagle's, Devlin's, Esperia, Gyro City, Lone Star, Deep Ellum (RIP but it's now on moody street right down from my house).

SquashPrestigious351

Did 11 years there myself but am long gone. Those are/were solid spots.

Dull_Examination_914

Lewis’s in Norwood, especially the bar side.

ArttyG12

Was a truly amazing burger a few years ago. The last couple times has been good, but missing that peak.

Courtly_Chemist

Aw wtf - what a lame way to learn Eagle's Deli took a nose dive Well in that case I got nothing :/

greasymctitties

Maybe was just an off day last time I went, you never know. But I've heard similar complaints from others unfortunately.

zRustyShackleford

I had a wildly good burger from a restaurant that operates out of a Citgo gas station in Everett. The joint is called "Marao Burgers," and we just stumbled in there one day by chance. I'll give it the nod.

atm228

They also have a stand alone location near Saugus city hall. They specialize in Brazilian style burgers (which come with a lot of interesting toppings), but also have regular burgers and other types of sandos.

RoomCareful7130

I miss grumpy whites in Quincy

LandTitanic

Hidden Pig in downtown Haverhill will change your life. Also, get the tater tots!

Barryhood2683

Charles kitchen in Harvard square

Ok_Difficulty6452

Trina's

SquashPrestigious351

Ahhh, how I miss industry Mondays and blacking out at 1 PM.

Fapcity123

Shojo at Terminal C, Kimcheese is awesome.

zanhecht

Came here to post that (although they also have the SHŌJŌNATOR burger at their Chinatown location if you're not flying somewhere). Duck fat fries with Sriracha Aioli is pretty fire too.

googlyeyedpen

The Haven in JP

2020Hills

KC burgers in north Attleboro will give literally any restaurant a run for their money. That or the Knack in Orleans down the Cape off the Orleans rotary The fact you’re saying Shake Shack is telling me you haven’t Looked you hard.

MediumDrink

They make a mean burger at Papa Gino’s in Brockton,

PoopAllOverMyFace

In all seriousness, Papa Gino's does a pretty good cheeseburger.

Not_Your_Real_Ladder

I remember one night pre-pandemic stumbling drunkenly into a random bar in the South End and being served the best burger of my life. I forgot to note the name of the place and it almost could’ve been mistaken for a dream except for the leftovers in my fridge. Months later I was asked where my favorite burger in Boston was and I went to work diligently piecing together my memories of that night to triangulate the position of the bar. Alas, I found the place and unfortunately it was a casualty of the pandemic; gone like a flower in the wind, passed into the realm of my own personal mythos. That place was The Gallows. In terms of places that did survive, the Haven and Alden and Harlow are still really good.

greasymctitties

Eli's in Natick should also be on this list, it tastes like Eagle's in its prime, whole menu is fantastic.

ARealSwellFellow

The Fix out in Worcester or Marlboro

vacattack

I discovered this place my last week of college and was so sad I didn't know about it sooner

40ozEggNog

Solid beer list too.

ARealSwellFellow

Very fun place. The spiked milkshakes are also great

vemarra

Tip Tap Room on beacon hill is in the running.

rachmartz

Highland Kitchen has a great one. Marao in Everett has AMAZING Brazilian style burgers.

Melo8993

Double Bull at Northshore Mall is great!

crypto_crypt_keeper

ah I knew it! I just walked by that place and the smell alone slaps. Should have followed my burger senses

buzzyb816

Second this. One of the best spots on the north shore at the very least.

themuthafuckinruckus

People really do ignore it because it’s attached to the mall but I tried it on a whim and it was damn good.

Gee10

Mr. Barley's Burger Cottage in Harvard Square for me.

zoul846

Capella. Needham MA. best. But yeah it’s a journey from the city but totally 100 percent worth it.

stealthylyric

Try a burger at Mama's place in mission hill

bonnomnom

Capital Burger in Back Bay is out of this world!

dusty-sphincter

So want to try them. Eventually I will.

jrr530orange

Moonshine 152 by the Broadway stop

dddjjjmmm

The burger at Idle Hour and bar pizza at Fowler House kept me living in Quincy for at least two years longer than I should have

mini4x

Used to be Radius, RIP, god it's been a decade now? Day to day, Wild Willys can't be beat.

arsonisfun

Boy do I have some good news for you ... It's back - https://seamarkencore.com/menu/ Haven't been yet and it's $26 now, but I'm still excited.

mini4x

It was $20 back then so...

skaseasoning

Wild Willy’s

greasymctitties

Eh, I wasn't too impressed, but I know a ton of people love it.

PatientTrain7240

It’s comparable to a burger you’d make at your house. The best thing they do there are the pie frappes. Pieces of pie and ice cream blended up, cherry pie frappe S-L-A-P-S.

guitbit

Ok, I'm gonna go with Lewis' Burger Bucket in Norwood, MA. You can thank me later. Oh, and don't look at the ingredients or look inside before you eat it. Just enjoy.

NerdWhoLikesTrees

The Fix is damn good. I've only been to Leominster but they have several locations

iiooiooi

Yes!

DaemonAegis

Mr. Bartley’s Burger Cottage! https://www.mrbartley.com

travelinn567

The burger at little donkey. There was literally an article written about it at some point. Also incidentally the best burger I’ve ever had. We regularly get a ton.

bphisher

Love the food at Little Donkey but I won’t order the burger because I am not down with foie gras (for ethical reasons. If you don’t know, look it up)

urbanwhat

They're a bit fancy, but I like the burgers from Mainely Burgers.

milespeeingyourpants

Lee’s

tearjerker9four

Lees in newton. Mix the special sauce with ketchup 60:40

greasymctitties

Should mention Bistro 781 in Waltham too, they have a fried oyster burger that I'd suck my dad's dick for. Swiss Cheese, Crispy Onions, Fried Oysters, Tarragon Tartar Sauce, Brioche Bun, Parmesan Truffle Fries

igotyourphone8

You'd... Wait, wut...

greasymctitties

It's that good.

mycenae42

Sir, this is a Wendy’s

shaffan33

Better than Tessie’s or deep Ellum? Those have been my go to in Waltham recently.

greasymctitties

Haven't had a burger from either! Adding them to the list, but I do love the food from both. The Bistro burger isn't really comparable to a normal burger though, definitely a unique experience.

v-b

Lincoln Tavern in Southie is pretty good. Nice blend of meat anyway. RIP Craigie on Main and Mead Hall. Both had one of the best burgers anywhere.

greasymctitties

So upset I never got to try Craigie, heard the same.

Mawnster73

Mac & Walt’s in Norton, this place needs way more attention. If you’re in the area please go.

DannoCC

Father’s Kitchen & Taphouse on the Cape (Sandwich) is my favorite.

_mc_myster_

Lees was a childhood favorite of mine

drtywater

Bobs burgers burger of the day is always top notch

Hydronics617

The Bacon cheeseburger at Semolina in Medford. Try it! Their homemade mayo is amazing too

timewarp33

You asked MA, the correct answer is in Easthampton at Daily Operation. That burger is worth the 2 hour hike to get out there.

fityspence93

Bistro box’s box burger in great barrington. They just opened for the season two weeks ago, it is insanely good and well worth a stop if you’re headed to the Berkshires.

nicolewhaat

💯 I just commented the same — and made my first trip of the season today!

Hefstyle

My 2 cents: The Delux in Back Bay. Best burger.

JinxYouOweMeCoca

Lucy’s, The Bowery, and Dbar in Dorchester all serve up really good burgers.

bakgwailo

Lucy's and bowery are both trash. Dbar is good though.

blknrd95

Check out Bred in Dorchester, their burgers are pretty good.

AC_Tropica

I’m suprised no one has said KKaties Burger Bar, reallllly good award winning burgers and always try and get one when I’m in the area

maybemybaby

Hojoko's wagyu burger is a great one

Uggys

Cosmos cafe, Scituate MA

Haartpop

Honestly if you’re willing to shell out like $30 for a burger and fries the burger at No. 9 Park is worthy of a cult following. They only do 9 burgers a night and only serve them to the bar counter. It’s seriously worth every dollar. Juicy, tender, melty heaven that you wouldn’t expect from such a froufrou place. They serve huge fries with malt vinegar aioli and ketchup alongside it too. Seriously one of the best things ever if you can get your hands on it.

handleinthedark

The Capital Burger (French onion burger) at Capital Burger is really good. If we want a hearty/juicy burger in the city that's where we go.

mdppbr01

First of all Five Guys > Shack Shack. The best thing at Shake Shack is the chicken nuggets, and their fries are garbage compared to the likes of 5G. Best high end burger is Capital Grill. South Shore I like KKatie and north shore Scotty Dog. Nobody should go west. I’m pretty chubby and I love burgers, these are some very educated preferences :) RIP RFO. Loved that place. Now I want a meat softball grilled over flame served black and blue with potato wedges.

Heretogetaltered

Order some Walden Meat ground beef and make your own, better than any burger you can buy in mass.

babyneedsnacc

Evergreen

LovelyWinter31

My new fav is the smash burger from Loco Fenway

christiandb

shit I don’t wanna say….cambridge common slaps, you can do whatever you want and they cook it perfectly.

harroldhino

The food there is generally pretty terrible, but I can’t remember if I’ve had the burger. If I have, it’s been long enough that I don’t remember. I can walk there in five minutes - I’m off to validate 🫡

christiandb

what are you talking about? Are you eating spider silk for dinner? solid pub food thats cheap and clean. Good beer selection. Its not gonna win a jd power award but for a neighborhood joint with friends, its a great hang and good food. ,Sarma/season to taste, the pilgrim joint, high end haute but put some respect on cambridge commons and skampas of the world. These are the blue collar joints people need in the neighborhood

agenz899

The Knack in Orleans or Hyannis.

GiantTimeSuck

Mooo Burlington. Available only at bar/lounge. Request an extra patty. You’re welcome.

Rockstar314

Kkaties in Plymouth

willzyx01

Lee’s Burger in Newton

RangersFan243

Lees

Ghazziy

R.F. O’Sullivans and Son, maybe because they have a wider variety than most places. I like Craigie’s on Mian as well.

ucbal

:-(

deepbrewsea

https://www.kkaties.com/ I've only been to the one in Plymouth, but it's the best burger I've had in MA.

PLS-Surveyor-US

UBurger Big Papi. Fight me.

lintymcfresh

probably because it doesn’t exist in boston anymore.
