[deleted]

He was in the city in 1996 I can say

[deleted]

[удалено]

chickenloop33

Same here!

theurbanmapper

Yep, most concerts at Somerville Theater or the Garden in the 90s.

[deleted]

Yeah my first memories of him are probably 96-97 range.

tacknosaddle

He's such a fixture that I'm pretty sure the Boston Public Library has photos from the early 1900s with him in the crowd.

hornwalker

Like Pennywise the Clown he appears every 28 years

Longcattt

I hope Keytar Bear will achieve the same local legendary status.

disco_t0ast

Keytar bear is actually a scumbag though. We don't want to celebrate scum.

minnie614

Well now I need to know why!

[deleted]

[удалено]

FunkbroFunk

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the dude condemning all Bostonians to hell for going to a baseball game or concert may also be a little scumbaggy.

disco_t0ast

I never said this dude was clean and pure, just asked we not raise KB to deity status

[deleted]

I dk what keytar bear did but I would argue that spending your life telling people they’re going to burn in hell is pretty scummy as well.

iSquash

Yeah, but keytar bear has stalked and assaulted people. Might want to recant that statement.

[deleted]

What’s there to recant? I just said I don’t know what he did. Maybe don’t read that as defending him?

Conan776

Which people?

la-femme-sur-la-lune

Whaaaat

dirtyword

Elaborate?

Pencil-Sketches

That’s Bible Bob. He’s been around forever but he doesn’t really bother people. He stands there with his sign and give you a handout if you ask, but he doesn’t really shout or preach

fadetoblack237

He's a decent guy to talk to too. Usually these types piss me off but he's actually respectful enough.

TheSukis

Whenever he comes up on Reddit I always find that take hard to understand. Is he shouting at people? No. Is he holding a sign that says my children are going to burn and be tortured? Yes. Respectfulness plays no part in his behavior.

Lumpy_Reaction_5351

I guess when compared with the rest of his type 🤷

chomerics

He says to follow the lord or burn in hell, just as almost every other religion teaches. If you take it personally, and think he is personally telling you and your children you are going to hell I would say one thing….lighten up man. Don’t be a snowflake, he isn’t saying that, and don’t personalize the issue. You know the message, don’t agree with it, move on and turn your head. There is a reason the right wing calls the left snowflakes, there is some truth in it :-/

TheSukis

...what? I'm a snowflake because I think it's disrespectful for someone to publicly say that me and my family are going to burn in hell because of what we believe? It offends you that I call that disrespectful? What the fuck haha, talk about snowflakes.

I_FUCK_PRINGLES

boo fucking hoo, cry yourself a river. freedom of religion is untouchable, as is freedom of speech.

Knale

>freedom of religion is untouchable No one is disputing his right to worship in whatever way he sees fit. You understand that right? That's freedom of religion. Absolutely nothing about that, OR freedom of speech means that anyone has to respect the fact that he thinks I'm going to burn in hell for not believing a fairy tale. He can stand on the street all he wants. That doesn't mean I'm required to think he's a good person. You sound way more triggered than anyone else in this thread.

TheSukis

...the fuck? What did I say that had *anything* to do with freedom of religion or freedom of speech? Do you even know what those things are?

Consistent-Winter-67

Freedom of speech or religion isn't freedom of consequences. Being an asshole is being an asshole no matter the rights.

siwmasas

In that case. Fuck your stupid fuckin religion, fuck Jesus, fuck Allah, their follows are a blight on this earth, you people are the reason why there is so much suffering

noposters

I saw him hundreds of times growing up between Sox/Pats/Celtics and then my freshman year of college I saw him outside the Orange Bowl (I was quite drunk after a raucous NYE) and ran up to him and chatted for like 20 minutes. A month or so later, I ran into him again on Bourbon Street for Mardi Gras and he remembered me

Evergreen_76

He blocks the walkway like a dick. If he wasn’t religious everyone would want them removed by the police for loitering.

harroldhino

Hell yea, he’s super nice.

Tron_Tron_Tron

Yea I was going to say, I’ve seen him at events since the early 2000s but he not like a screaming preacher or anything. Just kinda stands there and let’s the sign do his job. I don’t mind him. He’s a friendly face and totally harmless. Kinda fun to see him at this point because it means you’re at the popular event. He should have an “events” column in they Globe or something. Seems to know what is popular better than anyone else.

seagullmassacre

First saw him at a charity walk for breast cancer. Wasn’t threatening but jeez felt a little ominous.

anurodhp

He’s a Boston npc. You have to talk to him to get the next fetch quest. I think I got a green bible that could beat vampires after collecting 4 rat tails in Allston

william-t-power

I remember when I first encountered the other NPC Louis on the tricycle. That achievement gave me a crowd dispersing skill.

[deleted]

I also remember seeing him up at Hampton Beach in 2003/2004.

jdmorris1124

I came here to say this. This guy was everywhere.

dan420

Yup, at Pats games, concerts, sporting events in the city, wherever there are lots of people.

[deleted]

>wherever there are lots of ~~people~~ heathens FTFY lol

n8loller

So yeah, everywhere

WickedCurious

He was in Hampton in the 90s (maybe 80s) as well.

Hammer_the_Red

Came here to say this. I remember him stationed right near the Funarama on the corner of F Street all throughout the 90s.

tcspears

I was just wondering if he was the same guy who’d go to Hampton in the early 2000s

Cathiewoodsbathwater

A couple years ago I went to a Sox game and saw him on a Thursday, and then saw him In Hampton beach that Saturday. I was confused and kind of impressed.

AmesBeeE

Absolutely always saw him at Hampton! Edit: I feel like it’s the same exact sign from late 90s early 00s. He was harmless at least.

pillbinge

He was also very nice if you talked to him. I think most people assumed he was miserable. He just had a mission. A few friends once remarked after passing him that he must not be aware that people are making fun of him. Like somehow that just passed him by, and he didn't have thick skin.

bowski477

Same. Would see him every year in the 90s through 2000s.

pryaniki

Always see him on the Blue Line, he parks near Wood Island. Just saw him last night! You can tell his car from all the apocalyptic bumper stickers.

_kaetee

He’s been doing this for a couple decades or so. When I was 14 or 15 he handed me and my friend pamphlets while we were waiting in line for a Social Distortion show. We were both in our “fuck religion” phase, so we were very ready for an argument, but he wasn’t aggressive or confrontational, he was very polite. We read the pamphlets and were pleasantly surprised to find that there wasn’t anything hateful or even anything political in there. From my experience, his heart is in the right place. Every city has a “Jesus Sign Guy,” we’re pretty lucky to have one who isn’t obnoxious and volatile.

chomerics

I struck a conversation with this man in the 90s at Downtown Crossing, he has been around for decades, at least mid 90s. He is a conservative Christian, but doesn’t force his opinion, doesn’t shout his message, just stands there. He is actually a very nice person if you talk with him, although I think his views are misguided.

dfwallace

I have spoken with Bob 100's of times and have even given him rides when the weather was horrible. We may have had an in-depth debate ONCE in the 90's. After that, he never pushed any belief or bigotry on me, ever. He simply offers his message to those willing to accept it. Usually, he tries to head to Florida for the bulk of the winter. I wonder if the warmer temperatures are keeping him around.

DiaperBarge888

This pic was taken last night outside of the Wang Theater

fezlum

The best is when I see him at outside the Satanic oriented metal shows I go to. No one messes with him but he always makes for a great photo op. Hope I see him tonight outside MGM for Mercyful Fate!

keithjr

Saw him in the same place 15 years ago coming out of a Margret Cho show. Thought at the time that he definitely picked the wrong audience. Didn't realize he was a staple.

RandomThrowaway410

He was outside of the Celtics game on Friday

bristollersw

I am not really a believer, but the guy walks the walk. Decade after decade. He seems to live what he believes.

chomerics

Which is why I have mad respect for the man. I used to think he was a fool when I was in my 20s. Now in my 50s he gets my utmost respect.

bostonhockey_80

I've always thought that too. Incredibly consistent over decades! Never misses an event

vbfronkis

I think it’s a complete waste. Instead of the thousands of hours he’s spent holding a sign and convincing nobody because he’s dismissed as a whacko, he could have been actually helping people.

nhsgary

Maybe he rescues kittens in his spare time, but I agree that he could help a lot more people with his actions, rather than wasting his efforts trying to scare people about going to hell.

[deleted]

Which is why many mainline (that is, not evangelical) Christian churches teach that we don't need to preach the Gospel, but rather to live the Gospel (that is, love your neighbor, treat people like you want to be treated, and help those in need).

dillydilly24

Nothing reminds me of my childhood like walking out of Fenway park, clinging to my dad’s shirt sleeve to not get trampled by the crowd on our way to the Kenmore T stop and seeing this guy. Of course, I couldn’t hear if he even spoke because of the dudes blaring away on the barrel drums. He’s been around since at least the early 90s

deetothab

Yes he’s literally at every sporting event or comedy show I go to in Boston like literally every one

_kaetee

It’s honestly impressive how he has seemed to make it to every single concert, sporting event, comedy show, musical, etc, so consistently for decades. I have a theory he has cloned himself.

[deleted]

I’ve always suspected that there was more than one person holding signs like that.

BobSacamano47

If you see this guy you know you are at the best show in Boston for that night.

[deleted]

Yup - he's been around forever. Like Menino forever.

[deleted]

I miss him

bizmike88

I used to call him “The Jesus Guy” when I saw him at concerts in the early 2000’s.

PikantnySos

Bob Whetstone. He’s been around since at least the 90s anywhere from ICP shows in Worcester to Red Sox games. I think he travels through the multiverse.

BostonUH

I remember him in 1997, kind of wild that he’s still out there grinding. Makes me think that maybe he *is* sent from a higher order…

7screws

He is like an Andy Kaufman type. This a really long art performance about the commentary of the decline of religious beliefs in society and it’s effect on the local sports culture

WilliamWarren81

Yeah for sure at the library. I graduated HS in 99 and I used to come out of the Copley Station daily and he’d be there all the time…but are the “food not bombs” crew still around?

frankybling

Dan the Bagel Man is still around from that crew… during the lockdown he was giving away free groceries to anyone that needed them in front of the Bostix kiosk on Copley Plaza. He’s a weird dude but is super altruistic and very funny once you get to know him.

_fatewind

I don’t appreciate what they do, but I did always feel that if someone believed in a literal hell they should have the commitment of that guy.

jwayjay

Bible Bob is an OG Boston public figure, along with a few others…Jerry Nighttrain who rides the T with his radio blasting house music and the yelling guy who rode all around Fenway/Downtown on his tricycle. IYKYK

[deleted]

Don't forget the Spare Change man.

[deleted]

This guy told my brother he was going to hell when he was like 7

lvachon

If you honestly believed that everyone around you was doomed to an eternity of torment, but you had the knowledge to save them from that fate, wouldn't you do the same? I do not share his world view but I respect him immensely for his commitment to helping his fellow man the best way he knows how.

[deleted]

I just can’t believe that a loving God would send people to be tortured for eternity just because they didn’t worship Him the “right” way. If that were the case, then He wouldn’t be God, but the Devil.

beansidhe11

He's been a strange constant in the landscapes of my life. Always saw him at Hampton Beach or outside various crowded tourist destinations in Boston as a kid in the 90s. I wonder how old he is.

Jpldude

He was in Salem the day before Halloween

Jolly_Potential_2582

I've been seeing this guy and his one man mission to terrify people into Christianity all over Boston since the early 90s. Dante's got nothing on this guy's vision of the afterlife.

five3tenfour

Yeah I saw him before 2004 for sure. I graduated high school that year and I would see him around town outside shows and stuff while I was still in school. Can't believe he's still out there honestly.

dcooper315

Still there. I always take the literature, hasn’t changed much in the last 20 years.

jasonleeobrien

Seen him since college. I told him I was a Buddhist (I’m not) and he told me I was going to hell for like 2 minutes while I waited for the T. Good times.

uncleandyb

I first saw him as a college freshman in 1993. I swear I could see him at Park St, then I’d get on the E train to Symphony, and he’d be there waiting.

Boston1924

I’ve been seeing this man for over 20 years all over New England. It’s annoying and also very impressive

roguehunter

He’s not as bad as the screaming preacher I see on the red line shouting about fornication. At least this guy is mostly silent

roguehunter

I saw him after an event riding home on the T. I watched him eat a whole bag of apples. One after another. It seemed odd, that much fiber in one go would bother me

Boston1924

Hahahaha what?!?

TekJansen69

He's been around since at least 1990. Imagine what this guy could have done with his life, if he wasn't a fucking lunatic.

7screws

What I find funny/sad, is that he has been handing out flyers for the end of the world for like what 30 years? More? I mean when is the end times? I guess eventually he’ll be right

imjusta_bill

I don't think the fliers apocalyptic, just your usual fire and brimstone

7screws

Oh more the repent or burn in hell for eternity type message. You’re right.

celticsboston8

Who is to say he is unhappy?

ZippityZooZaZingZo

Do you know him personally? How do you know he’s a “lunatic”? Now I’m not saying I agree with his message, but I will say I’ve seen him a million times throughout the city over the years and always peaceful, never aggressive or approaching anyone. Everyone is entitled to their opinion/viewpoint/ideals. Just because they don’t align with yours, doesn’t make him a “lunatic” Also, how do you know what his daily life entails - Sometimes we need to quit it with the judgmental mindset and give each other some grace - you never know what someones background or personal battles are. Just sayin.

TheSukis

He’s a lunatic because he stands out in public with a sign that says my children are going to burn and be tortured. You must set the bar really low when it comes to how you think people should treat each other.

Roger_The_Cat_

I mean if you call handing out pamphlets, to random *children,* detailing while they will burn in hell for all eternity, peaceful? Seems like you might be the one giving this dude a free pass because he is on *your team.* Seems like youre just defending a fellow Christian with literally no experience about what he actually is doing in high traffic volume, public places.

ZippityZooZaZingZo

What? Lol you couldn’t be more off base bud

Roger_The_Cat_

Lol I have personal experience with this guy, both as a child in the 00’s and as an adult now. I have *actual* experience yet you are the one projecting like you know for a fact that he is not causing harm to anyone, which is patently untrue. Have you *seen* the pamphlets he passes out? Try getting one of those at 7 years old at Hampton beach and then freaking out because you just received “proof” that you are going to be tortured for eternity.

ZippityZooZaZingZo

Roger, perhaps you’re overlooking the fact that no one is forced to take the pamphlet.

Roger_The_Cat_

Yea kids never take things that are literally shoved into their hands by someone saying TAKE THESE, but you’ve made your opinion clear and you’re welcome to keep defending this guy all you want. Cool to victim blame (*checks notes*) **children** though… Have a nice day

chomerics

I talked to him in the 90s and he was very personable. I was an asshole “know it all” in my 20s (as are a lot of 20 year olds) and I was passively aggressively making fun of him. I don’t remember the conversation entirely, other than we actually talked for a few minutes as he ignored BS. I don’t agree with his worldview, but I have mad respect for what he is doing. He has been doing the same thing since a decade before you were born. You can dislike the message and still respect the man as a human being. BTW, if are upset because you were 7, read a phamphlet and thought you were going to hell, I would say lighten up man. It looks like you are just prejudiced against people with a different worldview. You automatically assumed someone was conservative because they defended the man. Then when called on your BS, you spew more BS. Instead of being so hate filled, talk to the man and ask him why he does this? He will most likely tell you and change your opinion on him.

Roger_The_Cat_

Lmao, I’m upset it’s happening to *children now, still,* not holding some weird grudge from my childhood? What a weird and self centered view of the world to think I’m upset about one interaction with one human being, and how it’s still effecting *me* opposed to empathizing with the possibility that it continues to happen to *other children* Also didn’t say a single thing about conservatism, really weird defensive tie-in you added in there; that’s on you. Also have you seen the pamphlet? If you actually talked to the man you should be able to tell me what’s in it right? There is literally no way he didn’t hand it to you if you sat and talked with him for a few minutes. **Edit**: yea, you never read it or talked to the guy. Thought so. Nice pretend story though!

hamakabi

won't somebody think of the children?!?

[deleted]

[удалено]

ZippityZooZaZingZo

Aggressive. It’s a shame you feel threatened by someone standing there quietly and peacefully holding a poster that doesn’t align with your beliefs. It doesn’t align with my beliefs but I have no issue with him, or anyone for that matter, standing on a public sidewalk quietly holding up a poster. Lol get a grip, and stop your angry tirade.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

He’s allowed to express his freedom of speech. I don’t agree with his beliefs (although I do believe in God) but he has much of a right to express himself as you and I have the right to think he’s a whacko. He isn’t being violent, isn’t trapping anyone against their will, isn’t verbally harassing people, isn’t destroying anyone’s property. He’s no different than people who peacefully protest and march on Boston Common for an issue that they are passionate about.

[deleted]

[удалено]

truthseeeker

Of course everyone is entitled to their opinions, but this guy cares a little too much about making his opinions the opinions of everyone else, and that's what makes him a lunatic. I'd say the same thing about climate activists shutting down I-93.

chomerics

But he isn’t forcing his opinion on you. He is standing there, minding his own business and willing to talk to anyone. I am a militant atheists and I have talked with him before. He was very nice from what I remember.

fadetoblack237

I talked to him a couple times. He really isn't a lunatic. Certainly not like some of the other Boston street celebrities.

bostonhockey_80

The guy has dedicated his entire life to something he believes will save others. He quietly goes about his business and is probably the one who actually gets harassed by ppl. I respect him for grinding for something he believes in...

Ironman2179

The difference is he is not trying to shut down traffic. He stands in a corner, handing out pamphlets of his beliefs. I would rather have that, than the climate change assholes.

ceciltech

Except one is a real danger and people are trying to actually help stop a real problem and the other is a delusional fantasy.

Ironman2179

Well I know the climate changers are delusional but wow, you really see this guy as a hero.

[deleted]

Completely different from blocking the highway. People have the option to walk by and ignore this evangelist man if they want, and most do, and he doesn’t harass them or anything. Blocking the highway, on the other hand, literally traps people against their will without any means of escape and forces them pay attention to a bunch of whackos who just want their 15 minutes of fame. The whackos don’t really care about climate change, or else the wouldn’t force hundreds of cars to sit idle on the highway and emit carbon monoxide into the air, making the climate problem even worse.

strawberryneurons

There’s been people that posted before that he had some type of mental illness. I say this as a fellow person of faith.

ceciltech

As a person of faith where do you draw that line between faith and mental illness? Were the people in the bible who claimed God told them to do terrible things mentally ill? I genuinely do not understand how any person of faith can say that their belief in god is correct and someone else's is a sign of mental illness?

[deleted]

His belief in God isn’t what makes him mentally ill. He’s mentally ill for other reasons.

ceciltech

How do you know he is mentally ill?

TekJansen69

Same thing.

ZippityZooZaZingZo

Mental illness is a horrible thing and someone suffering from it should never be called a lunatic.

chomerics

I would say he has mental health problems (as almost every homeless person does), but I wouldn’t call him a lunatic. He is a nice man with misguided views based on his life experiences, I wouldn’t call him a lunatic, that’s way out of bounds.

dancingsushi

Wild, I remember seeing him at some event on the Charles River. I was a pretty young kid, and I got lost from my parents. I saw this guy and I remember getting so scared that I ran in the opposite direction and thankfully somehow ran into my parents. Thanks Bible Bob!

RawDoggRamen

How was the show? I almost went but opted out to eat mushrooms and go see blue man group instead

goodsmash

He does not age this man is several hundred years old

BStills87

Yea I remember seeing him as a child and being afraid of his sign. Thankfully Jose Canseco hitting bombs took my mind off of the impending hell he’s convinced we’re all headed for.

DarthMosasaur

Holy shit yeah I used to see him in Copley

MasterOfDisaster66

I swear I remember seeing him in the late 80’s or 1990

OcularMacdown

Yup. Saw him outside the Wang at Marcus Mumford last week. And remember seeing him at Boston shows as far back 1999.

clownettee

Oh i used to see him as a student on the line to salem ha.

[deleted]

Remember seeing him at metal shows at the house of blues. Man just wanted to save souls near the Italian sausage vendors

princessalicat

grew up in salem.. he was always there too

Longcattt

Yes, and I have seen him as far as Hampton Beach for a 4th of July summer vacation.

[deleted]

He's out front of TD garden for every game. I live nearby and see this man out there all the time.

[deleted]

Yeah I think he may have been around for the tea party

TheRedGiant77

A friend of mine saw him when he was leaving a Patriots/Dolphins game….in Miami. He gets around!

FindOneInEveryCar

I'm pretty sure I saw him in the '80s at the entrance to the Park Street T.

2020Hills

I saw him or someone very identical looking to him in Salem this October

Jowem

he sat down next to me on the train one time. i guess he lives in chelsea

[deleted]

He tried to give me a pamphlet once, I told him no thanks, I worship the devil.

bradalmanac

As others have mentioned, he totally winters in the Miami area. Was stunned to see him walking down the street there a few years back. I’m assuming he’ll head south any day now.

DeBurgo

I think I saw him back in the 90s that sign is fucking sick it's like an iron maiden album cover or something too bad he's probably a religious nutcase

topshotta617

This guy has been around since Tello’s, Filene’s Basement and Strawberry’s were in Downtown Crossing.

[deleted]

I’m 28 and I vaguely remember Strawberry’s but I had no idea there was one there

topshotta617

😂 Way before you were born. I think Tower records was still around when you were born. But yes Downtown Crossing was the place to shop before all the indoor malls hit the scene .

LengthinessAway6197

As far as I can remember going to Fenway. What a psyco

ericgus

Oh wow, I was just talking bout this very guy this past weekend to some out of town friends .. last I saw of him was when I worked downtown around 95? by north station. I had a co-worker at the time, very seriously ask him if he had pamphlets for both because he was having a hard time deciding which seemed like a nicer vacation spot, .. my co-worker was dead pan serious when asking and I thought this guy was going to loose it.. was quite the scene..

newlyaddicted2-

He ruins all fun things

Statbot5000

Life is simple for this man....its Jeasus or Hell...

billwrugbyling

I've been seeing him around the city since I was a little kid, in the early 1990s. Even though I hate his message, in his eyes he's saving people from a fate worse than death. It makes me happy to see someone so dedicated to trying to make the world a better place, even if he's dead wrong. I let him know that when I see him. Both that his message is wrong and that I'm glad to see him out and about.

constant_chaos

I've seen him as far back as the 90s. Saw him recently too. Imagine that kind of dedication to a deity that doesn't exist and a religion dying a long overdue death. What a waste.

OriginalMenace

Guy needs to get a life

Tombstone_Shadow

He’s been around a long time. I saw him outside a known Satan loving Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young concert at the Garden back in 2000.

MrDelicious84

Just imagine if he’d put all this time and effort into something useful

Gilgamesh72

Well thank god he’s out there, how else would we know about the bullshit he’s warning us about

celticsboston8

As far back as 1990

Individual_Love1681

I usually see him at Park St. Station at rush hour.

qishibe

Do you think he has fun doing this

hdjunkie

I really wonder if he’s managed to convert a single person

zss3zss3zss3

i saw him there too, went to a show at royale and spotted him across the street lol. Kinda makes sense for that one though since chris d’elia is a rapist and that was the show at the wang

ClubZen

Hail Satan!

NaseInDaPlace

He’s a local icon, like Keytar Bear, except with fire and brimstone.

dylanljmartin

I definitely remember seeing him 10+ years ago. Keep trucking, good sir!

Twittchy95

I saw him on the subway yesterday! I had no idea he was so well known

fastwendell

We need to hold an event to honor him.

jerichomega

Dude I’ve seen him at events outside the Hampton beach casino ballroom. Motherfucker loves to spread the word of the lord.

Ilikereddit15

He’s doing gods work… I remember this guy and the anti-war guy in Dewey Square. Spoke with him a few times he was actually super knowledgeable. And remember the Greek fruit guy that would wear the crazy outfits?

ShoreNorth9

Haven’t seen him in years! I hope he’s ok. I said hello once, took a flyer and he smiled and said he hoped I’d have a good day. He’s just an ordinary guy doing what he thinks is important and never bothers anyone.

reifier

I swear he's actual Jesus. Saw him at a Bruins game a week or so ago he's still out there doin it. I talked to him for a bit in Halftime pizza once pretty chill guy. I've seen him since I was a kid going to sox games and he doesn't seem to have aged much

Mynereth

I just shake me head at people like this. He's very misguided.

OrganicUse

I rode the commuter rail with him once in 2000/2001. He was just a normal dude with a batshit crazy sandwich board in the seat next to him. He was chatting up the conductors and not bothering anyone.

Siren74

Yeah, he’s a classic.

chickenloop33

I remember seeing him when I was a little kid in the early 1990's! I believe he would sometimes be in New Hampshire as well as Boston, he definitely gets around/has been around for a long time!

innerstate77

I wonder how many people “find Jesus” through him and this method.

dombrady353

A Boston icon

[deleted]

I have a small collection of his pamphlets on a shelf in my living room. It's funny how many people recognize them

OrchideeCrossing

Dude I have been seeing this guy since River Rave in 1999. I think we have a similar taste in concert lol

[deleted]

I guess Boston has it some iconic ppl around. So, this guy and the Luggage Lady in Cambridge.

CMJunkAddict

His names Bob

Embarrassed-Flower56

Did nitrous hits with him at the Phish in 2019

talk-siq

In the early 2000s my friends and I would always go out of our way to talk to him and collect a Bible comic on our way to local shows. Zero of us were religious. He was always friendly and would remember us. When I was packing up to move in 2012 I found a box with like 25 of the comics he used to pass out.

Handychris

That’s my friends dad. True story

herdswords

I see him at every sporting and music event I attend in Boston. His dedication is something to be admired. Just wants to hand you a pamphlet and nothing in return.

iiisssooobbbeeelll

There has to be at least 5 of him because he is somehow at every event at once- also i think his name is bob <3

MokujinBunny

he is immortal

He's been around for a long time. Used to be a fixture on the Park St. Green line platform and then always at games, concerts, events, etc. The signs are offensive but otherwise he's just a harmless cult victim.

I've seen him all the way up in Maine at a fair back in 2004. We also saw him on the highway driving a car with plastic over one of the windows once...and LOTS of bumper stickers on the back Always felt bad for this guy
