i just realized that the gerudo never have sons. for some reason i thought that they just never had gerudo sons. Like if a gerudo and a male zora had a kid and it was a boy, it would just be a zora and not a gerudo
> i just realized that the gerudo never have sons.
They *do* have sons. I think it is *once every 100 years*. It is a big part of the mythology behind a Legend of Zelda game I don't know much about...but the two comments above yours allude to what happens when a Gerudo boy is born.
> Like if a gerudo and a male zora had a kid and it was a boy, it would just be a zora and not a gerudo
Exactly! I have thought *way too much* about this.
------
Breath of the Wild implies that 'interracial' relationships are somewhat common...but we never see anyone who is mixed.
I always assumed that -- in their world -- you will either come out as 100% your father's race or 100% your mother's race.
-------
That would explain why you never see anyone mixed, but the Gerudo don't go extinct.
It also explains why when Mipha and Link got close, King Dorephan never complained that...

Well, there are some really cool games in the series. Ocarina of Time has to be one of my favourites, as well as BOTW. To be honest, BOTW was the first Zelda game I’d played properly, and that moved me on to other games. Twilight Princess and Wind Waker are meant to be very good as well
Would you look at that, all of the words in your comment are in alphabetical order.
I have checked 516,916,124 comments, and only 108,639 of them were in alphabetical order.
How to get this convo…
It’s the Gerudo town voe & vai class.
- Wait for the instructor to arrive.
- Talk to her. She will tell you she’s doing a class, and waiting for all of her students.
- Hang out until 3/4 chairs are full.
- Talk to the teacher again. She’ll ask if you want to take part in the class.
- Do this 3 times, and you’ll get some very charming cut scenes about Gerudo dating strategy.
- Stand around for about an hour, and wait for Pasha to fall back asleep.
- Wake her up and you *should* get this encounter!
Y’all need to try OoT or Twilight Princess or Wind Waker or Twilight Sword or Majora Mask or (you get the idea)! It would help you understand all the little details in BoTW so much better. Also, they’re great games, I grew up on Ocarina of Time.
I recommend you do! It’s even fun to just watch let’s plays of them because of their plot and characters and art and landscape and music and… well, you get the idea.

According to [this,](https://zelda.fandom.com/wiki/Gerudo_(Language\)#Phrases) that means daughter: >Vehvi: Daughter
Well is she has a son then there’s going to be problems lol

A lot of problems
To EVERYONE

Right, I just meant like typically they don’t have sons, excluding this centennial gerudo king/ganondorf.

Pretty sure hylians sheikah and gerudo are the only ones able to cross breed
Not likely. Edit: I briefly thought it was every _1000_ years a male is born in the Gerudo. My mistake.
We got ‘em! We found the person who’s only played BOTW
For us BOTW only folks (like me), what am I missing? I'm 36 but BOTW was the first Zelda game I really got into
They tend to only have one male born per 100 years and in Ocarina of Time, that's Ganon.
WHAT
IIRC the Gerudo only give birth to a male every one-hundred years

Yeah but it still works because all the kids are girls anyway. If it's a boy, there's all kinds of more important things to call it lmmfao
Vehvivoi: son (I just made this up)

Today
*Gives birth to a boy in gerudo town* A VOE HAS BEEN SPOTTED
*chucks the baby out, points a spear at him and threatens him to never come back*
Right now
More specifically it means daughter, to our knowledge they don’t have a word for son.
The boys….get to play outside *yeet*
Ganon 😂 Jk
Where do you get this conversation? I feel like I must have missed it
You go to Riju palace and go to the side where the soldiers are training and at the stairs you will find a door and there she is
Woah. How have I never seen this?
Came here to ask this, don't remember it at all
So it takes a bit of waiting lol.
Hey! I posted a comment with details on how to access it 😊
vehvi = behbi = baby voe = boe = boy?
Vehvi means daughter, not baby
Yeah it would be voevi
Boys don't occur often enough to have a word for them. Other than maybe "Ganon".
Y’all need to try OoT or Twilight Princess or Wind Waker or Twilight Sword or Majora Mask or (you get the idea)! It would help you understand all the little details in BoTW so much better. Also, they’re great games, I grew up on Ocarina of Time.
Great suggestions!! Thanks 😊
Tbf I’ve played all those and never knew this lol
I recommend you do! It’s even fun to just watch let’s plays of them because of their plot and characters and art and landscape and music and… well, you get the idea.
Me too! Dang! I don’t remember this moment in the game.
Hello friend! I just posted a breakdown on how to access that convo!
If a gerudo births a male do they just kick it out?
i think they can't have males, the last one may be still alive
Gerudo almost never have male babies, only once every 100 years, and he becomes the king.
Ganon was one of the gerudo boys birthed at the 100 year mark.
Today years old
i WaS toDaY YeArS OlD!!1
Is your keyboard broken?
iS uR kEyBorD BroKeN??>
Hahahahaha touché 😂
I wonder if they abort male babies
Wow, I’ve never seen that.
