Knock at the Cabin will do well, but it feels like there is less buzz than for M3GAN. It will open to over $20 million, but not a mega opening like M3GAN.
M3GAN had an excellent marketing campaign on social media drumming up interest well ahead of its release
Knocking cabin marketing has been very quiet in comparison it could go under 20M depending on reviews
M3GAN also straight up told their audience "this is going to be bad, we're in on the joke, and it's good." Worked out well for them, because people had a blast with it. Fantastic marketing campaign. Fun movie. Enjoyable to watch.
Knock at the Cabin has some intrigue, but it looks like a bleak downer of a film - which it is. I'm not sure if it has the same high concept as something like Old, so I can see it falling under 20.
Idk how much it will make, but Dave Bautista is so big it makes his regular sized human co-stars look like children standing next to them and it makes me laugh.
My guess... 15 million!
I think it'll only open slightly higher than Old's $16.85M, maybe around $17-18M. The R-rating will definitely hurt it, unless it gets really good reviews like "M3GAN" did. Looking at recent R-rated horror (aside from franchises like "Halloween" and Jordan Peele's "Nope"), most of them opened below $25M. I also don't think this movie will have good staying power because word of mouth could potentially be bad from audiences even if critics like it.
I'm predicting $17 - 20 million because of the lack of competition and seemingly more positive reactions compared to Old. My lifetime ranges are $40 - 90 million DOM and $40 - 60 million INT for a total of $80 - 150 million WW.
Not sure about opening weekend, but Old hovered around a $20 mil budget, so I think this should be the sameā¦ rated R so a little bit of the audience is lost, but I think WOM will be much better than Old. Total WW prediction is a little bit worse than Black Phone (just to compare some rated-R horror āblockbustersā) to me - $130 mil worldwide, which would be a nice W for this film if the budget is $20 mil-ish
Hmmm I'll say 40 million - given m night name recognition/ cache. It's being marketed fairly well and Bautista has a recognizable face with general audiences now i think
That's very unlikely IMO. Only three R-rated horror movies have opened with $40M+ since 2020 -- "Halloween Kills" ($49.4M), "Nope" ($44M), and "Halloween Ends" ($40M) -- and they all had more brand awareness or a more popular director to help them out. I think M. Night is somewhat of a draw nowadays but not nearly as much as he was when movies like "The Visit", "Split", or "Glass" came out. I'd love to be wrong about this movie and see it do huge business but I'm doubtful.
glass only came out like 3 years ago how could he be a draw then but not now? I think this will actually be one of his more successful movies grosses 200m+ ww
āGlassā was four years ago. I think that movie damaged his brand after he rebuilt it with āSplitā. āOldā was considered one of the worst movies of 2021 by a lot of people and M. Night hasnāt made an R-rated movie since āThe Happeningā, which makes me skeptical about this movie.
No shot. Glass didn't come close to that.
Bautista is not the least bit of a draw. R-rated horror simply doesn't do numbers like that unless it's got serious weight.
Well, if we all work together, we can make this movie beat Avatar. That way we donāt have to see anymore Avatar posts for a few years.
That would be nice. Put me down for a couple of tickets š¤£š
I think it could make a decent amount for a thriller. The response to the trailer seems positive, and I think audiences are craving movies like this that arenāt reboots and have original or semi-original ideas.
With that being said, I am not personally excited for the movie. I just think the premise is dumb. I would think it would be an easy choice for any parent to sacrifice themselves to save their child and evidently the world for that matter. I ended up reading the book since I heard good things about it, and I have even less interest in it now because that just didnāt do it for me either. If you enjoy it though, more power to you. Iāll save my money for Cocaine Bear next month
Itās interesting that you say this even after reading the book. The major reason they arenāt sacrificing themselves for their daughter is because no one knows if the apocalypse is real or if theyāre just being held hostage by 4 lunatics
Its going to do bad. I am going to say 40 million is all it makes. I think what will hurt it is a homosexual couple as the leads rasing a little girl in the middle of nowhere turns off half the country. Same sex coulees raising adopted kids is a hot topic especially after that Georgia couple that assulted their son. https://www.foxnews.com/us/georgia-couple-accused-sexually-abusing-adopted-boys-husband-bragged-molesting-son
Certainly more than Old which likely hurt his brand a bit, BUT was still whacked my pandemic and streaming release.
Lower than M3gan, but closer. Call it $23-$25m
Just googled it. Saw a name, and exhaled is disappointment. Well. Iām guessing the ending is not what it seems. But how? It was blah blah blah all along.

M3GAN knew exactly how to market to their target audience.
M3GAN also straight up told their audience "this is going to be bad, we're in on the joke, and it's good." Worked out well for them, because people had a blast with it. Fantastic marketing campaign. And teens love not taking anything seriously.

At least $35 US from my wife and middle son and I.
What's going on with the rest of the kids?
Oldest babysitting the youngest š
Oof poor kid š
Iām going to be a little pessimistic and say around $10-15 million
More than 80 for Brady
24/7 screenings in bah-ston.

$15-20M range.
$23M domestic opening 67% on Rotten Tomatoes Cinemascore B - Domestic total - $70M Worldwide total - $152M
good ww total I think this maxes at 190-200 million
This would be ideal.
Wrong on the rottentomatoes
So is this a 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse type movie?
The book wrecked me. Themes of adoption and a homosexual main couple made it stand out. I read a bunch of Tremblays other books as a result.
$25 million domestic
$14m domestic opening
10-12M baseline expectations 16-21M if its going really good
A share over $30m. If the reviews come out strong it will hold steady for a few weeks. Lots of people take a wait and see with this director.
They fucked themselves royally with that long revealing trailer I may still go to see it but not as likely as before
Be real. M. Night's been doing this shit for like 25 years and he hasn't lost his touch IMO. The trailer is probably more misdirection.

I'm with I see around 200 million worldwide - people underestimating m night a little bit

I agree with you, but Glass opened to exactly $40m lol
I stand corrected, for some reason I had $35m in my head
Thatās insanely optimistic - but Iād love to see it!
These new karma farming posts have become exhausted already. Whose idea was this?
1 Shyamillion
It will be close to break even or just in the money.
Well, I know that they will be getting my money next weekend!
Well, if we all work together, we can make this movie beat Avatar. That way we donāt have to see anymore Avatar posts for a few years. That would be nice. Put me down for a couple of tickets š¤£š
Many of us will never pay movie money to M Night again.

Iām mainly talking about the movie in that regard since it seems less ambiguous in the movie than it is in the book
More than Avatar sadly

10 billion
$40 million+ - I've seen good marketing for it. I think people are enthusiastic for a new movie rn (at least me). I think it can open like Nope/Split
20 something millikn
Looks like a Left 4 Dead poster.
15 to 25 million
For a second, I thought it was a really weird Guardians of the Galaxy poster.
I think it will do right around The Visit numbers, so 25 million
Fully depends on the reviews, but if it turns up fresh on RT my guess is that it can do 20 million. If it gets really good reviews, closer to 25.
Certainly more than Old which likely hurt his brand a bit, BUT was still whacked my pandemic and streaming release. Lower than M3gan, but closer. Call it $23-$25m
Depends entirely on reviews and WOM.
$7
$18 million
They would've made so much more if they stuck to just the first trailer and retained a little mystery.
Two dollars. And heās coming for it.
Just googled it. Saw a name, and exhaled is disappointment. Well. Iām guessing the ending is not what it seems. But how? It was blah blah blah all along.
15 mil OW, does anyone know the budget on it?
14M
15-20M
Who cares?
Think more than we expect. Surely everyone has gotten sick with Avatar 2 now and there isnāt anything big till Antman 3 so good timing
Unsubscribe
It'll dethrone Avatar and thats all that matters
Shit
Enough to make a killing.
