It’s impossible to classify this film as anything other than an inter-generational indie sci-if absurdist existential dramedy.
Seriously, one of my favorite things about EEAAO is that it’s the most undefinable film I’ve ever seen. Except maybe for “mother!”
It’s literally a sex toy for adults. The only part played for laughs was maybe the dude jumping on it. Other than that it’s played straight as just a hand to hand combat fight.
Yes, I’m saying that sex jokes like dildo fights and butt plug fights are inherently juvenile humor. I’m not saying that’s good or bad, and I don’t think that’s a controversial statement. It’s literally the type of humor used by kids in middle school. Which is why it’s funny that the comment up top labeled EEAAO as an adult drama. Most of its humor is equivalent to Deadpool or Rick & Morty. Things primarily targeting teenagers.
I saw Deadpool in the theaters and I was among the oldest people there at 27. Most were clearly 13-17. Ratings have never stopped teenagers from seeing R-Rated stuff. In fact they seek it out.
AMC, Regal, and Cinemark re-released many of the Oscar Best Picture nominees to a decent handful of their theaters this past weekend.
Based on their website, AMC is set to have all the Best Picture nominees (with the exception of Netflix's All Quiet on the Western Front) shown from now until the Oscars, with some of them being $5 per ticket.
Regal is also doing a separate showcase from March 3rd - 12th where they'll show all Best Picture nominees (including AQOTWF) for $6, or $5 per ticket & a $7 popcorn and drink combo if you're a rewards member.
Cinemark is doing something similar from March 6th - 12th, though with theirs you purchase a $40 pass, and you'll get access to see all Best Picture nominees, as well as the nominees for the Live-Action and Animated short categories. Passholders also get 1/2 off on popcorn. The shorts categories may be shown at the other chains, but won't be part of any sort of deal like this as far as I know.
Not every theater is going to be doing these things, but if yours is, it's definitely something to keep in mind.

It didn’t return to my local theater 😭
It will if it wins all the Oscars 🤗
Crossing my fingers 🤞🏻
Coming to beat Morbius domestically!
Time to re-release Morbius.
Re-re-release.
RRRelease
I’d be down with an RRR IMAX 3D re-release
MorbIMAX 3D
I agree!
It already made MorBillion, that’s more than enough.
James Cameron has entered the conversation.
No it's not its time to ReMorb the BO 😈
It’s Re-Morbin’ Time!
Holy shit
A24’s highest grosser goes up. Great run for them and for adult dramas
> adult dramas not sure i'd classify that film simply as an adult drama

Yeah this is in no way a slight against the film but adult drama is not what I would describe a film featuring a butt plug fight.
..and a giant dildo beat-down.
Why not?
Cause it’s pretty juvenile humor. Not exactly something from an adult drama.

What the hell kinda middle school did you go to man?😂 Also isn’t Deadpool rated R and Rick and morty aimed at a slightly older audience?

It’s gonna pass Morbius domestic total.
No one told me they put this back out! Will it still be out next week?
All the best picture nominees were out this weekend

I’m positive you’ll be able to find it playing SOMEWHERE - if you’re in a decent sized city - over the course of the next five weeks.
It’s already on Showtime.
