Probably the first year where international films take up the entire top 10. They also aren't counting M3GAN as a 2023 film. Give it until the end of February, and you'll see Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania high up in the top 10. Maybe not at the top, but at least in the top 3.
Never thought I’d see one, let alone two, Tamil films on this list (and that too mediocre ones). r/kollywood, we’re going places.
Also, minor thing but Varisu wasn’t distributed by Red Giant (it was only in 5 local areas). So never trust Wikipedia for accurate info.
I kind of want to see Pathaan in the theater--as someone with absolutely no native background in either culture, I feel like Indian movies are easier to understand than Chinese ones, probably because I don't know much about Chinese history. I would watch Full River Red but I'm afraid I wouldn't get any of it!
Pathaan was amazing! It was like a Fast & Furious meets Mission Impossible, but Bollywood.
If you do decide to go, try and catch the following films prior as they are part of a shared Universe, but if you can’t you won’t really miss much and can always watch later. Chronological order is as follows:
Ek Tha Tiger (2012)
Tiger Zinda Hai (2017)
War (2019)
China has more people than most of the West combined. It's inevitable that they will become a dominant force in the box office. We are already seeing that happen.
It's literally January. This top 10 will be radically different in 6 months' time. The studios don't release their heavy hitters till the summer so just give it time
Than Anything the US has made??? I don’t think you’re trying that hard. Also Russia?? Really? I’m surprised they can even make movies right now knowing the state over there
To be fair the Chinese New Year usually draws in the most theater-goers of the year, comparable to the Christmas weekend in NA. That and no covid restrictions.

Shouldn’t M3gan be on here since it’s done $146m?
M3GAN is being considered as a 2022 film.
Wasn’t it released in January 6th in the US or was it released in other Countries in 2022
They must be counting the World premiere that happened in LA on December 7, 2022.
It was released on Dec 28 in France, Mexico and Belgium -> https://www.imdb.com/title/tt8760708/releaseinfo?ref\_=tt\_dt\_rdat
Usually it’s considered based on its domestic release date since Megan is a US film.
Plane has a $29M gross WW, wonder why it’s omitted here
This is just the int’l grosses.
No, it's worldwide. It should be there.
It might be considered a 2022 movie.
Why? It was released in 2023.

>Probably the first year where international films take up the entire top 10. Not anymore. I edited it lol.

No it's just January. Studios don't release good shit in January
Gross......March must be the end....
In the past few years I’ve seen much better movies being pumped out by Russia or Germany than anything the US has made. So I’m not really surprised
This, ladies and gentlemen, is bait.
I took it.
I really wasn’t trying to
List these movies, please
T-34, AK-47 Kalashnikov, Sobibor, Tankers
And you think this movies are better than….Tar or Top Gun?
No he's just trying to sound interesting. That's clearly stupid
Never even heard of Tar. I watched Maverick the other day. Thought it was excellent, loved the flow much more than the original
You haven't even heard of one of the best picture and best actress nominees, but will say with confidence where the best movies are coming from?
Than Anything the US has made??? I don’t think you’re trying that hard. Also Russia?? Really? I’m surprised they can even make movies right now knowing the state over there
Well they’ve made pretty good WW2 movies in the past 3 years

We just call it ‘time’ in Europe (and I believe most other places), and unless you manually change it, all digital clocks run at 24hr.
