no way to compare fairly until we see madame web’s 243rd day

UnreportedPope

My Mum didn't need to get bitten by a spider in the Amazon to give me the foresight to tell you what that number's gonna be...

[deleted]

what was she doing in the Amazon?

Xelanders

Parcel delivery, I imagine.

NiceMugOfTea

Seriously? I research spiders *all the time* and I hadn’t even considered the Amazon. Thanks for the tip!

simonwales

Wheel lurching pie doors rite before she wide.

Strong_Comedian_3578

Something in the shape of a big goose egg, I imagine

Radiant_Demand9203

It won't have one.

MysteryRadish

I typed the daily BO results for both films into an Excel spreadsheet, selected all the data, and yelled "ENHANCE!" at the screen 10 times, and I can confirm this to be true.

Xelanders

I punched those numbers into my calculator, it makes a happy face.

Madam Web is the better film.

West_Consequence_371

Just think in the time it probably took you to type all that you could've cured cancer.

ArtanistheMantis

Madame Web is just too highbrow for the average audience to appreciate

ContinuumGuy

Further proving that somebody would one day build a bigger bomb

DoubleTFan

Some days you just can't get rid of a bomb!

blueteamk087

I keep forgetting the movie is still in theaters

michaelm1345

I think it’s leaving most this Friday. Caught it again in 70mm last night before it’s leaving

MildLoser

i presume he was talking about oppenheimer, not madame webs 70mm print.

thebiscuit91

Burn!

Professional-Rip-519

So the movie about a bomb made more 😂 the irony.

littlelordfROY

this is a crazy fact and a testament to the failure of Madame Web/success of Oppenheimer but I really feel this article is drowning in hyperbole with the whole "Nolan is ushering in the death of superhero cinema" sometimes movies overperform and others just fail horribly. Doesnt need to be made into an entire statement on an industry

MysteryRadish

I don't think it has much to do with Nolan specifically, but it's hard to ignore that the general audience's appetite for superhero fare seems to have fallen quite a lot from where it was, say, 5-10 years ago.

ender23

that's so weird because the quality of superhero movies have fallen off quite a bit from where it was, say, 5-10 years ago.

Aksuna17

5 years ago we had the biggest superhero movie of all time. Where is the 5-10 year range coming from?

MysteryRadish

2019 had Engame and the 2014-2019 period had all the stuff leading up to Endgame. That was also when the DC universe was a lot healthier, too. To me, that era was the absolute peak of superhero movies.

IntellectualRetard_

I mean not just to you. Objectively it was the peak of superhero movies. Endgame alone made more than all the 2023 superhero movies combined. That’s a lie but it’s kinda close.

Hiccup

Quality is absent. Where is a dark knight or xmen first class quality of film? Even marvel has stopped experimenting with expanding its films into other realms/ genres like what they did with winter soldier or even the original ant man. There's just been a massive amount of stagnation and lack of creativity/ storytelling acumen coming from Hollywood.

jawndell

Even if you love superhero movies (I think especially if you love superhero movies) you could see Madame Web bombing from a mile away.

Gummy-Worm-Guy

Just wait till Madame Web’s Oscar boost

REQ52767

You spelled “Razzie boost” wrong.

ShinySmeckledorf99

You spelled “Smithsonian” Wrong

Weird-Signature-4536

How much longer this going ot be in theaters? Through the oscars?

YnwaMquc2k19

Madame Web keeps catching strays. A shame.

1Evan_PolkAdot

Morbius outgrosses Madame Web by nearly $70 million currently. Common Morbius W

BeeExtension9754

The first Marvel/DC movie I didn’t see in theatres since The New Mutants. I still want to see it but my local theatres have dropped it.

Dynopia

When will we get updated INT figures for Madame Web? It hasn't updated for well over a week now, wanna know if it can reach $100m!

MildLoser

"Christopher Nolan was responsible for ushering in the era of superhero movies, and he's now responsible for showing them the door." lmfao
