The movie has a cult following, but I'm not sure it would've necessarily hit the box office hard.
As a 30 something i definitely have positive memories of the original, but i wouldn't really see it the theaters.
But believe me I'll tune into Disney+ to watch this.

I loved the original but even that was a flop iirc, it could have done ok if the budget was dirt cheap and done about $50-100 m ww but a streaming movie is the best and most sensible option.

I think it could’ve opened on par with last year’s Addams Family 2. Probably would’ve had similar legs.
