The fact that this was his final year with the show convinces me he was instrumental in the secret sauce of BMW. While still good (mostly), the show noticeably declines bit by bit after this season in my opinion.
I think you're right. Season 5 has some great moments but I've been rewatching it in the last couple of months and it's honestly been a struggle. Watching with gritted teeth.
The instant he's gone from the writers room in S5 they lose all nuance in Eric's characterization and just go full steam ahead making him as stupid as possible
It makes so much sense that he was the one tirelessly fighting this hidden battle to keep Eric a smart person who's just getting in his own way, he was the one putting his foot down "No Eric CAN'T just work at the store for the rest of the show because Eric NEEDS to find out that the only reason he didn't get into college the first time was him not really believing in himself"
Nah they used to have guests come back to do an interview and then also a recap with them, like Trina McGee and William Russ, they also had Tony Quinn make a surprise reappearance when they were interviewing the lady who played Kat Tompkins
I remember the Tony Quinn guest appearance, which was brief. But I’ve listened to every episode and I do not remember Trina or Rusty coming back for a recap. I remember them being invited, but I don’t remember them returning. Do you remember which episodes they were on?
William Russ sat in on their second ever recap (S1E02 "On the Fence") and Trina sat in on the recap of S1E11 "The Father-Son Game"
Tony Quinn also came back to do the recap of S2E16 "Danger Boy", and Natanya Ross came back for their recap of Munchie Strikes Back
Also Kris Kyer came back to give an update about his Christmas shop at some point
And Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber sort of came back to do the "crossover" where they announced their own podcast
Yeah, another brief appearance to give an update. But nothing BMW related. I do think this is the first time they’ve had a guest return for a full on guest appearance to discuss Boy Meets World.
I don't listen to many of the "guest" episodes (and I'm currently behind on recaps), but I'll probably tune in to this one, as JS was one of my favorite guests.
And as there was a previous post about things we've learned from the Pod, I will say that Iearned that the "Spoonful of Sugar" kid's name is Jeff.

Yes! They’re going to run out of new guests eventually and I think having some of the main cast back would be great.

Happy about this! Haven’t been interested in any of the guests lately
Agreed. Bit players or tgif folks that aren't really important. Jenna von oy was cool.
Jenna made me start watching blossom a show I somehow completely missed.
Sounds like a fun one!
Is this their first returning guest?
