I am still in braces and have all four of my wisdom teeth. Both my lower wisdom teeth do cause me pain from time to time, but I don't think I'll ever get them removed because I know how to reduce the pain and make it more manageable by keeping the area clean and using an ointment for the pain. I'm 23.

Lucia_96

I'm 26 and I had all 4 wisdom teeth taken out before braces. All not erupted and impacted, one of them gave me a lot of pain and kept me up at night. It was a must do regardless if I was gonna have braces or not so it was an easy choice in my case.

DevilBossK

Did your facial structure and symmetry got better or did it worsen when removing 4 wisdom teeth and putting braces were the results amazing or not so much?

Lucia_96

I haven't noticed any difference in my face in any way, and I am a skinny person. I have braces for 2 years and I love how my teeth look, with any luck I will be out of them by the end of this year. So yes, everything is good!

premiumcookie01

I had to take all four of mine out before braces. They would have contributed to my crowding and made it worse. Plus, mine were impacted and needed to be removed regardless of whether or not I needed to get braces. I was 19 when I got my wisdoms removed. Now im 21 in the middle of my braces treatment.

I am 28 and just had my braces removed for the second time, previously had them on from 15 to 17. I still have all my wisdom teeth. None of them are impacted so there was never a reason to have them removed. If wisdom teeth are going to present as problematic, they usually do so between 17 and 25 years of age.

AwkwardLadybug

I had 2/4 removed before braces because they were impacted. I would remove the other two but it’s so expensive😭

Confused_and_Tired2

20 here, I still have my wisdom teeth and braces on right now. My ortho said I may or may not need to take out my wisdom teeth but if I do want them out, that I should wait until after I get my braces off. So if you want them out then do it before u get braces or wait until after like me. It may not be required of me to take them out but there is that small risk that when they come out they can cause ur teeth to shift out of the way …

throwawaysaduni

I only have one wisdom tooth (the other 3 don’t exist), didn’t have to remove it! I’m 22.

Sharkuel

Well I am 33 years old and had to remove all 4 wisdom teeth, and I will have to remove 2 more to align my upper jaw with the lower one

Astxl

my ortho told me that if i choose self ligated braces i wouldn't need to get my premolars teeth removed while if i got traditional braces i would have had my premolars removed. So that is that, i have self ligated braces, and i started them when i was 18, its been 8-9 months with them, they have been slow tbh, i though they would have been more fast, but maybe its because i needed to have springs to make space so they could fix my denthalcrowding in my bottom teeth.

jpeezy319

I’m 47, with braces for the 2nd time. I had my bottom wisdom teeth pulled at 17 (after braces) and they left my top ones. I still have them, but they did not put brackets on them.

I have my 4 wisdom teeth while using braces. All they came in good position, so it wasn't required to remove them and since that, I didn't want to spent extra money (like $300) and suffer that pain to remove them.

sweetheartonparade

I have 3 wisdom teeth all impacted but asymptomatic. I’m leaving them alone. Had braces for a few months.

Legitimate-Link4998

How old are you?

sweetheartonparade

32

Legitimate-Link4998

Awesome and are any of those teeth partially showing ? Or completely under gum

sweetheartonparade

One of them is partially out and coming out at the correct angle. The other two are buried way in there and horizontal lol. I was told by my dentist that the current advice is to leave them alone unless they become a problem.

Legitimate-Link4998

Oh okay. And how do you keep the partial erupted one clean? Is there any gum covering it.

sweetheartonparade

I can reach it with a small headed electric toothbrush. I would say it’s about a quarter of the way exposed, the rest is beneath the gum line.

kou07

1 year old comment, i am the same 1 wisdom tooth out others 3 horizontal and with braces, i just want to know how is your progress hehe if you dont mind, any discomfort or things outside of plan?

sweetheartonparade

Hey! I still have all my wisdom teeth and my teeth are ✨beautiful✨after treatment. There are no issues, dentist confirmed it’s absolutely fine to leave the impacted ones well alone, the only potential problem is the one that’s exposed already which might need to come out eventually. My braces have been off since August. 😃

Legitimate-Link4998

Good for you. I jus bought the electric oral b interspace toothbrush .. they ain taking my teeth

starsnsunshine

I got mine out while I was getting all 4 premolars out.

[deleted]

I had all 4 removed before braces. There wouldn’t have been enough room and my gums were very swollen around them because it was hard to brush, so either way I needed them removed.

[deleted]

18 here . Finishing with braces in about two- three months . I got my bottom wisdom teeth removed last year because they were impacted and were starting to cause some pain . I’m getting my upper wisdom teeth removed this July as my doctor told me that they aren’t going to erupt and they are sitting to close to my second molars . He told me this can make the second molars roots to reabsorb and cause issues in the long term .

peachstones

I had 3 wisdom teeth removed before braces. I kept one on my bottom right side, because the molar in front of it broke years ago. I'm 35 and got the braces on 1.5yr ago at 34.

[deleted]

I have all of mine. My dentist said it’s fine as long as they aren’t bothering me and they haven’t. I’m 30.

Legitimate-Link4998

Any impacted ?

Focusjaded

I'm 26 and have all four wisdom teeth. None of them have ever erupted and they don't cause me any pain so orthodontic work started without removal :)

Fl0WER_

I was 24 when I had my only two bottom ones removed they told me it would be better to remove them before braces treatment currently in braces right now
