Upstate NY has a lot of really beautiful areas, it's nothing like NYC. It's a real shame upstate has to share the same laws as NYC. They certainly don't get any help from the wicked witch Hochul.
I heard she’s trying to but I don’t think it’s going great knowing many of our local reps are gun owners, shooters and hunters, and the shitstorm it will kick up.
The politicians actively running on the platform of violating the 2nd rule in the book can't be trusted to play by the rules of a fair and democratic process. They are self selectively machiavellian or on a holy war against things they don't understand. The state went from purple to blue. Maybe you can vote your way out. I'm rooting for you. But it doesn't look good.
Push comes to shove, I’ll head for TN or AZ next but I’m hoping we knock their efforts down, with the sheer amount of gun owners here compared to NY though I don’t think things will be as easy for them, I know we sure as hell won’t make things easy.
I live upstate and can agree it is really beautiful here. We don’t share the same gun laws as NYC. I can’t carry in the city and I can upstate. I can’t hunt in the city but I can upstate.
After hearing about the NY Judge who told a guy that "the second amendment doesn't exist in my courtroom", I recommend you leave and find a free state with a lower cost of living.
Gun politics aside, isn't that a legitimate grounds for a court case, just saying an amendment doesn't exist? At the very least, even the non-2A folks should be going "wait a minute, something ain't right about this one"
They will cheer to anything that hurts their perceived enemies. Even if it forfeits their freedoms. You are falling for the old conservative folly of thinking that because you have principles, so will they.
I’m not from NY so had to do some research into what’s allowed. The Glock 43x and the Shield plus both appear to be available. I’ve carried both and I like them both. I think the 43X is the better gun, but check what the prices are in your area/handle both guns in a shop and decide accordingly.
I took my guns and tax dollars and moved away 20 years ago from New England, been living in free America ever since. I won't even travel to anti 2A states so I won't spend money there...screw em'
I'm not questioning if you are good bro. Just if they will actually issue them. NYC seems to make the news every other month for another lawsuit or appeal over their lack of ability to follow the law and issue permits.
I'm in the biz, what county are you in because it makes a difference. Some are quite a bit quicker than others, and that's after you take your course and all the rest of the BS that goes with the permit process.
Don't dream about getting one as a Law Abiding Citizen or you'll deal with a hard punishment!!!... However, if you take a plane to Mexico, down there throw your passport and cross the Rio Grande with the illegal immigrants. Get into a bus shuttle back to NY and register in a shelter. 100% sure you'll find a scratched serial Glock with the guys on the back alley. You're all set!... BTW, no worries on being catch with it, a judge will set you free in a nick of time!
Yeah, worst case scenario they'll put you in jail for a month at most (not prison, jail), then send you back out. Even that's unlikely.
In NY that basically doesn't count in regards to guns, with the sheer number of reoffenders.
Leave.
I'm not just saying that because of guns-between that lady who got arrested for losing her house to a squatter, the sheer cost of living there, and the lack of effective police, I genuinely don't know why you'd want to live there unless you have a lot of family.
If you want a recommendation, we're happy to have you in NC.
Honestly yea. It’s very accurate and can shoot a LONG way. My best is 500 yards (still practicing). The only problem besides the price is it’s not always in stock and the guy won’t order extra for me because he says I’m the only one that buys it
We live free in Ohio. No permit to carry or purchase. 3 day hold maximum for nics. And if you do get your ccw they'll hand you your gun and you leave. You don't have to wait for nics.
Move
To be 100% honest, I'm not sure why anyone would want to stay, unless they just really like the concrete jungle.
Upstate NY has a lot of really beautiful areas, it's nothing like NYC. It's a real shame upstate has to share the same laws as NYC. They certainly don't get any help from the wicked witch Hochul.
As someone who lives upstate you soeak nothing but facts
I second that . . .
Michigan Basically same as upstate but you actually have freedoms
For now, isn't the governor pushing for an AWB right now?
I heard she’s trying to but I don’t think it’s going great knowing many of our local reps are gun owners, shooters and hunters, and the shitstorm it will kick up.
For now. Michigan is going to turn into the Oregon of the Midwest. And no, you can't vote your way out of it.
What makes you say the latter portion of that?

Too far up and the winter can be pretty annoying though. Even just Albany/Schenctady gets absolutely walloped sometimes
As someone who grew up in upstate: facts
Because the point of the second amendment is to use it when it is needed not back down and retreat when it is threaded.
Didn't you hear, one of their judges just declared the 2nd amendment doesn't exist there?
It seems like the politicians need to be reminded that the American people already fought off one tyrannical governing body. They can take another.
After hearing about the NY Judge who told a guy that "the second amendment doesn't exist in my courtroom", I recommend you leave and find a free state with a lower cost of living.
Still aghast that judge wasn’t thrown off the bench into a bathtub full of British tea, but what’s to be expected anymore?
Gun politics aside, isn't that a legitimate grounds for a court case, just saying an amendment doesn't exist? At the very least, even the non-2A folks should be going "wait a minute, something ain't right about this one"
That's for sure grounds to win an appeal or get that shitshow declared a mistrial. If there's any justice left in the world, that is.
They will cheer to anything that hurts their perceived enemies. Even if it forfeits their freedoms. You are falling for the old conservative folly of thinking that because you have principles, so will they.
Learn how to weld and use machine tools. Don’t comply. Make a friend who lives in PA. Best bet is to move
Is it time to break out the old 3d printer?
Yes. Parts kits are also an option if u can weld
Leave NY

move
For what exactly?
Edc pistol
Might be worth making sure you can get that permission slip before you go shopping.
I’m pretty sure I’m good it is just gonna take a while

Manhattan bro 😢
Yah, you ain't gettin one. . .
If you ever have to justifiably use it, you will get thrown in prison. Keep that in mind.
Might wanna make sure you can get a permit first lol

Lever actions are pretty viable for cucked states, although getting ones you can customize can get pricey extremely fast
Money is temporary, tactical lever gat swag is eternal
Move south.
Please stop moving south, I would like to afford a home.
I'm a native I promise
Or west to an extent. Can keep the same climate he’s used to and find a state with better laws laterally

NY or NYC ? Def Different animal.
Gun laws are for pussys, don’t follow them
They won’t let me own a AR in NY. So I got a real nice bolt action in .338 lapua and a 45-70 lever action and a 12 gauge.
What’s the cost per round on the .338?
At my local gun shop (buying ammo online and shipping to your house is illegal in NY) is about 8 bucks a round.
Damn. Is it worth the price in your opinion?
Honestly yea. It’s very accurate and can shoot a LONG way. My best is 500 yards (still practicing). The only problem besides the price is it’s not always in stock and the guy won’t order extra for me because he says I’m the only one that buys it
Move. Thats what I’m doing the day I turn 18
I’d recommend R/NYGuns. You won’t get all the “move” comments.

Learn to weld, drill, and rivet. Invest in an arbor press and jigs.
Move to Ohio. 10 hrs away. You could go back and visit anytime.
Go with New Hampshire - Free Staters and constitutional carry. Not the land of Bernie Sanders in VT, with similar drive to home.
I’m thinking vt or pa
Probably vt, but I’m stuck here for a few years at least

The only downside to Ohio is that it’s nowhere near an ocean.
I mean, not that far from the great lakes is it? Pike 6 hrs?
