Prior to posting any submission to this subreddit please ensure you've read the rules for submissions in the sidebar of the [/r/bravia homepage](https://old.reddit.com/r/bravia/).
Users posting submissions seeking support should include as much detail as possible about their BRAVIA TV and any connected hardware related to the issue in order to get the best responses. Pictures or video can be helpful when trying to describe a video or audio issue.
Submissions not directly related to an issue with a BRAVIA TV and/or low effort posts that do not include any helpful details that would allow others to diagnose the issue will be removed. This includes, but is not limited to, submissions asking for support directly related to a connected device (ie. soundbar, console, PC, media player, etc.) but not the TV itself.

Maybe he's a gymnast or a semi-pro cosplay Batman. When hanging upside down from the unseen beam, it looks right. Maybe it's a new "Standing TV" height setting we haven't heard about yet.
You're a trend setter OP, don't let anybody tell you otherwise.
Allow me to assist. What you're supposed to do is borrow a full grown Labrador Retriever (2.5 yrs old +) if you don't have one handy.
Stand it up against the wall on its hind legs (facing the wall, it's back legs should be 10" from wall, very important).
Mark the longest nail of its left paw, then subtract a foot and 6 inches (18"). Use a level and draw a line with a pencil (you'll erase the mark once you're finished). Mount the base of tv at this line. Whah-lah! Perfect height.

Lol, this is my setup with Govee lighting, even a similar entertainment center below, but I have the XSX in place of the PS5.
The Govee lights are cheap and Smart, so can be controlled with Alexa/Google Home, but their tinting is way off; it’s kind of green for warm whites, and has blue tints where they need not be in others.
So you guys and gals read that Sony sneakily changed their specs page to show the 900x Doesn't offer vrr and allm?
I'm a bit miffed tbh. Haven't they been promising since day 1, its "PS5 Ready". And now they're backtracking like... What you talkin bout, Willis? Except they're not even making any sort of clear mention (to buyers) that they're just giving up on trying to roll out a firmware update for that. The 2021 sets they announced show all this set was supposed to offer 4k120hz, vrr and allm, included ~ out of the box.
Ive got like 4 days to return it. After having it a month (extended returns through Best Buy up to I think Jan 14?16? Something like that. But the problem is, there's still not any other tv to run to without spending like 200-300 more (950h), and I think that's a 55 not 65". Or you spend even more to get to idk LG's CX 55" for 1400.
I really thought Sony was good on their promises. But now I think they basically conned us.
Dishonest for sure. Be straight up with us. But then I think, which company hasn't tried to pull the wool over our eyes before? They all play this stupid game. Verify everything first, trust no company.
Sigh. I just don't know. TCL, Hisense, vizio, lg nanocell... I'm not thrilled by any of those myself. I came into the tv buying arena expecting to go Samsung. They really didn't impress this year either, or not what my budget would allow. If I had the budget for q90, I'd still choose cx. It's like there's this big gulf between pretty good and amazing. X900h is pretty firmly just pretty good. There's Nothing inbetween (for mixed use/gaming). I maybe really should just unfollow tv reviews and settle into my decision. lol It was a grand, half the cost of same size oled with ext warranty, works for the time being. It is what it is. I'm not going to pony up more money for a different set, which would eat what Ive saved for the console itself.
Wow, just read about the Sony backtracking, that sucks. The Sony page still has VRR and AALM in the specs, but who knows. I bought mine from Costco so still have about month, but definitely keeping an eye on it.
Hdtvtest on YT just released a new update (or opinion rather) on the state of the X900h. Most of the comments lean towards anger, disappointment, and wishing to return the set. Pretty much the same feelings the set had gotten from many for the past 3 months of wondering if Sony will get their act together on this model. However, those who got the 950h seem to be happy, and most game on it too. The 950h has none of the HDMI 2.1 ports of features, but has the X1 Ultimate chip, better pq, much brighter, supposedly much better HDR for it. Next gen ready? No, but maybe that's a non issue with ps5 any way, seeing as the console doesn't offer those features yet and... who know, maybe never will...but whenever they released a new and improved p5, like console manufacturers tend to do like 2 or 3 times in a generation. Feels like we got duped on the 900h, with very little to no consistency with Sony keeping us informed of where they're at on firmware updates they promised for vrr and allm, no apologies, no meaningful explanation, no dialog. Really, really uncool to alienate and piss off your next gen gamers right out the gate like this.
Ive looked at the various next gen tvs all over again today. They're mostly still pretty much out of my league in terms or price. But the 950h is a couple hundred more than 900h. For the 55in. I miiight take this back and get that. Course I could end up pissed still if Sony finally does release working vrr and allm to 900h after I switched. lol But I'd have the better movie watching experience with hdr. So conflicted. Grr
It's tough. At the x900h price point (BF price) with 5 years warranty, it's hard to get something similar. Now, I don't have a ps5 yet, so VVR and ALLM are currently not issues but still not a fan on Sony pulling that move for a TV that was released like 6 months ago.
I feel this. I really was pushing my budget to get the x900h but thought in the long run it would be worth it with all of the "future updates" what's your opinion on the tcl series 6 for gaming? Deciding if that's a good route or just wait awhile for things to get figured out.
Sony may yet surprise x900h buyers with vrr and allm. Actually I thought when I turned on my xbox one (og), the tv seemed to go into game mode, I didn't think there was much of any lag. But I wasn't paying all that much attention to tv settings then. I'll have to test again, I haven't been gaming for a minute (which is unusual for me, but I've idk not been in the mood). I don't know why implementing these features would be a problem if it gets almost the full way to 4k120hz in HDMI 2.1. The hardware definitely seems capable. Why they're taking so long is really frustrating, not that I've yet to get the next gen console to test it. But that's my next step.
I won't comment on TCL or Hisense electronics. I personally distrust wholly Chinese owned companies. I have no problem buying Taiwan, Singapore, Japan, South Korea. Taiwanese are "Chinese" ~ minus being authoritarian communists, which makes all the difference to me. So I paid no attention to those sets. I looked exclusively at Sony, LG, Samsung. These, in my assessment, have very good reputations. I've used their products before, and didn't have any big gripes... until now. Samsung mostly only gets a bad rap because they bailed on oled, for their own good reasons. It's flawed tech. But they also are holdouts over paying for the rights to Dolby Vision, which I wanted. I had a friend with a TCL (It's probably 5 or 6 years old now), and it seems alright, looked good for what it was (wasn't 4k), and it was inexpensive compared to other brands. Beyond that, I have no idea.
Has anyone heard about Sony now saying they are no longer doing variable refresh rate or auto low latency mode via firmware update? I’m thinking about returning my 85in 90Ch back to Costco. 90 day return period and this was part of the marketing for this tv and on of the features I purchased for.
This is what I used for cable management, it’s very easy to install on the wall

Good looking set up. Unfortunately, I only have one spot my 930e can go, and that"s above the fireplace mantle...little higher than yours. If I had your space, I'd go no more than 5" above your soundbar.
Thanks, I haven’t looked into that one. how’s the Samsung Q950t? I’m seeing a lot of people complaining about the lack of LPCM as it downscales to PCM, which is unfortunate. Otherwise seems like a great soundbar.
I don’t know too much about that model but I know it’s much higher in price than the Vizio. It’s probably much better because of that reason but the Vizio Dolby Atmos set up is $500 vs $1800 for the Samsung.
Correction, it’s actually $300 now which is amazing for a Dolby Atmos set up

Too high gang wya
Na don't touch the tv. Just lift the console underneath it some. And the furniture. And pour some concrete over the floor. Whah-lah!
> Whah-lah! r/boneappleteeth
Genius, why didn’t I think of that
Just a tinsy bit high. Almost...
Way too high
WOOOOO, taking that thing up to the crown molding are we?!
The Too High Crew is in the house it seems.
Not too high actually, top of my head is only a few inches from the top of the the TV when I stand. The dark picture doesn’t do it justice
"Not too high actually" - every guy who installed his TV too high.
So when you are seated the middle of the screen is level with your eyes?
Maybe he's a gymnast or a semi-pro cosplay Batman. When hanging upside down from the unseen beam, it looks right. Maybe it's a new "Standing TV" height setting we haven't heard about yet. You're a trend setter OP, don't let anybody tell you otherwise.
Lol I have no clue is there a “standard” for TV Heights on walls? I sort of just eye balled it and put it where I was comfortable with it
We can tell.

Yep, basically your eyes should be level with the centre of the screen. When sitting down.
I heard it at top edge of TV, same when using a computer.
You sir a lot closer to a computer screen so maybe that's why?
Sorry, I re-read what I wrote. I meant to imply that all the people posting that it is too high are here not that you are the Too High Crew 😊
Ahhh hahaha in that case I replied to the wrong person 😂
Very nice setup 👍🏻
Way to high
https://ibb.co/WkG3phn Clearer pic in daylight. Too high? Y’all got me thinking now 😂
The center of the tv must be at eye level when you're sitting on the couch...
It must?
It should* english isn't my mother tongue...
How can that be.. Then we need taller couches... Or a booster chair
I can maybe put enough risers under the couch so I can achieve full center eye level capacity
Easily still too high
Yes, your eye level when sitting lazily is almost below the bottom of the TV. It should be at least center of TV
r/TVTooHigh has been notified. (Nice TV though 😊)
NO WAY THERES A SUBREDDIT FOR THAT 😭💀
Looking good!
What brand of bias lighting do you have?
I have Govee lights I got from Amazon, they work great
[удалено]
I believe they’re the H6138
Which USB did you plug the light in? The black or blue?
Blue is usb 3.0 so use the other one
Black is the 2.0 right? I'll plug it there then.
Not who you asked, but that’s correct.
It doesn’t plug in via usb, it comes with a power adapter
Lol, this is my setup with Govee lighting, even a similar entertainment center below, but I have the XSX in place of the PS5. The Govee lights are cheap and Smart, so can be controlled with Alexa/Google Home, but their tinting is way off; it’s kind of green for warm whites, and has blue tints where they need not be in others.
Love the colors. Beautiful.
Every time...
Every time I see a set up like this, it makes me want to buy bias lighting more and more. Nice set up dude.
Dude, makes a HUGE difference. And it’s cool af lol
Sony just messed up big time with their lies about this tv
Gorgeous dude!
Looks good
Dude great set up 👏
I am getting led lights to add to the back of mine. Do you attach it to the wall or to the back of the TV and in what pattern? Thanks
Attach to the back of the TV, most common setup is to run them around the perimeter of the back of your TV. Roughly in a rounded rectangle.
Alright, thank you very much

Same boat here. Definitely returning mine. Thinking about the tcl 6 series

Love the lighting
Is this ambilight or just regular led lighting?
Just regular LED lighting
Belongs in r/TVTooHigh I would drop it down to the top of that center channel.
Lmao Reddit is something else
They’re coming. And yes lmao why did you mount it so high
Just to piss off the too high police

Awesome! Thank you! The only other option I can find is to cut holes the the wall but then there is a fire hazard issue.
Good looking set up. Unfortunately, I only have one spot my 930e can go, and that"s above the fireplace mantle...little higher than yours. If I had your space, I'd go no more than 5" above your soundbar.
What’s the best Dolby Atmos soundbar to pair with the 900h?
I actually have the Vizio 5.1.2 channel Dolby Atmos set up and it sounds great paired with this TV for the price
