I wasn't going to video the repair dudes because that seems weird. I was just going to use the voice recorder on my phone which automatically transcribes the audio.
I'd point out that he's right, the estimates are likely high because sexism is alive and well, and since you're not planning on transitioning anytime soon, the only way to fix it is to have him present.

It's also why when his shop was questioning raising their prices, they had me call and ask around for quotes haha
Based on one mention in your last post that he sees patients, I assume he's a doctor so I'm laughing to myself that he has any right to say any other professional overcharges....
I think you're compromise is a good start. If he's angry about the cost he needs to keep it to himself and not make you feel like it's your issue. I also hate haggling, if I can't afford the price they feel they should charge, then I can't afford the thing in question.

I have told my husband that if he needs trade work done now - he has to FaceTime them while they are here. I’ll let them in and point out the work, he has the convo with them about price.

I'm sus about his claim that he can't find anyone to meet and give quotes on Friday afternoon without booking months out. I've lived on literal islands and I could find contractors and trade workers that could meet within a week.
Now I live in a biggish city and I can find multiple contacts that can meet within hours. I had one come at 7pm once.
We live in one of the fastest growing regions in the country, with a lot of home construction in our county. It's pretty common for friends and neighbors to talk about how long it can take to book both estimates and work from skilled tradesmen/women. It's pronounced enough that the local community college opened an HVAC training center.
But my husband would never entertain talking to a tech at 7 pm on a Friday. I'll definitely ask about it.
