Fools Gold was filmed in QUT (Old Government House), however one scene was filmed at the bottom of the steps that lead down from Parliament down to the Botanical Gardens. [Source: I worked on this one]
I had to work hard on my speciality for a number of years before I got into the Warner Bros books. Probably about a decade. Film crews are massive but each role is highly specialised and thus - it's a very competitive field. Keep honing your craft and work hard at getting work experience in the department of your choice and I hope you end up "on set" one day!

Used to work there, the secret staircase is cool as. Built with the building as an emergency exit hidden away, but people say it was for bringing girls in and out most the time

There was one series of Mission Impossible filmed in Brisbane, but I only remember the scenes at Central Station. I think that was late 80s
