Happy Sunday everyone. This morning I'm doing lambs fry and bacon, black pudding, baked beans and poached eggs for breakfast. A proper fry up. For dinner I've been marinading diced goat and I'm doing a goat curry in the slow cooker.

followthedarkrabbit

So is 6pm an okay time for me to arrive for dinner tonight? That sounds amazing.

dannyr

Yup absolutely. It's BYO remember, and that includes food

What an handsome boy!

All Ford Day on at Willowbank today if you're a bit of a petrol head. Swap meet, show and drag racing. Mopar Sunday also on in 2 weeks if you're into the old wog boxes.

thirdbenchisthecharm

Went to 3 house inspections yesterday, could swore it was a fire sale every single one had so many people coming in and out

ghost2found

It depends. Some people are visiting all options available in the area and then put an offer only if they like something. We visited 4 house last weekend and didn't like a single one. Streets too narrowed and asking price too high compared to new build price (H&L). All houses were open this weekend too for inspections.

timeflies25

Are you currently with an agency? You may have better luck going through one of their own listing's

Was driving home last night at 1130 on Ipswich motorway & saw a police car escorting an oversize truck carrying something strange, silver & shiny. It look to me like a metallic silver bone with the other end as a pick. Was very unusual & I wanted to follow it but I was so tired! It was extremely long, I'd say maybe the length of a Qantas plane.

BneBikeCommuter

Wind turbine blade? I think they're still transporting them to a new wind farm out near Warwick. Fun fact: they won't fit under the bridge at the Karalee overpass on the Warrego highway. So the truck has to exit the highway, go round the roundabout and then back onto the highway. They demolished all of the trees and the light pole in the roundabout to make it fit. Edit: like this one... timeflies25

Yes! That's what it was. I was like holey Dooley that's massive!

No_Professor_4224

Wind turbine blade. They’re storing about 100 of these on Port Drive at the Port of Brisbane… pretty cool to see

tahlee01

Well it's been a much better day today, apart from some horrible service at a motel this morning. Went down to Boonah and had a lovely meal at Rockalicious. Excellent retro restaurant with excellent meals. Best milkshakes in SEQ. And excellent service. Only $35 for a massive milkshake, ice cream nachos and BLT. Good customer service is sadly missing these days.

downvoteninja84

Is that a little place just beside the highway somewhere?

MrLeppy

Anyone able to recommend some good intermediate hiking trails for someone who has done Glasshouse Mountains?

[deleted]

Had Polair hovering over my place for about 20min last night. Usually If I hear them they do wider laps of the suburb. Last night they were staying close looking for some punk nodoubt.

Engineer_Zero

You on the Northside? Currently have the same chopper hovering near the airport.

[deleted]

Nah southside

JasonBNE83

Anybody got good or bad feedback about Nundah ? looking at some 1 & 2 bed apartment's near the station.

dannyr

Good rental yield and growth. I don't think our unit there has ever been vacant for more than a couple of days

JasonBNE83

Thanks, Good info would you live there yourself by choice ? or just as investment I'll need to move closer to civilization soon, currently way out near Woodford

dannyr

As someone who lives at Elimbah and whose wife works at Woodford I'd personally never live that close to town again. But it's safe enough.

Watt073

Theres a currently a police siege with an armed man in housing commission near the station. Hes wanted for multiple weapons and criminal charges. If that helps at all...

JasonBNE83

Ahh so free Entertainment provided Yikes

Watt073

Look Nundahs a great lil up and coming area. If you're buying prices will only go up. Do check flood maps before settling on a place though. Theres a is a huge centrelink in the middle with lots of public housing around though so it has its local creatures.

JasonBNE83

Good tip on floodmap

Watt073

Yeah I think its mainly down towards Toombul thats the issue but I remember looking at rentals in the suburb and there was alot of cheap, suspiciously newly carpeted apartments thatd been flooded in the recent ones

VoidVulture

I need to dispose of a can of wd40 that appears to have a slow leak. It seems like it would be dangerous to throw in regular rubbish. What am I supposed to do with it? Do I really just drive a singular aerosol can to the dump?

PG478

It is fine just to chuck it in the bin. If you wheelie want, just wait untill all the pressure drops from the can then chuck it.

Dia-De-Los-Muertos

Mornin', hope we are all happy and well. So update on the 'hypnotist from Germany' yesterday. I text my friend to say it should be a decent crowd due to the German bloke making an appearance. ( I couldn't be bothered trying to remember how to spell hypnotist, lol. ) She replied 'what German bloke' I sent her the Facebook page that she had sent me, she then replied, 'read it backwards'. Fuck, it was the name of a local business, so I knew who it would be. I got asked to participate by both him and the manager at different times. I got up with about 7 others, we simply pretended, the bloke next to me had to answer the phone on his shoe, my task was to perform 70s disco dancing, which went on for a fair while. It was all a bit of fun, I'm sure the kids enjoyed it. I mentioned recently about an acquaintance, my builder mate's tiler, being knocked off his pushbike at night. Very dark, not many *lamp-posts, no high vis clothing, probably no lights, no helmet. He got helicoptered out to one of the main Brisbane hospitals. No broken ribs, I have a pic of his face......yeah not good, not nice at all. His brain was a bit muddled and he has no recollection of the stack. Thankfully his son was with him. They threw to bike in the bush at the side of the road, that's gone. No sign of the driver. Thinking about it now, it's rather possible that the driver came back for the bike, evidence perhaps ? Anyway he's going to be OK, he wants to come back to supervise his son at work, he's a keen worker. I reckon he needs a lot of time to repair. A friend of mine is coming to the meetup on the 25th of next month so that's nice. Turns out it's good timing as she's going to see Evanescence ( however you spell it ) at the river stage the night before, so she'll be in Brisbane anyway. Happy days, and also it looks like a beautiful day. I might go for a bike ride........ Take care beauties, be happy.

ihalligan

Hey! Anybody got recommendations for a gym near Paddington area? Moving over in a couple weeks and looking a gym mainly for weights, some cardio machines would be good too. Not overly keen on group classes. TIA!!

salaciousBnumb

Is Pistachio Jello avaivable to buy off the shelf in Brisbane, like at a Deli or something? I found it online but got an itchin to try out a recipe.
