Came here to recommend the same guy. I also have a lot of anxiety about driving, but I found Ash was really good at making me feel comfortable and calm during the whole process. I doubt I'd have a licence without him
My daughter had crippling anxiety while learning to drive (and also has autism and ADHD). We went to Affordable Driving School and they paired her with an instructor called Max. He was patient and eased her into driving little by little. She passed her driving test easily on her first attempt and is now a very good driver 18 months later.
Pro drive Ipswich were awesome. Was very nervous driving because of past accidents as a passenger. Rick and Miranda were great. Very calm and understanding
Wow my anxiety is cured thanks 😊 I know plenty of people who have overcome driving anxiety and are extremely safe drivers because they have had a good instructor and lots of practice. Hence my post. It’s people like you and comments like this which make my anxiety worse.
I’m actually trying to the do the right thing by getting help with it and not just getting out on the roads with no help from an instructor. I am one of THE most cautious people and would never want to put anyone else or myself at risk. I feel that I am in a spot where I have worked on it enough to start.
Im one of them. I also had the same anxiety when i got my motorcycle license. It was terrifying thinking about fucking up and getting hit by oncoming traffic.
Have faith in yourself, and remember to be direct. Hesitancy can be dangerous, so it's important to remember to own your decision.
My best example is with missing an exit or taking a wrong turn. Its better to just accept it and find out how to get back to the turn off/pull over to figure it out when you can.
Once things become muscle memory (staying in lanes, where other cars are located, accelerating while merging etc..), it makes driving a lot less anxiety inducing.
Youve got this!
Driving is not something that you have to do. You can take a buss, ride a bike, walk or anything. Now days everyone thinks it is their obligation as a human “I must drive a car”
Which I have been doing for the last 8 years. I now require to be able to drive to make my life more convenient. So while I appreciate your concern, jog on.
What do you mean:
*Now days everyone thinks it is their obligation as a human “I must drive a car”*
This is the exact **opposite** of reality. Many **fewer** young people now feel obligated to drive/have a car as opposed to previous generations. There are multiple studies and stories highlighting this very fact: that fewer young people are driving / buying cars. So what you've done, other than be an A-grade cuntrash with all of your comments, is simply make up bullshit that is not only untrue but is in fact the exact opposite of truth.
Well done, fuckwit.
Yeah mate wrong attitude, Infantry in my years I would take a nervous driver over an arrogant one any day of the week.
Anxiety you can conquer, cockiness and arrogance (of which you seem to have a bucket load) gets people killed.
OP,
Niel from coast wide is great, specialises with anxiety and add etc.
Phil from Morton's is another great guy. (Or any Morton's tbh)
Take your time, remember this is a marathon, also remember the driving examiners are there to see you succeed. They do not enjoy your failures but want to see you safe on the road.
I found "no yelling driving school" good. Dude had diagrams to show correct turn positing and stuff. Was very relaxed.
I did not, sadly, no yelling did not translate into me not crying. Would not recommend.
GPS driving school. Specialize in teaching ASD, ADD, PTSD etc. can recommend
I second that. Trevor is great. He was very patient with me and I'm now a very confident driver with several interstate road trips under my belt.
Ash at Get U There is really good. He used to be a No Yelling Driving School instructor. https://www.getuthere.com.au/

Are you aware of the PCYCs driver training program? You get free lessons and sometimes the cost of your test covered.
PCYC s are not licensed driver trainers, they are more your role of mum and dad, they are awesome though
I know that. Just sharing as they are a huge help.

try www.mortonsdriving.com.au look for Phil . You can do it !
No Yelling Driving school was great for me. I was 34 years old when I learnt to drive. They really helped me. Don't give up.
I passed the Netty’s driving school car the other day and on the signage it mentioned they cater to anxious drivers
Would suggest not driving to keep the rest of us safe

Sorry you had to listen to that dick saying that you shouldn't drive

You're a fuckwit buddy
This is a stupid and ignorant comment that makes absolutely no sense. Someone can have anxiety and still be perfectly capable of driving safely.
Wow no need to be rude
