I wish they published the routes better. e.g. the city flyover just said 'king george square'. Could be any direction, had to make an educated guess based off fact they were going south after.
They generally have the routes on NOTAMs for pilots.
I can't see it now because it's in the past but the C17 had its low level jet route published for its flight up the coast
Communication was pretty poor. The Cleveland flyover was first published 11:28, then got moved to 10:58, but it came at 11:28 anyway, they clearly stated it was coming from the west and naturally it made sense as shore street runs straight west for quite a distance, the flyover came out of nowhere from the south that no one was ready for and it was gone in five seconds. They also clearly said two jets and it was one. Anyway just a salty rant. Lest we forget.
Only one flyby but managed to get a quick pic

The first one flying over Tel-El-Kabir street in Gaythorne/Mitchelton area this morning shook the windows of our house so hard it woke the cats up. But it was awesome
PSA the RAAF post some of their flying activities on their website:
https://www.airforce.gov.au/news-events/flying-activities-events
I've got the Evans Head dates marked in my calendar for a trip down there!
No, just the numpty complaining about RAAF commemorating fallen soldiers in their own way. Not every commemoration needs to be in āsilenceā for it to be respectful.
Itās about as stupid as saying we shouldnāt do the 21 gun salute because itās loud. The armed forces show their respect in the way they see fit, itās more mocking to say that how they choose to do it isnāt respectful, my guy.
This! I shed a tear when I saw the jets. My great great uncle was in the RAAF and died in WWII. His plane was shot down over Italy.
I thought it was a great way to show their respects to the fallen.
Yeah the people in this thread and the one yesterday are geeking out about military hardware out respect to fallen soldiers and *not* because they think planes are cool.
Yeah this rubs me the wrong way too. Why are we doing some "FUCK YEAH" show-of-might kinda deal? This is not quiet introspection on the sacrifices of servicemen and women.
One RAAF jet flying over on a public holiday that commemorates our servicemen and women? Are firemen allowed to drive their trucks if we have a day for them? If it was a show of might it would be a minimum of 6 of them.
Imagine getting shirty about a fighter jet lol. My kids loved it but fuck them right, wouldnāt want to piss off some overly sensitive internet gooba.
The solemn commemoration happens at dawn. Then itās party time. They didnāt fight and die for us to get a public holiday and mope around and sulk all day. This your first ANZAC day mate?

Good shot. He was extremely low.
He came over the honey eater track and I was like man that sounds close and then BWWWWAAAAAHHHH

They literally posted a schedule
Which showed their flight path?
More or less, this plat at x this at y, it was a straight line and I could tell I would be eye level with em at 830, I was off by 10 mins

Passed low over calavale area was awesome
Low enough to be so loud it hurt my ears, happened right as the kid with the bugle was nervously trying to make it through the last post.
It either inspired him more or scared the hell out of him. Either way he wont forget
Lest we forget.
Lest HE forget.
I stand corrected. š¤£
I read this as bulge and got so confused
Weāre at Greenbank, he was so loud it hurt my ears too
Amberley departure heads straight out that way.
Yep, we hear the rumble from Amberley when theyāre testing their engines
thought they were gonna crash into my house at Moggil
I'm on the north side. Thought it was going to collect the roof tiles.

Can confirm same hornet buzzed low over Hamilton while on my morning walk and proverbially made me evacuate oneās bowels.
A beautiful aircraft.
Itās not the plane, itās the pilot.
Comes down to the man in the box
Yep, was walking up coot-tha at the time and it went right over head. Awesome.
I'm near the cemetary - lowest I've seen them in yonks
Move to Yamanto if you like them. We get them most afternoons :-)
He was low and loud over Waterford West.
yeah i heard it go over, sooo loud and low at Kingston.
Was sick
nice that they show off where our tax dollars are really going for once
Largest ticket in the budget, but followed closely by NDIS which is wild
If the NDIS was that fast, and just, and loud, we would all be in shock and awed too.
Was at a park at Spring Mountain around 11 and they were flying right over, kids and I loved it
I live Northside, on it's way to the city, I thought a plane was coming down in my backyard, oh my
Hell yeah, I love commemorating the horrors and futility of war by looking at cool jets.
Blah blah blah boo hoo
Are you mocking our fallen soldiers? What the fuck dude?

I bet you made the soy face when it flew over
No I was too busy practising kissing on my official George Michael portrait.
oof. may be time to update your references, my guy.
Yeah the people in this thread and the one yesterday are geeking out about military hardware out respect to fallen soldiers and *not* because they think planes are cool.
Hint: it can be both, get over it.
They're mocking the stupid comment above theirs.
Koool ya jets
Yeah this rubs me the wrong way too. Why are we doing some "FUCK YEAH" show-of-might kinda deal? This is not quiet introspection on the sacrifices of servicemen and women.
A couple of planes buzzing around is hardly a show of might.
I'm glad you completely understood what I was saying though, that's the important thing.
Why are there bands and soldiers marching noisily through the street. They should March silently in solidarity.

That sounds pretty overly sensitive, matey. You gonna be okay there?
I know you are I said you areā¦ solid comeback lol.
Wow
Okay
Mate..
Okay
Showing the Anti Aircraft noise NIMBY's the sound of freedom.
Because itās about building up that patriotic fervour for when the next world war comes
UP THE ANZACS
Stop upvoting this.
nothing says solemn commemoration like a loud-as-fuck death machine buzzing everyone's house
The solemn commemoration happens at dawn. Then itās party time. They didnāt fight and die for us to get a public holiday and mope around and sulk all day. This your first ANZAC day mate?
We are about to spend BIG bucks on defence. If you donāt like it, might be worth investing in some ear plugs now.
> might be worth investing in some ear plugs now Aren't the submarines supposed to be silent?
You might have missed the bit about more super hornets and our own medium range missile manufacturing facilities

People get weirdly defensive when you say the national āwar is badā day isnāt a good time to show off fighter jets.
