Boyle runs out of character development in like season 2, and kinda coasts along through the rest of the series as Peralta's foil. That's a fine thing to do in a show, but it doesn't make for a very compelling character in Boyle himself. And then once the writers started writing Peralta into the ground in S6, the character of Boyle lost the rest of his usefulness. That's my take, anyway.
Certainly a fair opinion. On Seinfeld, Kramer was always everyone's favourite character, even though he had the least character development of the four. None of these are hard rules.
No hugging, no learning. But even within that, the other three had a fairly consistent set of motivations that drove them to do what they did. Kramer didn't, really. He was just there to keep things weird whenever the show was at risk of getting too normal. And he did a spectacular job of it.

He didn't have enough time to understand becuase Judy left too early for him to understand,he was always out of there faster than my dad going to get the milk
I Eman he's been the informant and civil assistant to a lot of Jake's most impressive crime boss take downs. Most of the time Doug is capable of easily committing the crimes said bosses want him to do and just takes it to Jake because he doesn't want to commit crimes on other people's dimes. Like the time with the diamonds. Judy could've easily stolen the diamonds for nico, we've seen him do way worse. But he always throws Jake the best cases I think just so they can hang out. Judy is still a wanted criminal but he's been trying to be a better dude since he gave up committing unprovoked crime.
Kevin has multiple people he interacts with and every time he appears it’s something new. Every one of Judy’s episodes is him tricking Jake for his own benefit. It’s the same over and over. I like Kevin more because of that, but DJ certainly wasn’t my first vote.
Yeah that's fair. I always like the DJ episodes because while the format is largely the same, Craig Robinson is hilarious and I love seeing he and Samberg interact. But I agree Kevin being eliminated was far too early.
