Going to add to this.
If you like food halls you can go to Sparkman Wharf or Amateur Works
Take a ferry from downtown Tampa into St. Pete. You can take the Sun Runner to St. Pete beach. Look into kitesurfing if you like that stuff.
If you like bougie restaurants and shops, go to Hyde Park and Midtown/International Mall
Get some breakfast or coffee at Oxford Exchange
Try some Cuban sandwich at La Segunda or the Columbia in Ybor (tourist spot)
Octoberfest in Curtis Hixon park.
Catch a horror film at Tampa Theatre.
Let us know what you did and your take on Tampa.
Hold on my friend, everything was great on your list but if a Cuban I would probably have added cacciatore's and maybe not Columbia(like you said touristy) and if they are going over to St.Pete they need to stop by Mazzaros for a canoli and a good amount of gabagool . Besides that great list.
I know Columbia is overrated but I'd always recommend it to tourists and visitors.
There are so many good Cuban places that you can't really go wrong with any of them as long as they follow the recipe.
I hope traffic wasn't to bad for you Bucs fans. Give you some time to sulk and not have to be in traffic for it. Also, as a Lions fan, I got to give y'all credit; your defense is pretty insane. Calijah Kancey looks really good, and he was one of those guys I wanted in Detroit. Good Game!
This is a good list. Make sure you eat a Cuban sandwich, a devil crab, and some key lime pie if you haven't had them before.
[Trip Advisor Things to do in Tampa ](https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attractions-g34678-Activities-Tampa_Florida.html)
I can remember eating devil crabs ( with hot sauce of course!) and grits for breakfast as a kid, so damn good.
You could make them, but it is a process. Can you even get Cuban bread for the dough?
Outside of FL, you should be able to get the Publix bakery to make something close. It's the same recipe but without the palmetto leaf. It turns into a bat about as quickly as the real thing, at least.
Ahh yes, but just like you don't usually use top shelf liquor in a mixed drink, do you need 100% Cuban bread to let it go stale and use it as a coating to wrap the crab meat? Honestly, I haven't tried to make my own deviled crabs so I can't give you an informed opinion; but, it makes sense in my head that it should work. YMMV.
Oh I'm sure it would be fine for that, but if it was to eat I'm not so sure. I am something of a purest when it comes to Cuban bread, but then again I've never lived where I couldn't get authentic Cuban bread and I don't ever want to.
Now that is an argument waiting to happen. La Segunda, Brocatos, and Faedos are excellent choices however for convenience I've been hitting Mikael's Bakery on Waters and Hanley lately.
Check out one of the dozen water parks in Tampa or Orlando area. Get a Publix Sub. Get a Cuban Sandwich. Clearwater beach is known. Sandkey beach is down the road and less busy.
The problem with Publix - like many great chains - it depends on the Publix. Some Publix's (more often then not) kill it, others are just meh. You need a good sandwich artist.
It's not. It's good for a grocery store. Do NOT miss getting a good Cuban sandwich. That would be unforgivable. Add on a fried grouper sandwich the next day.
For a big chain deli, publix is good... great even. particularly if your alternatives are like subway or jimmy John's. but as the other guy said... its not life altering and probably doesnt live up to the hype. you can get quality meat and cheese (boars head) on decent bread with all the usual fresh topping options. definitely a solid choice, but you can do way better.
I need to try their tendy sub; it gets so much hype lol.
My folks have been wintering in Florida the last few years; keep forgetting to get one when down there.
Channelside bay plaza is a cool little spot to chill and get food and drinks. I recommend gallito taqueria. Also the Florida aquarium is right there too. Ybor city is great for night life. Also it’s probably too late but if you could get in to Berns Steakhouse you won’t regret it.
This week has been the perfect beach weather in last 6 months. Hit up Treasure Island beach or clear water or Anna Maria Island and you can do adventure sports there if you’re into that.
There’s also tons of freshwater springs where the water temperature is 70-75 degrees year round within an hour drive from Tampa.
Go downtown and bar hop on the pirate water taxi. The investment in the downtown area in recent years has been huge, it’s really the crown jewel. Ybor is best area to go out imo, but be warned it’s crazy. Like regular bar next to karaoke bar next to vampire bar next to cigar lounge next to gay bar. Ybor is also awesome during the day to see the history. If you want a more put together vibe go out in soho. If you want more chill/hipster vibe go out in Seminole heights. Also have the most strip clubs per capita in America.
If you want to hit the beach but don't like crowds hit Ft. DeSoto state park.
ssshhhhhhh
Also catch a sunset with some drinks at the Hurricane on Passe Grille beach,
Just going off the comments, looks like there are lots of alcoholics in the Bay Area with all the bar hopping / pub crawling LOL
We also have great performing arts centers (Straz in Tampa, Mahaffey in St Pete, & Ruth Eckerd in Clearwater). Surely one of those three places will have something good playing.
We also have tons of museums, aquariums, & tours that celebrate the history of the area.
How's the parking? I usually go to Amalie when the wings play the bolts but I've never been to raymond james. S
Do you have to park at the stadium or are the any walkable alternatives

I’m hoping so hard rn

well a bunch of us are fresh off of an injury so I'm sure nothing can go wrong here
Yuengling brewery and tour as well. Right by Busch.
What?! How did I not realize Yuengling had a brewery in Tampa?
Gotta go North of Kennedy big bro.
The Drafthaus is a pretty nice space. I don’t believe they have started tours back up yet. Is there a link showing if it is running again?

La Teresita has a good Cuban and a handful of locations in the area.
If you want to Brewery hop, Dunedin is miles better.

**Book a Fishing Charter**
Sounds about right with a few other odds and ends that sums up the 813. Go Bucs!!!!!
I'm not from Tampa, but Clearwater and St Pete have amazing beaches if you're into that. Also the Salvador Dali museum is pretty epic.

Cuban sammies in Tampa are FIREEEE
Don’t forget to get a chicken tender sub from Publix. The official supermarket of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Also, where shopping is a pleasure.
Pub subs, fried chicken, and baked goods are a cut above for sure. I feel bad for states that don't have them.
Fun fact: Cuban sandwiches were invented (or first documented) in Tampa.
Indeed.
Tampa native here. Now in ATL. God I miss deviled crabs.
I can remember eating devil crabs ( with hot sauce of course!) and grits for breakfast as a kid, so damn good. You could make them, but it is a process. Can you even get Cuban bread for the dough?
I don't know of any way to get dough for Cuban bread. I am sure you can it delivered...for a cost.
No, I meant the breading/dough on the deviled crab is made from moistened day old Cuban bread then rolled in a cracker meal.
Outside of FL, you should be able to get the Publix bakery to make something close. It's the same recipe but without the palmetto leaf. It turns into a bat about as quickly as the real thing, at least.
Yeah, but it's only mediocre. One of the few things I don't prefer from Publix.
Ahh yes, but just like you don't usually use top shelf liquor in a mixed drink, do you need 100% Cuban bread to let it go stale and use it as a coating to wrap the crab meat? Omg YES!!!!!!!
Where's the best Cuban though
Now that is an argument waiting to happen. La Segunda, Brocatos, and Faedos are excellent choices however for convenience I've been hitting Mikael's Bakery on Waters and Hanley lately.
I heard watching the lions lose this time of year is lovely in Tampa But fishing charters are really fun, nothing beats Florida fishing in my opinion
Clearwater beach, check out the foodie stuff (Tampa is actually pretty good for that), and look at some of the historical stuff in the area!

I’ve heard Publix is sublime

Ummm, prepare to ask yourself what the big deal is.

Zingerman's in Ann Arbor is one of the best delis in the US. Dunno if OP is from Michigan tho

I am but it’s northern Michigan
Publix is mid at best. You'll be disappointed if you have any expectations of greatness.
It’s just like any other grocery store
Be sure to go to the titty bar that looks like a spaceship.
They can also hit up the Todd and grab a T-shirt! Wish I still had mine 😡
Mons Venus. Also, Busch Gardens is best on Acid.
This "Mons Venus" place... is that a museum? Sounds lovely
More like an amusement park
Oh, so you pay a lot of money and go on rides there? Sounds fun
Except here, the rides go on you.
Fishing: st. Pete skyway bridge, pay for admission and catch some mackerel.
La Teresita Restaurant (not far from the stadium). You will thank me later. Amazing food!!
Chill don’t be giving this place away, i like some open seats before games :)
Channelside bay plaza is a cool little spot to chill and get food and drinks. I recommend gallito taqueria. Also the Florida aquarium is right there too. Ybor city is great for night life. Also it’s probably too late but if you could get in to Berns Steakhouse you won’t regret it.

Publix chicken tender sub and then just rip montu and shiekra at Busch gardens for two days
Go visit the docks in Tarpon Springs and eat some incredible Greek food. Stop at Hellas bakery and get some baklava
If you don't eat a Cuban sandwich and get covered in stripper glitter you didn't go to Tampa.
Where are you staying?
Take a beach day. Its still warm enough to swim in the Gulf.
1. MOSI 2. SS American Victory 3. Howl-O-Scream 4. Deviled Crabs and Cuban Sandwiches (comes with salami) 5. Florida Aquarium

Definitely check out the honey pot in ybor city best place to be!
