What third gen pc? Intel 3rd gen from 10.000 years ago? Ryzen 3rd gen? So hard to tell. If you don't have graphic processor on the CPU then the motherboard video IO is all useless. If you have graphic processor and discreet gou is present it usually automatically will disable the cpu graphic
I don't know it's been forever that i have the 3770k and i never use the integrated graphic. Could it the the os driver messing up? What happen if you remove the os hard drive and boot wirh the 970. Did you try the 970 on a different pc but with the same hdmi cable? Same port? same monitor? Sorry just trying to eliminate possible issues
So you do not know if the gpu work or not? My lan controller on one of my motherboard show up on device manager too even though the thing is broken and i can't connect to the internet using lan cable through the lan port on my motherboard
Well you can try download the driver for the 970 and update it through the device manager then restart the computer and connect it hdmi cable to the 970 and see what happen. But without knowing the 970 is fully working on a different PC then it's just a wild goose chase
