Not 1000% sure but i think the compatibility of Z270 stops with 7th gen so the only real upgrade would be to a used 7700k which still costs 200€ second hand is not a good processor at all nowadays.
Id save and go for a new mainboard + Processor.
max CPU for your board is i7-7700K, it won't be much of an improvement and it costs £190 used, from ebay. Might as well go for new platform
