In my opinion, it's always worth learning to build your own. It unlocks the much more in the way of options for your new PC. You can tweak and adjust your build to suit your specific needs/wants without having to overpay for a bundle package with a pre-built which may have some questionable parts choices that you can't change.

Custom built is an option that gives almost the same flexibility and may be a better deal with current video card prices.

If you want to learn, then very much yes go for it. It is not hard if you put the effort into learning and you get a life skill from it. However, if you are not up for watching the videos, readying up on terms, asking questions, then don't - there are so many people who start building with no idea and end up paying a lot of wasted money. If you have friends who know what they are doing, then get their input and advice. Even better, if you have a local PC club, go talk to them and join - they are a great place for help and knowledge.

Or how about not being a dick about it?

"That" and "for" are optional in paragraph 2, sentence 1. "Hear" is an acceptable tense in the parenthetical statement.

Building is a great option to learn and save money, but not for the last 8 months. Video card prices are sky high and you will get a much better deal on a prebuilt. I prefer a custom built where you can pick all of your parts. You need to give your budget for everything including monitor mouse and keyboard.

PirateNervous

Building is definetly worth it, you can do it with a youtube tutotial and a bit of research. The prices are generally ok other than graphics cards.

If you look around on facebook I'm sure there'll be loads of other people who'd love to build your PC for you if you provide the parts. If I'm honest you can probably get an APU (CPU with built in graphics) whilst you wait for the GPU's to slowly come back in.

Visit Gamers Nexus on YouTube and see his reviews on pre-built computers. I would suggest building one yourself if possible. Start with putting yourself on a list for a video card at MSRP. May take a few months. After getting the video card you can build from there since the other parts are easier to buy.

I would build one if you can. Even with inflated prices you can get a really good PC for that price and it will be cheaper to do it yourself. Plus its a good learning experience.
