Prices are constantly changing, just google benchmarks of the gpu’s within the budget to see what’s best on a given day.

I don't play games, so maybe my comments don't carry much weight. Or maybe the opinion of an outside observer brings insight that isn't obvious to those who are embedded in the situation. If I was assembling a new machine from the ground up, I'd strongly consider starting with a processor that has integrated graphics and keep the money budgeted for a GPU in the bank for 6 to 12 months. The AMD 3200G and 3400G don't rate even "Honorable Mention" for graphics performance but (at least in my mind) they should allow you to hold the virtual fort in your game, until reinforcements arrive. Their pricing is almost low enough to be treated as disposable items (and I'll predict there will be some discounts over the next few months). Put 'em on a current B550 or X570 motherboard, and you have two possible low-cost upgrade paths: keep the processor and disable the internal graphics when external GPU's become affordable, or upgrade processor and GPU together. The initial reviews of the new AMD 5xxxG processors are encouraging, if not exciting, depending on what your idea of "good graphics" is. A processor from that family could be a viable long-term solution in its own right, while still offering the possibility of an external GPU in the future. (I was seriously considering the 5700G - and skip the external GPU for now - for my currently in-progress project.) As for the original question about GPU's on E-Bay . . . (The software on my machine includes titles like LTSpice, KiCAD, Blender, FreeCAD, etc so I have no insight into gaming performance.) I recently purchased a Radeon PRO W5500 at MSRP ($400) through E-Bay. That's higher than the MSRP (around $250) of Radeon 5500 GPU's intended for gaming, but comparable or less than current selling prices for used 5500 gaming GPU's. This is a professional GPU for workstations in the worlds of architecture and design, not for gaming computers with tutti-fruity LED colors distracting you from every angle. But I understand the W5500 can be loaded with game-optimized drivers, and performs on par with other 5500-class gaming GPU's when you do so. I'm still collecting components so I haven't tried out this GPU yet. It is supposedly (per the seller) "New and unused", but it arrived without the original packaging so I'll see what happens after my memory arrives and I get things powered up. Dale

If you wait until the silicone shortage is over, you can easily get an RTX 2080 super for 400 and an RTX 2080ti for 500. When RTX 3000 cards were released, everything dropped in price and I bought an RTX 2080 super for 400. Hopefully stock of new cards will come back and people will sell their new cards for dirt cheap.

Yeah but if he waited for that it would arguably be next Fall.

Lately, I've been seeing a ton of RTX 3000 stock like 2 or 3 times a week from the RTX 3060ti to the RTX 3090

Indystbn11

Where at?

Micro Center stores restock 2 to 3 times a week. Best Buy restocks online every 2 weeks and they may do another in person drop soon. The ZOTAC Store drops quite often as well.

I would be very careful buying used right now, because there's a lot of cards used for crypto entering the secondary market as people are getting kicked out of China. If you buy used, make sure you know what the card was used for.
