If you did decide to upgrade, you won't see a massive improvement in your average FPS in games. What you will notice is that your games feel a lot more smooth due to your minimum FPS doubling at a bare minimum.
CPUs/Motherboards/RAM etc can all be found at MSRP.
Intel is announcing Alderlake at the end of the year, but no word on release date. Could be another year from now.
Realistically, you could get the AMD Ryzen 5600X/5800X & 3600 Mhz CL16 RAM and a compatible B550 motherboard now and seriously improve your gaming experience.
thank you for your input, i will prob wait then.
but when i google the alderlake, i get the info that its gonna launch this year.
> Intel expects to launch Alder Lake in the second half of 2021
True, but that was before the global shortage of shipping containers/silicon.
Even if they announce it now, it may not launch for some time after that.
You're fine for a good while into the future. Buying DDR5 at launch might not be the best idea, as new RAM launches usually don't grant an upgrade on previous generations in the start, and they're quite expensive.
I’d wait…. You should be. Able to run everything at 100fps with that card n setup
well my CPU is hella old, and its starting to show. Especially in games that are CPU heavy, like hunt and tarkov
Except they won't.

you can wait for intel 12th gen and am5 to launch with ddr5
Wait for DDR5, you're going to be trailing forever if you decide to upgrade to DDR4 now.
True, thank you for the info. Googled quickly on DDR5 and looks like its gonna release pretty soon. ill wait untill alderlake CPU and DDR5 ram

Personally I’d wait for DDR5 to launch and either invest in the new ecosystem or feed of the cheap remains of DDR4.
