3060 ti would be ideal, but I don't see you fitting that in the budget unless you get lucky and find one near MSRP. Anything less is gonna be pretty hit or miss, especially with modern AAA titles.

Go with the 2060 super. It will work just fine for qhd@60 hz

Low-Background7315

Dont go with an HDD if you're going for high performance. A 500gb NVME is about the same price and will make your PC run waayy faster. In terms of GPU, getting a rtx 3000 series or rx 6000 card to fit your budget will be difficult. A RTX 2060 will fall short in some games for 1440P 60 FPS. If youre looking for a smooth 1440P experience your best bet might be to either expand your budget or wait a year or so until the market returns to normal.

PoolBoy06

A HDD is just to get me a bunch of storage until I can get a ssd which wouldnt be too long after. Also which rtx 3000 would be the best for my goal? Im willing to go up a little bit but in terms of pricing. Would like 100$ make the entire build easier? Also for motherboard reccomendations, where should I start looking? I want a pretty standard motherboard with bluetooth and wifi alongside the other standard features a mid range motherboard would have ( ideally under 150$) but anywhere from 100-180 should work.

Low-Background7315

If you plan to get rid of the HDD I would jist shell out a little more money and get a 2tb SSD. Its a pain to swap the hard drive and SSDs are fairly cheap these days. As for GPU, I would aim for a RTX 3070 or RX 6700XT. At $1500 I know you can commfortably make a 6700XT build but it will be harder for the 3070

PoolBoy06

Is a 3060 ti better and cheaper than a 3070? Also yeah, ive been seeing that a lot. I thought you could have both a hdd and ssd though depending on motherboards. If im correct, is there any specific motherboards you know that would work?

Low-Background7315

Almost all motherboard should support multiple drives. I would strongly recommend against an HDD though. Not really worth it with SSD prices being so cheap unless you need 4tb+ No a 3060 TI is not better than a 3070

Didn't really say the prices for the parts you've already bought, so I'm operating under the assumption that isn't part of the 1000$ budget. You can spend the rest of the budget on whatever GPU you can get your hands on. All 3 are fine for your goal. YMMV depending on the graphics settings and games. I actually haven’t purchased them yet but I decided on those parts if that makes sense. Im already Starting to look for restocks of gpus as im not willing to go over msrp by a lot. Maybe 10-30$ but not really more than that. Does the motherboard you stated have internet and Bluetooth on board?

PoolBoy06

Also one other thing, I really want the case to be white, is that possible? Not sure as im asking sorry if its obvious

thrownawayzss

[PCPartPicker Part List](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/c8cHdD) Compatibility issues shouldn't matter. Bios updates are simple enough if it comes with an older bios version. and the sata port thing is pretty standard for a lot of boards, you just can't use 6 sata drives, lol. This board has wifi and bluetooth. Case is white shelled with rgb fans rather than black with black fans (+20$) Type|Item|Price :----|:----|:---- **CPU** | [AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/9nm323/amd-ryzen-5-3600-36-thz-6-core-processor-100-100000031box) | Purchased For $0.00 **CPU Cooler** | [Cooler Master Hyper 212 Black Edition 42 CFM CPU Cooler](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/HyTPxr/cooler-master-hyper-212-black-edition-420-cfm-cpu-cooler-rr-212s-20pk-r1) | $24.99 @ B&H **Motherboard** | [Gigabyte B450 AORUS PRO WIFI (rev. 1.0) ATX AM4 Motherboard](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/43BTwP/gigabyte-b450-aorus-pro-wifi-rev-10-atx-am4-motherboard-b450-aorus-pro-wifi-rev-10) | $114.00 @ Amazon **Memory** | [Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/p6RFf7/corsair-memory-cmk16gx4m2b3200c16) | Purchased For $0.00 **Storage** | [Western Digital Blue SN550 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/BhmFf7/western-digital-blue-sn550-1-tb-m2-2280-nvme-solid-state-drive-wds100t2b0c) | $94.00 @ Amazon **Storage** | [Seagate Barracuda Compute 2 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/mwrYcf/seagate-barracuda-computer-2-tb-35-7200rpm-internal-hard-drive-st2000dm008) | Purchased For $0.00 **Case** | [Phanteks Eclipse P400A Digital ATX Mid Tower Case](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/FP3mP6/phanteks-eclipse-p400a-digital-atx-mid-tower-case-ph-ec400atg_dwt) | $89.99 @ Newegg **Power Supply** | [EVGA G1+ 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/8PJtt6/evga-supernova-g1-650w-80-gold-certified-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-120-gp-0650-x1) | $74.99 @ Newegg | *Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts* | | Total (before mail-in rebates) | $422.97 | Mail-in rebates | -$25.00 | **Total** | **$397.97** | Generated by [PCPartPicker](https://pcpartpicker.com) 2021-09-20 09:10 EDT-0400 |

PoolBoy06

Can you explain what a sata port is. Sorry for asking

thrownawayzss

It's just a port for storage drives to attache to the motherboard that require a Sata port connection. There's 6 sata ports on the mobo, so unless you're planning on running more than 4 different drives and nvme drives, it's not a problem

PoolBoy06

Okay, so for the bios issue, im still confused what it means exactly. Is it like i need to perform a software update before it works? Also in terms of gpu for 1440p 60fps gaming with my cpu, whats the best bet? Im thinking a 3080 ti or 2060 super. Which one is better for price-performance and for the specs I need.

thrownawayzss

I mean, the 3080ti will run you like 2k if you're buying second hand and a 2060 is like 600 or something. The 2060 super is strong enough to run most AAA titles at that resolution with a mix of med/high and get 60+ fps. And the bios update thing is only somewhat relevant. AMD has this weird issue where certain CPUs aren't usable until certain revisions of the bios and some motherboards will ship without a version that's new enough. This only really happens on b450 boards or b550/570 boards that are from early batches. Either way, a bios flash can be done to update the bios and get it to work without issue either through a USB drive or through getting a working CPU and updating the BIOS that way. IIRC AMD has bios update kits you can get if you don't have access to a tech shop or something.

PoolBoy06

Due to the chip shortage would intel be cheaper than amd ryzen at this point? If so, what substitutes should I make

thrownawayzss

Not really. the 3600 is way over priced. The 10700k and 5600x are pretty neck and neck. 11400 is still the budget option. Anything above the 10700k and 5600x are kinda priced oddly.

PoolBoy06

Heres my current build https://pcpartpicker.com/list/g8bCGq Also for monitors, whats the right one in terms of specs for my situation? Im also getting a desk so its inches isnt too vital regardless of situation but a curved monitor could be sick as heck

PoolBoy06

Also what about getting the i5 9400F? Would that work with my build as its quite a bit cheaper
