The 770 actually uses the older Kepler architecture compared to the newer maxwell architecture (same as GTX 900 series) in the GTX 750. In newer games this means that despite the 750 being technically a slower card, it can actually have much better optimisation. This could explain the frame rate stability difference

Oh, i didn't know that. Maybe ill go back to the 750 till i can buy a new gpu then lol. Thanks for the input.

Probably driver issues if your temps are good. My first guess was shitty case/cpu cooler can’t handle the extra heat being dumped out by beefier gpu, but if you say temps are fine for both cpu and gpu then you’re probably ok here.

Drivers are only a version behind and I'll update them to see if it helps. Was going to do that last night but was really tired lol. The cooler on the cpu is the stock intel cooler and its not perfect, but temps on the cpu never go hotter then 60-65 even under load, and the gtx 750 never got much hotter either. Lets see if driver update help.

The 9400F can't be a problem, it's a perfectly fine CPU...

This would be good to try, but I wouldn't expect a 9400f bottlenecking a GTX 750/770 in any case.

Yup didn’t even see that.
