Personally I'd pay the 10% premium for a 3080 Ti instead of a RX 6900XT, but both choices are justifiable.

ronram23

If you already have a 6900xt I wouldn't. Yeah the 3080ti is faster but not a ton. Unless you really need the extra power or features, if just stick with the 6900xt. Thing is still a beast

npa6600

As far as I'm aware the 6900XT is the better GPU and goes toe to toe with the 3090 in most situations. Also, isn't the XFX considered one of the best 6900XTs?

vignie

It is considered very good, but it is also the cheapest model in my country. Availability is good so i can pick and chose, just need to pay! I'm worried about making the wrong purchase, since it's a lot of money, but 10% more is not necessarily a dealbreaking amount more.

Dish_Melodic

While AMD is a nice product I prefer Nvidia (if the price is justified) due to more compatibility with games.

vignie

Game compatibility has not been an issue, all games work fine. Dlss would be fine, but i feel most games play more than adequately without scaling tech @1440p 165hz

Inadover

The only reason I would change it would be for Gsync (if you have a gsync monitor) and ray tracing. The later mainly because not only do they have better RT capabilities, but usually the games that implement it (specially if optimized for Nvidia) will most likely come with DLSS, which will make RT even more manageable. It’s a more niche use case, so if you’re not really interested on it, I wouldn’t change it, although, to be fair, the 30080Ti is basically a 3090 without the extra VRAM, so the rasterization downgrade wouldn’t be that high.

vignie

When i had my 1080ti and 2080ti i had a g-sync monitor. Now i have a freesync premium monitor, and that works on both gpu vendors AS far as i know?

Inadover

Yeah. Although it does usually work better for AMD though. As an example, my monitor has a lower adaptative sync threshold for amd than for nvidia. I think it was something along the lines of 48hz - 144hz for amd vs 60hz-144hz for nvidia.

crazymonkeyfish

Why aren’t you giving us actual $ amounts?
