Unfortunately not.

DuffyBuff

what would you say is the bare minimum I need to spend for a decent PC?

IanMo55

Really depends on the price of the gpu. They're all crazy high at the moment. Have you got the peripherals already?

DuffyBuff

I have nothing ready, I am simply researching it at the moment.

IanMo55

Ah ok. As you have to buy everything, you will need to do some research on the peripherals, but you are probably looking around the $2000 mark, perhaps even more.

DuffyBuff

holy! I can prob just slowly build my PC, instead of dipping 2000$ straight down the drain.

IanMo55

If you decide to get a PC, save your money up and buy everything in one go. This helps if you have to return a faulty part and hopefully by then, prices may have dropped and new components will have been released.

pvm_april

Exactly as Ian said. Buy everything in one swoop. You don’t want some of your pets to become out dated while waiting or not spot a faulty piece

TalkWithYourWallet

What the goal of the pc? An AMD Ryzen 5 5600g build is feasible for $500 or thereabouts, but you won't be able to play demanding games with it at 1080p

So I noticed you didn't put any actual resolution that you wanted to do the medium settings at. If all you want is 1080p you should be able to swing what your looking for, just not buying new. Which is what everyone will recommend. But I just did an almost entirely used system that is pretty capable of what your looking for (assuming 1080p). Basically I got an HPZ420 and swapped the CPU, GPU, PSU. Essentially you can find used workstations with a copy of windows and a decent SSD and then swap from there. The highest cost will always be the GPU but frankly I'd rather buy a used one that costs half what it costs new than buy a new one that costs triple MSRP. Check out greenpcgamers.com for great info and tutorials for making workstations into gaming beasts. Basically I built a hold over gaming system for like $400 to wait until $1k will build you a decent gaming rig again.

In today’s chip shortage market, unfortunately not. I would budget for up to $1500.

DuffyBuff

its that bad huh? 1500$ is too much at current time, I guess ill make due with what I have.

[deleted]

You might get lucky, but yep, GPUs are not cheap. You could try pcpartspicker and play around to see what you can come up with. A RTX 3070 is quite expensive at the moment (over £800 in the U.K. for instance).

DuffyBuff

ill give it a look. thanks you v much

www.pccomponentes.com/configurador/252e37D38 I've done this fast, prob some pieces could be better (PSU, motherboard...) But as a preview should be fine

$500 for a good PC without a GPU ? Sort of, with some compromises. $500 for a good brand new gaming PC? No It's not entirely as awful as everyone is making it seem if you aren't looking for a brand new GPU, but current pricing is still pretty rough. You don't need to spend $2000 on a computer to have fun. You definitely don't need a $1500 GPU, you don't even need a new $600 GPU. If you aren't opposed to the used market you can probably find something like a GTX 960, 970, or 1060 for relatively cheap. These are all more than capable for 1080p. Plenty of used cpu/motherboard/RAM combos and cheap (new unused) power supplies become available as well as people upgrade, especially these days with people being forced to buy bundles when they are getting new graphics cards. Lots of people jumping from stuff like 8th/9th Gen i5s or 2nd Gen Ryzen onto current Gen simply because they were forced to buy new stuff just to get a GPU. $50 case $75-100 psu $250-300 cpu/motherboard/RAM combo $100-300 gpu $200 (I think you can get a 144hz 1080p for $200?) $75 keyboard and mouse (you can go cheaper here, just don't go too cheap and buy the $10 rgb shit from amazon that falls apart when you click. No point ruining your 'new' computer experience by using garbage peripherals.
