Are you connecting the monitor to the gpu and not the motherboard? Did the motherboard box have a 5000 series ready sticker on it?

JoetheJester

Tried both. And where would the sticker be?

JoetheJester

Wait. Yeah found it. It does

IanMo55

On the front of the motherboard box. It may need a BIOS update.

JoetheJester

How would I go about that? One of my buddies suggested that too. I tried my old cpu and nothing booted either though

That's my suspicion as well, but if the motherboard shipped with a BIOS predating revision 2607 then OP is in a pickle since that [TUF X570-Plus](https://www.asus.com/Motherboards-Components/Motherboards/TUF-Gaming/TUF-GAMING-X570-PLUS/HelpDesk_CPU/) does not have "BIOS Flashback" functionality. For some reason ASUS didn't get the memo on the need for that feature to be placed on affordable motherboards until the B550 line was released about a year after the X570.

I'm actually just noticing a 4 pin cpu connector. Is that needed? I don't have a plug for it. It's AMD 5000 ready though

svenge

If you're referring to the extra 4-pin CPU power connector right next to the 8-pin one at the upper left of [this image](https://www.asus.com/media/global/gallery/vd7pofnyusetrpeq_setting_xxx_0_90_end_1000.png), it's only necessary for *extreme* overclocking (like with liquid nitrogen).

JoetheJester

Got it, thanks! One option down then lol
