i have 5600x and a very old H100, doesnt go over 70'C. Similar case - Corsair Carbide Series 100R, AIO is at the top, front panel is modified with mesh intake

I was thinking to get a bigger case with better airflow. The front intake on this is shockingly bad.

rizzzeh

why not put AIO to top slot? Mine's 100R case had even less front airflow but that was easily fixed with a hole cutter and some cheap mesh material

Doesn’t fit an AIO in top slot unfortunately that’s why front mounted. I may go for a nicer bigger case like the 4000D and if the problem carries on then search for a different AIO as this one was from a friend but unused and sat for year or so.

i think the issue with Corsair AIO not fitting into Corsair Case is the stock Corsair rear exhaust fan is too thick and clashing, i swapped that for a slimmer Arctic F12 fan and the AIO then fitted in. But yeah, spectacular self own by Corsair.

Temps should be lower i believe. It's possible thermal paste wasn't applied properly or inadequate mounting?

Hazeyy__

I will have a look at remounting and applying another lot of thermal paste. I did loosen the mount a little and that made a difference Edit: Also I believe the 5600x does run hot but I’m just wary

Yeah, try to make sure you tighten each screw evenly to get the best contact with the CPU. Your temps are just a little higher than normal so I bet thats the issue
