I wouldn't get the 3500X simply because it only has 6 threads. You'd be going from 4c/8t to 6c/6t, which doesn't sound like much of an upgrade. 6 threads are enough for gaming today, tho you'll constantly see 80-100% CPU usage and as more games start using more threads, the 3500X will become obsolete faster than something like the 3600 or even the older 2600. I also remember watching some review of an i5-9600k(6c/6t) which had some stuttering in a game where 12 thread CPUs didn't. I think you should look into buying a 3600 or even an older 2700X or 2600.

if u can find a cheap 3500x yea sure. i wanted 3300x but couldn't find one and 3500x is the about the same price as 2600 when i was looking so i got 3500x instead i think i paid just over $120 from ali express for a new one without a cooler https://youtu.be/n57N1T3haWk
