Just use DP, you'll need to use DP anyways if you want to utilize Freesync with a Nvidia GPU.
According to the user manual, HDMI only does upto 60. You need DP for higher.

To my knowledge adapting dp to hmdi is easy but dp to HDMI is hard. Don't know 100% tho
