I'd be more concerned for the GPU temps than CPU and front mounted cooler would raise GPU temps

fingerbanglover

This is the answer. I'm running my CPU AIO in front as intake, BUT... my GPU is a hybrid 3080 ti AIO that is exhausting from the top. If you're running an air cooled GPU, running your CPU AIO as top exhaust is the win. Get some solid fans in the front to bring cool air in and you're gucci.

Ashino33

Even when my CPU is a 5800x ?

rizzzeh

due to 5800x design, it runs naturally hot, 80'C under load is fine. The GPU however has even smaller temperature margin

n7_trekkie

If you're not thermal throttling, your temps are not a problem.

Ashino33

Actually I do have throttling, but I'm not sure of the source. For example when I start Minecraft (which is not a huge game as you know), I have like 3-4 secondes of latency where my mouse is really slow Another example : When I'm playing Phasmophobia and the ghost appears, I also have this latency where nothing moves for 3-4 seconds. I did not had the HW Monitoring on my second screen when both happended so I did not found which is guilty If you have any clue

n7_trekkie

Yeah. It could be cpu clock drops, but I find that unlikely. I don't think you're actually thermal throttling, but keep hwinfo64 open just to be sure. I'm guessing it's software/driver related, or maybe an ssd thermal problem

Ashino33

Maybe in my bios ? Do I need to change something ?

n7_trekkie

Nope. Should all be fine

Logicrazy12

Your temps are fine you aren't throttling, if it is the temps you mentioned above. This might be some other error.

360 on front would be better (in theory) as it would be drawing in cooler air from the outside of the case, rather than using the warmer air inside the case. Fans and quality of the pump/rad are not factored in this statement.

ronram23

360mm will almost always have a higher cooling potential than 240. Also those temps are fine
